True Story: In the army, when out in the field... Spam (on cheap crackers with CheezeWhiz) was considered a delicacy....

Yes... military rations are THAT bad

Missed whether you said you were male or female

Wouldn't wanna give you the wrong impression lmao

Someone passed me this photo to use on FB some time back and I loved the pic, but when it scaled down to an avatar pic I noticed this too and it made me lol

I since made my FB profile non-anonymous and put up my actual photo, but decided to keep the img for my posting avatar in forums.... in part because I love how a quick glance kinda does look like that

It was worse on FB though because you couldn't see the tip of the katana... only the hilt sticking out lmao

Yeah, I find most gamer girls (in real life and the internet) to be obnoxious and socially awkward. Usually they have some kind of underlying issue that lead them to games, such as depression. It's about the same deal for guys. When I say 'gamer', I mean people who play games as a primary hobby, as in enough time to be a part time job.

I think these are correlative to why we get these dramatic 'not into games anymore' threads.

I usually opt to be female on threads about being female, and sometimes on MMOs where it will net me an unfair advantage over those who are forced to grind their skills and work for their gear. The psychological impact on others is usually a plus as well.

Actually, perhaps 90% of the people who like to respond to polls are male. Us women are usually off makin' sammiches 'n stuff.

Ok so far laughter from this was worth the wade.
From a cat lady as well, damn you're sneaky.

Got to say know many female gamers, and be damned if they were any different online then male gamers.
Except usually I tend to hold the web page open for them.

Back in the day, I was in a CS:S clan that had 4 girls in it (of the 12-15 total members) and they were pretty damn good. I dated a girl for 6 years who played everything but FPS. I guess girl gamers has never been something foreign to me.

Yeah, but they always play the mainstream stuff because instead of scouting a good game from the desire to play, they're just either pressured into playing what is popular at the time, or they learn video games through observation.

what did you edit on my post? I don't notice anything different  I'm guessing misclick trying to quote lol. Done the same on my forums I dunno how many times lol

And I dunno how I forgot to include the "Women don't play games, they're supposed to be in the kitchen" reply in common "Girl Gamer" thread replies lol

PS: Extra mayo for me pl0x... kthx
Yeah, that was just a mis-click, I didn't edit anything in your post.

I know - I was really enjoying Gay porm Night too.
It doesn't matter what you post, the avatar waggle-brows make it either skeevy or snarky or both. But sometimes, as in that quote, it's hilarious.

Can't tell if being sarcastic... if you aren't, do you live in a remote area or something. I know people who play games with varying degrees of interest or intensity. Because they like them... honestly, the gender card is just so out of date, as are statements like that. Boys learn video games through observation or peer popularity to. I have a couple nephews getting into gaming and that's how they decide what they want.

Well yes, most boys are mainstream, as the term mainstream implies, but to this day, in most every circle women are still molded to adhear to patriarchal society. That includes video games. While they may very well have gotten their foot in the door, so to speak, they still are only really reflecting what the popular boy does, and haven't really come into their own yet in the field.

Heh. Where are you getting these "facts"? Just curious... no offense, but it just sounds very dated. Especially for the current generation of teens/20 year olds

I'm not quoting any facts. And yes, I'm sure that it 'sounds very dated', as people tend to believe that all social inequalities or injustices have been vanquished long ago. However, again from observation, it is the older women 30s-40s and even early 50's who grew up with the dawn of computer games, and who play now-obscure titles like old sierra games or 3D Realms games. These women have delved into their own interest in video games. It is the current generation of teens/20 year old women who are either pressured into playing Gears of War, Halo, CoD, or WoW by their respective dating partners, or who are simply marketed to by the Wii or games like DDR, and ____ Hero.
