Ganking?

The following was prolly the right one.

Findariel, prolly got it right by direct quate : "about twice as big as the faction areas put together"

Hm. I found where I got the information from. Was from Jesse Cox Alpha review
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SLp0ykvotEI

On Minute 11:50 he said it. Maybe hes wrong there.

But I think he is right. Because either Cyrodil would be way to big even for 2000 people or the leveling zone would be way to small to level 50 lvls in it.

Linear can be good. Let's compare PS2(ultra sandbox non-linear gameplay) to PS1 linear gameplay.

Here we can see in PS2 battles are far too stretched out, less participants because there are too many territories and the hex system encourages you to, rather than fight your enemy, go around them. In PS1 battles are much more focused, participants are funneled towards objectives and zergs clash head on. Linear is not always bad, as long as it is designed right. In ps1, there were always a 3 or 4 potential targets along with the possibility to back-hack behind enemy lines.

i know about all this, PS1 had bottle neck spots for a reason, due to the facts that the devs wanted heated battles with a lot of hardware, also they wanted big base battles with 200vs200vs200 players (had that many times but never actully had 200+ onscreen at the same time, 100+ yes, but not close to 200.

played PS1 from day0 to almost end.

TESO will have gateways like DAoC had long time ago, gateway fortifications in strategic locations, and those will be every now and then a bit of a hotspots. But i am pretty sure that there is more open areas in Cyrodiil, and thus gateways prolly r small fortifications seperating the different areas, but avoidable prolly.

i personally feel that Cyrodiil will be very open area.

I quated DEVs, Jesse is Jesse, a hyper of games and only a gamer.

Altho 1.5 of the one faction area is realistic, i still hope its wrong info by jesse and the old dev info is correct :D

all i gotta say is the amount of people in this thread that got excited about ganking disturbs me...

Reality of it is simple though, while your having fun killing someone over and over and over, they will likely log out and never return. It's the consequences of your actions.

Then when you are all alone and the only person you can "pvp" (since you seem to think that ganking is PvP) is someone that is ganking the crap out of you, only then will you understand.

A shame really, im ready to write this game off.

Ah I see. I subbed PS1 for the first time last month. Sadly, there are very few players on right now. Though according to the CEO of SOE it is going free to play before June, so hopefully it gets a sizable population again.

See as in many of your posts I have seen so far, you back up your statements with "the devs said it" never leaving any source to back up your claims. Scientifically that makes all your arguments irrelevant.

Dont get me wrong. I dont say i'm right and your wrong. All I say is : I have a source and you have a bunsh of text written in italic.

Ganking is attacking those who are busy doing something or are known to be weaker than you. Alliance players in WoW use to do it to me all time when I played that game, always when I was doing something or if they out numbered me.

Why do people have to be cowards like that? \(-_-)/

in War situtations in Cyrodiil, when letting an enemy same level player get away is is unthinkable, its was afterall. But i am sure some of the players are not so war minded 24/7.

Every player in Cyrodiil is on max level. the fact that what gear and how good dps you have is a different matter.

But Cyrodiil is .. warzone, so everyone should be aware of this fact. if you do not want to be apart of the actual fighting and or beware of it, then PvE content in home territories will have high level content so no worries, that is an option also.

AND if we have autolevelling dungeons like thay have said, you can revisit some low level dungeons and the dungeons will be comparable vs your level of hardship.
