Future DLC Suggestions (Not Dawnguard) - Thread #6

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 11:54 pm

I'd like to see a expansion taking us across the border into Blacklight.

I've especially become keen on this idea after realising it is Redoran and I feel the architecture and landscape will do justice to Skyrim. That and may be they could include the island of Solstheim in as well which will bring back the Skaal.
To think that the small strip of land west of Skyrim would be the perfect place for an expansion: not too big, interesting area for those who are into Dunmer culture, ability to see a slightly different landscape! And Red Mountain looming on the horizon on the other side of the strait!

Since we've seen so much of Nord culture, I hope we see the land the Nords came from. The land of Atmora. The pocket guide to the Empire I got with Oblivion says the expeditions to Atmora have discribed a frozen wasteland where all the native species are all predatory.

Dress warmly folks!

Sure, some parts of Atmora would be nice, especially if it allows to discover why it froze. But well, Atmora is supposed to be a continent. So I guess the whole of it would be too much for a DLC.

I think each race should be able to visit their homeland. Like Kajiits should be able to go to Elsweyer and so on. Sorry if its been posted, I'm new to this thread.

I don't think we'll be leaving Skyrim in any of the DLCs (nor would I really want them to), but they unfortunately seem to have shot themselves in the foot somewhat. There are so many locations in Skyrim, Bethesda haven't really left themselves any space to work with, and are then forced to add locations in tiny little separate world-spaces (forgotten vale, and particularly Dayspring canyon), which is rather clunky. I think they should be working with what they already have; the characters, cities, factions etc. New stuff yes, but don't ignore what's already there.

For hopes though, I'd like to see the lord's mail turn up.

I'd be surprised if Bethesda doesn't make a DLC on the same level as Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles. Anyway, I think the next DLC should definitely be different from Skyrim: the reason why the aforementioned DLC packs stood out was because they were different than their respective games, with new environments and themes. I do think that daedric realms are a bit under-done; the possibilities are endless with what could be done in Oblivion. It might also be interesting to see the civil war questline continued: to see the consequences of our actions and how the feud with the Aldmeri Dominion is resolved. More simply; new lands, more political intrigue, more depth.

Bethesda may not realise it, but they're actually at their best when they're being weird & wacky; like Morrowind, Shivering Isles or Blackreach (and also the "gary" vault from Fallout 3).

I totally, wholeheartedly agree. I would love to have totally fancy and original new stuff. Something that could stimulate my imagination.

(That's why I suggested something with Dreughs, with Goblin-ken, with Blacklight, and with Morihaus earlier in this thread -- any of these could provide nice opportunities wor weirdness)

Whatever they might do in the future I hope it focuses on improvements to Mounted Combat. Mounted enemies, the incorporation of a perk tree for spears/lances and other mounted combat perks could go a long way. Finally the ability to use Shouts, Spells and Staves should be incorporated.

Judging by the expansions from morrowind and oblivion, i'm pretty sure the next expansion is gonna be around the size of bloodmoon and shivering isles. And i think the next one would also be the final expansion for skyrim, than they'll move on and focus on elder scrolls 6 or fallout 4.

The new bigger expansion should be about the Kamal snow demons invading morrowind again. Without all the great houses and the 3 tribunal gods, they are actually successful this time.

New location - western mainland morrowind

Main cities - Blacklight and another new city south of it.

Lore - A few weeks ago, large moving ice blocks were seen coming near the shores of eastern morrowind. The Argonian mustered a defense force on the shores and tries to investigate these strange large ice blocks off the shore.
One week later, all hell breaks loose the argonian eastern defense force has been destroyed and all those ice blocks are actually ships used by the akavir kamal demons.
They had moved into the ruins of red mountain and has began casting strange rituals in the carter of red mountain. They had also send massive raiding parties to assault the other parts of morrowind and even black marsh and skyrim.
One of the quests involves the dragonborn searching for the Underking and seeking his help to defeat the snow demon king.

Major factions - An-Xileel, House Haalu, Kamal.

Oh my god, this sounds like so much fun. Just remember; spears need to be included in there as well.

Hello everyone first time I post in this forums! I've read alot of good idea since the last five days. I , personaly, would want to go further on thalmor and the Aldmeri Dominions and rip their existence out of Nirn :) with claws! Surely I could write the main line of the quest and some side quest. Probably write it after my surgery since i wouldn't be able to walk for a couple of days.

Dwemer, their story are pretty deep and a great lore of TES. The mystery that overhelm their past is incredibly fascinating. Maybe bethesda could dig up a bit to their root and origins. Finding the first state-city they have ever built and add it in the mountain at the south. In the way i see it, could be the most huge, well preserved and functiunal city left. Adding the ability to build your own animunculis follower could be nice as well the mighty spear. You'll need to find blueprint of your animunculis as it never be seen anywhere on Tamriel. The first android prototype who can carry more stuff than a human one, having more health but can't be given a weapon because of his integrated weapon with lower damage (his weapon could be a sword and a crossbow?)

Left some hole just for you guys ! Add some stuff and keep lorewise as most as possible and be kind :)I don't remember if their anything about the origins of the dwemer.

what I'd like to see in the new dlcs...

new weapon types: spears, scythes, fist weapons (?), so that we get good killmoves with those.
more magic effects: like sun damage but even more drastic, some good old favourites back such as water walking, silence and sound
Spellmaking: NO.
dragon transformation: we got vampire lord, now we need this for a true dragonborn, complete with perks and flight
lich transformation: why vampire and not lich? absurd. again, also a personalized perk tree would be nice
bigger alduin: so that he becomes world-eater and not snack-eater. animations fixed, bethesda, please
lore, lore and more lore: dawnguard had a lot of nice lore. I want more.
more territory to explore: possibly linked for real to the mainland, not that stupid "dayspring cave" thing.

EDIT: more enemies with special killmoves...
Winged twilight: special kiss killmove
Daedroth: where it eats you (could also be used for dragons?)
Ghosts: ethereal like oblivion with killmove where they plunge their spectral hand in you and kill you
Dreugh: killmove where they split in half
Spider Daedra: oh, so many possibilities with this one, one worse than the other
Iron/Stone Golems and Iron Atronachs: Hulk smash!

side note:
plugin support for the toolset

Yeh and its Redoran so I feel their architecture will suit the game of Skyrim. Imagine seeing this as you cross the border only mixed with Skyrim's nature and landscape http://images.uesp.net/1/13/MW-Place-Maar_Gan.jpg

It'll also provide the opportunity to see the return of a Dunmer armor as many have been requesting (I think the Temple armor is most asked for). That and maybe an Argonian one as well (I'm guessing Dreugh armor was an Argonian armor due to its fit and look suiting them the best - an improved and graphically enhanced version would be interesting. It was a high ranking armor back then and I'm sure it'll keep the many Argonian fans happy)
