I think he meant AAA GotY award. Wasteland 2 won't be winning any. Not that I would expect a kickstarter game to though.
For me, the current ranking is Trevor > Franklin > Michael. The first one is truly something that we haven't met as a protagonist yet, I have high hopes for him. As for the rest - you couldn't go with a hood story, only the last who I'm not feeling yet.
They're excellent additions to the storyline and both of them offering game-changing perspectives. A lot of player (including myself) liked them more than the base game, so you should definitely give them a try.
As for the PC port, well ... Usually I'm not complaining about the such details (especially if it's a GTA where this is the last thing that matters), but this time I have to bring this up: the graphics looks seriously outdated. Some models are really low poly, some textures are blurry and far from hi-resolution, and the lack of AA is conspicuous as well. The more material I see, the more I recognize these aspects of the visual experience. Looking at the big picture it's so-so, I'm not saying it doesn't have a decent tone, but come on ... it's a $100 million title to be released in 2013. Okay-okay, I get it - even the console version of GTA IV had performance issues, why would be rational to expect something prettier this time? Nevertheless, I hope the PC port will be well-optimized and enhanced with extra features so it'll be able to effectively use the performance of the modern configurations.
No one expected The Walking Dead to win some either, but yet it happened. Don't be too proud of this technological AAA game they are constructing. The ability to power an open world is insignificant to the power of the fans. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzs-OvfG8tE#t=1m12shttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zzs-OvfG8tE#t=1m12s

Walking Dead's not the only example. Demon's Souls was quietly brought to the US with no advertising and was put up against big anticipated titles like Assassin's Creed II, Dragon Age: Origins, The Sims 3, Uncharted 2, and Arkham Asylum. http://www.gamespot.com/best-of-2009/game-of-the-year/index.html?page=2.
Exactly why I found his lack of faith disturbing. Hahaha.
It all comes down to if Watchdogs svcks or not. If it is amazing, and there are even more amazing games (there will be). I could see GTA V being crowded out in favor of other games simply because of the AAA congestion in that list. Or The Last of Us as the weakest contender. Infinite's nomination is in the bag for sure. GTA V is almost assured as well though... hmmm.... Last of Us and Watch Dogs are probably the weakest contenders, and we may yet see some surprise hits that dazzle us. /thinking out loud so if anything doesn't make sense just a warning.
I can't imagine a Rockstar game (excluding LA Noire and Max Payne 3) not winning GOTY. Their open world games simply beat all competition in my opinion. As a huge Bioshock fan, I will have to say that Infinite will likely fall second to GTA V. It's a fantastic game, but not as impressive as many would suggest.
Industry is changing, we'll see if Rockstar's game changes with it. Which is... probable. Though only time will tell.
The real question is 'Is the Industry changing for the better?' and if not, is it really good to go along with it?
There are a billion different GOTY awards, both Bioshock and GTA are likely to win a bunch.
I don't know, maybe. Possibly, depending on what gets nominated.
The idea of having fully explorable seafloor and searching for treasures intrigues me. And I liked that the game will have more character customization options back (e.g. haircuts, tattoos etc.)

I know, right? http://www.thegtaplace.com/forums/topic/28080-new-gtav-previews-and-screenshots/of new information released earlier today (from various sites) and http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=553952&st=0, for those who didn't see.
Yikes, there's a lot of neat ideas in there that, if lived up to, will produce quite a deep game. But if this is a Fable-type list of promises...
Regardless, this might be the first game in a while I've bought for my 360. Not on release day though, I'm still cheap and will never buy a game on release day again after Skyrim.
Really looking forward to V now, a lot of what made San Andreas great is back

Switching between characters with a single click of a button. That's just awesome.
If it's all true, which it most likely will be. These guys aren't known for disappointing people, then I think this is a major Game of the Year contender. It will be no slouch. They have already done enough technically impressive stuff from a coding perspective and the sheer logistics of telling a story like this that it's going to be a mammoth when "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fHGUqZkp90" season hits.
