I really found it gob smacking how they failed do vampires in skyrim first time around. *shakes head* (dawnguard is an improvement but we still want proper feeding system and bat-like faces that the npcs have! and to fix the race bug that stops nords and some other races having the updated look)
Vampires should feed to get stronger not weaker.(only the order was the exception) so why they decided to recycle the oblivion system is anyone's guess. No vampiric strength or speed or jumping height, I'm just thankful for the vampire lord and that we did not get worse than what we had original, if feeding system gets changed and some vampiric enhanced unarmed/one/two-handed weapon damage and faster sprinting gets put in then I would be satisfied, though they should add some weaknesses too. temples etc.

When I came to this topic I was expecting some idiotic ideas, Glad to see I was wrong! But one thing I would add, even if it is small, is the Vampire Nightmares. Similar to the Beast blood, you don't get the Well Rested bonus from sleeping but you do get the old vampire Nightmares we used to have in Oblivion and Morrowind. Just another thing that would make being a Vampire a bit more fun.

Funny you mentioned this. I always thought about asking why the nightmares were gone, but I never remembered to do it when I came here.

What? Now vampires lost their eternal nightmares?

Huh? Vampires have "eternal" nightmares. Oh don't tell me, molag bal had a threesome with vaermia, with the first vampire ?

Not necessarily a threesome, but she may have something to do with vampires since in Morrowind Molag Bal had to get the cure for vampirism from Vaermina.

Don't know. All I know is that vampires always had nightmares. One vampire from Illiac Bay had nightmares during his days as a vampire, same for Morrowind and Oblivion. Molag Bal mentioned something about prying a cure from Vaermina to cure vampirism, so they are somehow tied. Who knows what really happens.

Molag Bal: Vaermina, I think Arkay is too prideful. I hate that arrogant jerk.

Vaermina: What in Oblivion do you want me to do about it?

Molag Bal: Give me one of the creatures from your nightmares and dark dreams. One that is neither dead nor alive that loves to feast on the flesh and blood of mortals! The scariest beings!

Vaermina: You want to make them manifest into Tamriel and be a patron?

Molag Bal: Yes.

Vermina: Fine, let us negotiate something.

I do not know. But Vaermina certainly is involved somehow.

"I see you have done as I asked, little vampire. It was not easy for me to obtain the cure, but I was able to pry it from Vaermina after some...discussion. You have earned it. Now I have eternity to punish my daughter for her defiance. Your curse is lifted. Yet...I wonder, will you miss the taste of blood on your lips? When you sleep, will you taste the salt and copper flowing over your tongue? Go, mortal. Bask in your precious sunlight."-Molag Bal.

Daedric six?
I assume they can, but can we really call it six when it comes to Molag Bal. Speaking of which is there any hint of Daedric Princes having relationships with each other?

Not that I know of. The lore folks might know better. Molag did have six with a hemaphrodite god(Vivec). And who knows what Sheogorath means by Daedric parties.

A Daedric party with Nocturnal, Azura. Molag Bal, Sheogorath, and Sanguine. That would be one hell of a party.

On topic: for anyone who has played Dawnguard do they go into detail about the purebloods or not really?

No detail. Just that purebloods are those turned by Molag Bal. The ritual is implied to be sixual. And it is tradition. That is all, I suppose.

Well dang. I will make sure I pay attention to the dialogue when I play. This whole pureblood thing seems kind of vague.

Yeah, they do more or less, Vampire that were turned by molag bal himself are pure-blooded and created their own bloodline, the second and third generation are purer than the thin-bloods (who are way down the bloodline) but are still half-breeds compared to the progenitors.

Molag Bal = source.

Lamae Beolfag (unknown bloodline)| Harkon and his family (volkihars) | other unnamed individuals = Pure-bloods.
Unknown progeny of Lamae. |The player. | other progeny = The second generation.

(in the case of the volkihar, second gens can still transform into vampire lords)

Ooh. Haven't played Oblivion or Morrowind, so I didn't know about these, but they sound interesting.

Anyway, glad this discussion's doing so well.
