I'm still slack jawed and stunned at what a reversal this game is compared to their other games post PS2.

September 17th will define this generation.

Look for new online previews from Game Informer, IGN, etc. GI said they're actually going to have 4 new articles on Thursday. The press saw a new demo recently. First time Rockstar has shown anyone the game besides Game Informer for their cover reveal last November.

Michael Trevor sums up this new Rockstar. They had everything on the PS2. They did, they really had a winning (silly but awesome) formula. Then they got to the current generation and wanted to do the serious side of things. Now they want to somehow do both, and reconcile that. Now that's some smart story telling, grounded in actual experience of the company too. Anyone really between two worlds. That's all I asked.

Hopefully they will have redeveloped the bowling system in the game :P

Neither of the main characters appeal to me, but the game as a whole looks like it could be great.

There are three main characters, I'll just assume you meant none of them.

Agreed. IV was my least favorite in the series. V seems to be a mix of both old and correct Rockstar. Best of both.

I like it for the better world, better physics, and things like that. The storyline was a bit serious. It it still a great game. And I liked the storyline too, the controls were an upgrade (except the cover system which was clunky)

GTA IV was a great game, but Vice City is my favorite GTA game.

Same here.

On the subject of GTA IV, I thought it was a good effort. Not on the same level as those who came before it, but still good. Just hope in GTA V people won't constantly call you to go bowling or grab some chicken. :shakehead:

And for those who have played TLaD, http://cdn.medialib.computerandvideogames.com/screens/dir_3010/image_301029.jpg. I liked these trailers so far. Can't wait for more previews.

I'm watching the trailer now.
I like michael and I think I'll enjoy his missions.

Franklin looks cool also.

Trevor seems abit...... Odd.

Overall I think it's looking promising and seeing how the 3 different characters interact will be cool.

Coming off of LA Noire and Red Dead, Rockstar has a lot of pressure to deliver a good performance from their actors.. however I feel like the textures are just terrible. The shaders, depth of field all of that stuff is great, but I feel like they have made no progression at all when it comes to textures and resolution.

Tell me it isn't just me.

It's not just him, it's just ultimately texture quality doesn't matter a hoot.

Isn't this the first drug using protaganist in the GTA series? (one of the protaganists anyway)

Well openly used. Vercetti could collect "white gold" as a collectible ie drugs. If he used them or not isn't known, but if you find all of them it adds one to your room decorations. Kind of ambiguous though.

Yeah and CJ would always refuse whenever Ryder or Big Smoke offered him any. Niko was just a tool. Don't care what he did.

No idea about Claude from GTA3, I know he could collect the packs. Dunno if it was added to his house though, so probably not.
