Ganking?

Open world PvP areas are awesome. Just don't go there if you don't wanna fight

Exactly. People know the risks when going into open world pvp and they should accept them.

Not really surprising, but not exactly what everyone was looking for...

Oh well, answers will come eventually.

Except that even the endgame PvE content takes place in the open world PvP zone. If you want to play OSE you have to be willing to spend the vast majority of your time in a open world PvP zone.

I don't really see the point in ganking. In all the games I've played it was a fair fight maybe..10% of the time.

90% was me being murdered by someone hopelessly higher level than me. That's all it's going to be still here; even if the level is boosted people still won't gank unless they have end gear and their target is obviously weaker.

Most end-game content involves you going with a group anyways. So bring people that know how to fight. If it's solo play, then maybe you should know how to fight too lol

Thats exactly what ganking is. Unfair fights where you have the advantage. Attacking people who are doing PvE is ganking ;)

The more i hear about how this game is more so centered around PvP, the more i step back and just don't want to bother with it. Not that I mind a little pvp but, im a PvE peson.

Also, griefing/ganking does exist and it is usually the people who cant fight other people their lvl that are doing it because they svck so bad and have to take it out on unexpecting questers =P

With zone locks you won't have to worry about it leveling unless you want to deal with PvP. PvP will be max level vs. max level so that sort of stuff won't be a problem.

It may be "usually" them, but some people do it out of pure boredom. You get no rewards for ganking anyway, I guess it might be something to test out your new skill set or something

Exactly. People go on PvP servers where open world pvp is allowed and complain about it. But in SWTOR, killing someone Over and over and over is in an open world pvp area is reportable, as its considered harassment.

And your last sentence is completely ridiculous. You might as well change it to "if real life is so bad you must play video games". Ganking is fun you should try it some time

Like i said my last comment was aimed at the same people you described in swtor. I find nothing wrong with killing someone while they are questing on a PVP server, hell that's to be expected. Knowing you might get attacked at anytime is a great feeling in an MMO but constantly killing the same person or camping him/her is not fun.

You are getting mixed up with PVP and ganking, ganking is griefing not pvp.

Personally TESO pvp is a bit mild, i'm more interested in conquest rather than hunting for players questing.

For the most part, anyone who loses a fight even if they started it they think they were ganked. Ganking = lost a PvP fight.

Yeah, but to me it's a little cheap if all you do is wait for people to quest to grief them instead of actually PvPing.
But that's just my opinion.

Well griefing/ganking are considered the same thing anyway. And some people might gank out of pure boredom, they gank because they can, maybe to divert from their normal gaming routine etc..

Supposedly there will be a lots of PvE content (given the all the endgame PvE content will be in the PvP zone). However, the developers of this game were the previous team that designed a totally PvP game, and so far all they have shown off is the PvP content. So draw your own conclusions from that.

You are talking Cyrodiil end game content not most end game content lol.

I thought ganking was when a higher leveled character attacks a lower leveled one, or a person or group attacks someone with no chance of winning. Not, I'm doing some random quest and someone attacks me. Then again, never bothered to find out.

I'm sure each faction has their PvE area in Cyrodiil in their own little area, not like all over the map and stuff

lolwut?

In their http://elderscrollsonline.com/en/media/videos/411 most of what is shown is PvE, a player fighting mobs and groups fighting bosses. They even talk about at lvl cap there being Raids and adventure zones.

I've played on more then enough PvP servers/games to realize that anybody who loses a PvP in the open world generally complains that they were ganked. PvP happens on PvP servers...a lot. The idea of "doing someone else" is so broad and vague to usually have no meaning. Like I said if you lose a PvP fight most people will complain that they were ganked.

I'm playing Age Of Wushu as we speak, it's a real PVP mmo but even with it's harsh PVP you hardly get attacked constantly because their are major penalty's for PK's. You go around constantly griefing then you will find yourself hunted down by player police or bounty hunters or npc police and punished.

Cropsford? That's a village that was just being built at the time of Oblivion, and there was no indication that it had been around before.
ZMO lore department at its best again?

Edit: I looked it up and it looks like the quest description only said that they were building a settlement AT Cropsford, not building Cropsford itself.

Hopefully there are bounties in this game, i want to have a huge bounty on my head and be outlawed :P
