Kingdoms of Amalur: Reckoning Thread #4

It's about as far from an "Elder Scrolls B game" as it can get. The gameplay and progression are worlds apart, not to mention the art styles are completely different.
I wouldn't say it's completely too far away from an Elder Scrolls game. Reckoning allows you the freedom to do what you want like Oblivion/Skyrim but for the most part the combat, Art Styles and Depth make it different and better I would argue.

This and TES are in different leagues. There is really nothing comparable between the two.

The Elder Scrolls series is seen by many to be the paradigm by which all other RPG's are judged.

For that reason how could anyone 'not' compare "Kingdoms of Amalur" to "Morrowind", "Oblivion" and "Skyrim"?

People forget what made their first Elder Scrolls game so much fun in the first place: The joy of discovery and the experience of something new.

Give a person too many Elder Scrolls games and as these very boards attest to you just get people complaining the game wasn't how they expected it to be or would have wanted it to be in relation to the last Elder Scrolls game they played.

"Kingdoms of Amalur" gives you something new to explore, experience and learn in.

This is what we loved in our first original Elder Scrolls games though it's curiously what many resent their latest Elder Scrolls game for.

Wierd that.

This.

I don't get how people are making any comparisons between the two.
That's partially the developer's own fault for boasting about having 'Ken Rolston, lead designer of Morrowind and Oblivion!' so frequently. :P
