Yeah I was also a bit rude there, but so were you. It goes both ways. You want a respectful answer? Make a respectful reply.
Ah, I've met people who think like you and have said the same thing to me. I like you guys - you're necessary to the economy as you always eventually keep the marriage councilors and psychiatrists employed and well fed.

Don't have to believe me if you don't want to. that's fine. That's great if you think you got it all balanced and worked out (hint: I'm betting you don't...your defensive/offended tone suggests it as so) but, sorry - that's the way gaming is going.
You want your hardcoe game? Go build it yourself. The rest of us do not want to make one game our full-time hobby.
But for now...I'll digress and offer a POLITE answer at your behest...
Perhaps you're mistaking me for a person who wants simple/stupid games? No I don't... I want an MMORPG where I can play 1-4 hours and see some satisfactory progress (read: I do NOT mean becoming gear-capped overnight). I would more than LOVE for a game to have your hardcoe elements... but I do NOT want it to be REQUIRED of me to raid 8 hours a day, 4+ days a week, just to experience the PRIMARY end-content.
As I said... you're one of those who believe that "putting tons of hours into something" is somehow a challenge. Right. Well... again... it gets to my point, doesn't it? Regardless of how I play - you will STILL put in hours... your challenge is in putting hours and skewering all details. You'll do that regardless of ANY game you get. So... no matter what - the hardcoe always happens weither it's an Easy game or a Hard game. But the casual player will not play the hard game, but the normal/easy ones (or rather, the ones we call by another word -"fun").
You really think disgustingly hard challenges are fun and should be the norm of an MMORPG? OK my friend, here's a hard challenge for you. Go out to your car and slam the car door on your head as hard as you can 20 times while trying to remain conscious. When you wake up in the hospital (and regain vocal, motor and cognitive capabilities) please report back here and tell me how much fun you had.
