Still i hope they review their sight on gameplay part. It's never be recouped if they will make another hybrid of WoW+little-from-others-mmo.
I didn't belived, that they so foolishly will try done something by so trivial way.

Examples of how it could have been new and different;

-Open world sandbox
-First person view
-No levels, level how you did in single player TES only for a MMO
-Create slightly better factions (can't say much on this but so far not overly impressed however must stress this is because of lack of information about who they are and what they are about, I mean goals and motivations here)

Fully endorse

Have some optimism guys! Unless some hard evidence this will svck comes out I am going to continue to support and be excited for this game! And if it turns out it will svck I will shrug and move on and wait for Elder Scrolls VI.

There wont be a TES VI unless the MMO dies.

I think they should just make their own threads and stop trolling on the threads where people who are open to the idea of a online elder scrolls reside. That is if they want to take there rage out in public. I am completely open to the idea of sharing my experience online with other TES fans... if you are not I and alot of other people don't want to hear it thank you very much :)

But your idea of trolling is anyone who disagrees with your opinion? You can't have a discussion like that!

It's been less than 24 hours since the announcement, and most of the threads have been along the line of "What do you think of this?", so that's to be expected. There's going to be another year before it's released, a lot of frustrated fans will fade off once the newness wears away, and this forum will eventually be 90% cheerleaders, don't worry :)

Someone needs to make a separate forum... PM me if you do it. A less populated and more level-headed forum is exactly what I'd like.

This.

This sums up the biggest fear in everyone's mind now.
Unless someone official from Bethesda can dispute this, this is it.

And u know what? I want this MMO to die. Right Now.
Can anyone help summon the DB?

Depends how you want to define it, i'll be more specific

Is it an Elder Scrolls game? yes

Do I want it to be an Elder Scrolls game? no

Is it an Elder Scrolls single player game? no

Do I define an Elder Scrolls game by it's single player? yes

Hopefully you can understand my opinion now. Your point about Halo may be right, but before now TES has never sold out before, or if they have it has never truly bothered me. This on the other hand does. To me this game is just an mmo, it's much easier that way. Because to me Elder Scrolls is about the single player, that is how the experience is defined. Anything else just won't be Elder Scrolls. It's just my opinon, you don't have to agree with it.

Remember that whole angle used against people who don't like Skyrim? How did it go... "TES games have always been changing..."

This is a TES game, one hundred percent, but with a different focus, that focus being having thousands of people play together. Just like Skyrim had a focus to get thousands of new players playing.

The other forums aren't even 90% cheerleaders now. You can't get around having this kinds of people on a forum this populated. There will always be those interested in nothing but expressing their opinion and your own be damned. Its the nature of the internet. A separate forum on a different website is exactly whats needed.

There is a difference between criticism and going "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!1111!!!1one!!1!" though.
I don't care really, I'm not even that excited about this project, just saying.

(Allow me to clear that up, there is a difference between cricism and bashing.)

Ugh, I hope Bethesda make a statement soon about this. Something like 'Todd is alive and the MMO ain't cannon, you can chill'

That or put the game down, which won't happen so instead i'm hoping they say something like the above

SEPARATE STUDIO. And I could swear someone on gamesas's team confirmed on twitter or facebook that this won't stop TES VI.The MMO existing at all is fine. Also, look on the brightside: The MMO will probably pull away a lot of the 'tards from the singleplayer series.

Dont want me to be negative? Ill be neutral then:

World:
Pos: we get to explore all of tamriel finally.
Neg: we are exploring zenimax interpretation of everything. Not bethesdas.

Lore:
Pos: its possible they will loyally stick to the lore and only expand what makes sense to expand.
Neg: if you believe the gameinformer article it looks like they have already given some major lore issues the finger.

Gameplay:
Pos:many people have requested multiplayer in an elder scrolls game. Now they will get that tenfold.
Neg: many people prefer realtime combat and first person viewpoints in elder scrolls games, it wont feel the same.

My personal opinion:
Despite the massive negativity so far I will give this game a chance if it is free to play instead of subscription. I want to explore the unknown provinces and learn of the rich history of tamriel.

If it doesnt turn out well? Oh well they wont try it again.
If it purposely shoves bethesda out of the way and tries to steal the spotlight? I believe there will be hell to pay.

Funny how there was a TES: V during the production of TES Online... how is that possible?

Sorry if I did not describe my opinion on trolling correctly, I don't care if someone describes there opinion and backs it up with something to help the game (which i have seen before) but when they continue to rant and rant and say the same things as everyone else 10 thousand times is gets pretty annoying like for instance that it wont be a true TES game
over and over again just referring to the same thing over and over that is what I meant by trolling. Sorry, hope I made myself clear :)

I love skyrim,Looking forward to Dawnguard whatever it is.
But TES Online :( I mean.. Its a mmo,Think of all things we love in the original TES Games,i bet they wont be there,All those things.. Think of it,This isnt a TES Game that have multiplayer, its a MMO set in Tamriel. I bet it will feel very weird.. Sticking to the singleplayer games,But still i am going to give this game a try..

This is a TES game, one hundred percent, but with a different focus, that focus being having thousands of people play together. Just like Skyrim had a focus to get thousands of new players playing.
But this time the change is a whole lot different. It's now multiplayer. As a single player TES player I am phobic of multiplayer games and have had only bad experiences with WoW style games. It really would take something special to impress me on this front. Really this game 'isn't for me' but because it's TES I feel as a fan I reserve the right to [censored] and be judgemental until it is suddenly revealed to be awesome.

Early days yet but not impressed. I hate to sound outdated but I prefered the Morrowind days *moan moan* you know the story. I don't like this game, i'd love to see it be awesome though. I hope you can understand my mixed feelings on this game because it must be weird that I contradict myself a lot. :P

The problem with this is that we can't trust their own statements- when Skyrim interviews were being done, they knew the MMO was in production and still made comments that suggested it would never happen, and that they only wanted to work on single player games. They can infer and suggest anything they want, but we now know they can lie by just omitting certain truths.

Actually, forums are about discussions, which may include opinions, but not all opinionated posts add anything to the discussion. Swooping in and posting "THIS svckS, change this and that or I never play this game" really adds nothing.

Tell that to Bioware.

So there won't be an Elder Scrolls VI because of this? Then how was Skyrim produced the same time TESO was being developed?

What I want to know is bethesdas opinion about the game. If they truly feel it does the elder scrolls justice then I will accept this game.

But I want their real opinion, not a statement payed for by zenimax.

My main concern is sinse zenimax owns bethesda they can do whatever they want without bethesda's permission.

Well they will just say 'Well actually we were never developing a mmo game because it were Zenimax' and wink at the camera with a smug little look. I just think i'd be able to feel a lot less upset about this if we had official word from Bethesda.
