Do not want.

Lucky for you, that's not what you're getting, as that picture is photoshopped.

Also, if the game really does end up like that, you don't have to play. Problem solved.

You didn't correctly diagnose the problem, but close. The game will end up like that, people won't play because of it, and it will fail. That's the problem, and it's not solved.

Elder Scrolls was never made to be multiplayer....therefore any MMO or multiplayer version of the game will end up being completely different...

therefore, Look at this not as an ES game....but as a MMO with the Elder Scrolls stamp on it.

its no wonder the fanbase are unhappy, many have played the Elder Scrolls series especially for the reason that it isn't multiplayer.....starting adding multiplayer and the vast majority of long time fans will just aviod it.

Personally, I play FPS games for multiplayer, and every other type of game as single player....or at most co-op with friends.
I agree and co-op has always been fun.Gather a few buddies around a sofa and a six pack beer!

Look I did explain to you about disingenious arguments I believe half a year ago when we were on opposite sides in the Skyrim forum.

Now that we are I suppose on the same side it does not make it any better.
For this side to have any legitimacy we need to employ proper logic and reasonable arguments.
'Shut up or shove off' just makes you look like a [] and no-one is helped by that.

I think that when some dev interviews come out and people see the game in action at E3, it is going to begin to garner a huge following. Some people will never be happy, and that's too bad, but I don't think this game will fail. Of course, you have your opinion, and this is only mine, but we will see.

You do realise you cannot actually kill any daedra let alone a Daedra Prince, right?
You can banish them unto the waters of Oblivion but never kill them.

Blizzard are the biggest idea thieves in the history of mankind BUT they do change it around enough to make it their own AND they do make great games

I mean sure SC was a star ship troopers/war hammer/ alien rip off but they did not copy paste :P and SC is a great game

sure diablo is like a story from medieval Europe, but we all love Gothic tales and again a great game

Blizzard are masters of metamorphoses, they take good ideas and they mutate them into good ideas that look different :P

Your post above clearly indicates you have missed the point. Any quality MMO can garner a following. The entire point is that Elder Scrolls already HAS a following, however the game in production does not reflect the game play expected by the current following.

I don't think I missed the point. I'm one of the current TES followers. I think a lot of the current TES fanbase are console players. Some PC players are like me and are already happy with the way the MMO sounds. Others need to be convinced, but will come around. A few of the PC TES followers will not come around. The MMO still needs more fans to be successful, so yeah, they need to garner a larger following.

Hang in there!

Keep bumping so the devs see it and understand where the community is and then get all demotivated and shut down the product!!

You know, I'm kind of just trying too stay confident that the devs care about the setting as much as we do. I'm also hoping that this won't hurt the single player series... At worst, I hope we end up with an MMO that's fun for the people who want to play it and doesn't affect those who don't, but if it's a decent game and another chance to explore Tamriel, it can't be all bad. It's worth remembering that there have been other spinoff titles in the series, and those didn't hurt the main games. Between Daggerfall and Morrowind we got Redguard and Battlespire, and look at what we ended up with after those. I thought this article kind of summarized what everyone else is getting at, and tries to calm some of the fears that are going around: http://www.neogamr.net/news/the-elder-scrolls-online-a-different-perspective

It is being negatively viewed because the Elders scrolls is not a mmo and it should never be an mmo. You can't have 50,000 dovahkiins. You can't have 50,000 Hero of Kavatch's. You can't have 50,000 Nerravarines. You can't have the elders scrolls and have an mmo.

*moderator note: Do not flame other members every if you first apologize for doing so, it's still against forum rules*

Of course there can be an Elder Scrolls MMORPG. However, you shouldn't play 'the hero' in it. You should simply be a denizen of Nirn. Just someone in the world, making their way in life.

A ESO mmorpg should be about one thing: Freedom.

Unlike so many restricting, flash in the pan copies of the WoW themepark, what I think players are really craving is a new world to truly exist and adventure in - not just a ride.

A themepark/sandbox hybrid would work best for ESO.

A game world where you create a character and from the start, the possibilities of what you'll become in the world are open to you.

It can be done really well with talented designers, programmers and writers on board. I'm not saying it's what we'll get but, here's hoping.

I will say though, that if this does turn out to be a WoW clone, I likely won't bother with it like many others.

Yeah, that was a good article.

Yeah, it could still turn out bad, but I wish people would give it a chance. We've only seen a few screenshots, and it could still really redefine the genre when it comes to freedom, for all we know. Sure, it's not one's be like the single player games, but it cold still be an awesome game, as far as MMOs go.

I know nothing about MMO's. I figured the picture was photoshopped. My question is, since it will be a MMO, what will be on the screen? Will the names of the characters be floating above the heads? Will there be a running-I guess you would call it a chat--between players on the screen? That stuff at the bottom of the screen, will something like that be there? I guess I am asking, what is the hud of a MMO like?
