Hearthfire - Thread #3

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 3:16 pm

I personally think Hearthfire will more then likely be a smaller add-on that introduces some new gameplay mechanics. However, I did some research for the larger dlc releases for Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim and might have a date for the next "big expansion." For every Elder Scroll game since Morrowind, it has taken about 1 year to release all dlc content. With Morrowind it took 11 months and 5 days from release to final expansion and 12 months and 7 days for Oblivion. Using that time frame, I predict that the next dlc will come out on 11/6/12, 12 months and 25 days after Skyrim released. And judging on the size of dlc's for each game, the second is always the new large area. Tribunal, Knights of the Nine, and Dawnguard were relatively small in scope, offering quests inside the same landmass as the rest of the game. The next dlc, Bloodmoon and Shivering Isles, offered completely new land masses, which is an indicator that Skyrim will have one as well.
You shoyld add fallout 3 to your calculations because skyrim is more similar to falloutthat oblivion...

Whenever i think about Hearthfire, a picture similar to this springs up in mind http://images1.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb20090810142260/uncyclopedia/images/4/43/The_Ultimate_Wizard.JPG
I'm hoping High Rock. Maybe Orsinium. The month Heart Fire does have some special occasions in High Rock and Orsinium, including Tales and Tallows, the Breton equivilant of Halloween....
Oh gods, Bethesda are gonna add talking Pumkins....

I want it to add the Psijic Island, and eye of magnus and make it the same length as Dawnguard. I am going to guess their will be 5 new DLC and maybe a few plug ins for new houses or horse armor.

Well, I wouldn't be buying horse armour and it'd take me a hell of a lot of convincing to buy one of those silly houses.

I feel fairly confident that the Psijics will be somehow involved. Maybe the Isle of Artaeum (I think that's the right one) will reappear near Skyrim?

Psijic Order, Synod, and Thalmor wizards please.

On a side note, Morrowind acrobatics were even better than Oblivion's. It was quite funny jump into the sky and then fall and die. xD

I'd like the DLC to focus on mages
Yeah, this is the same thing i was thinking

Id be for Whatever skill it was that made you run faster to be back, and hand to hand, but acrobatics is just silly, it should only be available for werewolves in werewolf form, and vampires, thats it.

So far all we have is a name. I think the necromancy / magic bets are the most accurate so far. But what I would like, would be a trip to Atmora. :D

I suspect Hearthfire will be small in scope. Since Microsoft has an exclusive on the first two DLC, I imagine 'the big one' will be the third. Besides, the name 'Hearthfire' sounds underwhelming.
One can always hope that Dawnguard and Hearthfire are just some snacks before a real expansion will come. I don't care if they're released first for another platform. In fact, I'm grateful that Bethesda had delayed the release for PC (my platform) giving me time to read the feedback so I could make up my mind and decide not to buy it. Had it been available from day one on PC too, I would have buyed it on an impulse!

I wonder if Achievements are going to be a problem if Bethesda wants to release a lot of expansion packs? are there a limit of how high the game score is for a game? like it can't go beyond 2000 or something? so they can't release more expansions because there aren't any more game score to add to the DLC?

I would actually like to have a DLC that takes place on one of the islands on Nirn, it would be perfect for a add-on as it could be about the size of SI. All i really want are spears then i would be happy.

I think this DLC will be about the Dwemer. Becouse there is a place in the Morrowind Tribunal Expansion called Hearthfire Hall. And it is filled with Dwemer Centurions and Spiders. Also there is a ghost of a Dwemer there named Radac Stungnthumz There is also a book named Hearthfire and also it is the name of one of the months.

I do not think that bethesda game studios "A.K.A" the in-house game company that makes the Elder Scrolls games, would make a dlc that short.

Dawnguard took me 3 hours to beat... it is very short. Not unless they had some good ideas about how the dwemer vanished. They could make it as long as Dawnguard.

But then almost every player would get mad for Bethesda Game Studios not making a Shivering Isles size dlc.

I'm hoping Hearthfire will have something to do with the eye of magnus but something tells me their saving that for a future TES game. I'll just stick to hoping Jygalagg shows up..though I doubt it at this point.

SI and KOTN were very long and fun. It's not the same feeling i had when playing Dawnguard. Maybe it's just because i don't like the vampires. And Dawnguard was 800 more microsoft points too. But im not here to complain.

I would want another epic werewolf dlc That actually includes werewolf factions(not the companions, they got rid of their lycanthropy and see it as a curse)and werewolf armor.

KOTN was only long because of the pilgrims road, which is tedious. I;m not even sure if SI is canon but it was good and long.

What it could be. Hopefully 3-4 hrs

Hearth Fire- You are wandering around Skyrim when you hear a thunder crack, and sonic boom. You look up to see a tear in the sky and a strange light emitting from the tear pointing somewhere. You decide it is best to tell the college of winterhold about it. When you arrive everyone is panicking and there are Psijic monks in the hall of elements waiting for you. When you approach them they tell you that you must come with them, and that the eye of magnus including several other artifacts were stolen. The artifacts could be sunder, mantella, wraithguard, sigil stones ect. Before they finish there is a mini earthquake and you fall down. The screen goes black and all you here are people screaming and a psijic monking say we must leave now. Suddenly a flash of light and your transported to their island. The monks get into detail how a order of necromancers have risen and they are being led by their lich king "name". The monks give you quests blaah blaah blaah, you get spell tomes and robes, and new stuff from then. Halfway through you have a chance to join the bad guys and they give you robes, and spell tomes. Finally at the end you learn what the eye of magnus does, it transcends someone to a higher existence for a short while. If you equip it in your powers you have unlimited magic for 180 secs, including powers like flying, mind bending where you force the target you are aiming at to kill themselves ect.

New Spells:

Teleportation

Water Magic

Earth Magic

Soul trap everyone with in 15 feet

Dragon Mounts

Unlock doors

Summon Lich

New Items:

Psijic Robes

Amulet of Magnus

Lich crown

lich robes

lich shoes

lich gloves.
