Looks like you can forget it..

Hello Everybody !
I was watching Hearthfire since release ( Two days ? ).
I am really excited for it as I wanted domestic DLC the most.

Now the thing is , after I saw the trailer , one MAJOR question popped in my head.
Are there different architecture styles ?
( Can I build a house Dwemer themed for example )

The way it looks like , it won't be an option.
Now I've seen this Team Diary on Bethblog ( http://www.elderscrolls.com/community/skyrim-team-diary-6-hearthfire-0/ )
No word or even hint on that , can't say there is supposed to be a hint on that , but it looked like it , they are just showing off the Nordic theme , NOTHING else.

I don't play a Nord , I simply CAN'T and WON'T build a Nordic themed house , I need something that at least resembles my race ( Solitude , Breton ).
I can't even think of the Elven races.

Now if this is the case it's a great disappointment.
I'm still buying the DLC for the Adoption system.
Most probably if I ever make an Nord character again I'll give it a try.

What do you think on this matter ?

An English course might help you...

Jokes.

Yeah i agree, i hope to god there is more than one type of Architectural style, but if not that will do me... I'm a nord xD
One thing i would have loved to have is Eleswyr type architecture, loads of outlandish rugs and curtains and stuff :3

I can see how it bothers you but it's based it skyrim everything is Nord themed, the armors, the weapons, the food, etc. That's most likely all they are going to do until the next game, then it will be themed based on the place that game takes place. It's the Nord view of the world. They've done this in each game. I think because vikings and what not a popular right now is one of the reason the game has done so well.

I think we should be happy that they are even making the mod though I've been waiting for the official player homes/lairs Looking forward to more don't particularly mind the Nord theme that is the game. It's Bethesda's world, we just play in it.

I do believe we haven't seen everything Hearthfire has to offer.

The Diary does hint that we'll be getting more options with the houses than we can imagine. I really can't forsee them slighting specific players and charachters by cornering them to the Nordic theme house as some players despise Nords. They've been playtesting and tweaking this thing for the better part of a year.

I really can't see them putting a Whiterun inspired home in the frozen tundra of the Pale.

Well, I don't think they will be adding in any new kind of architecture, just the ones used in the game like the cabin-like style in Riften or the one in Whiterun. But for all we know, it could just be the default one used in the video and that's it (I think that was the style used in Whiterun). We don't know for sure.

I'm ashamed to post these screenshots , but it perfectly shows how I do want to build:
http://i1-news.softpedia-static.com/images/news2/ZeniMax-Online-Reveals-Aldmeri-Dominion-for-Elder-Scrolls-Online-2.jpg ( This is for Elven styles )

Also , this is the closest thing I get to Bretons but here:

Now, now, the houses in the first pic are ok, but the ones in the last are huge castles, not simple houses.

There's a mod for th.. kidding. They didn't show anything else in the trailer and they didn't mention anything at all in the diary. Unless the Beth folks want to surprise us, we won't have any other style than the nordic. I admit it would feel somewhat odd for an Orc or a Bosmer but hey, you can always RP that Skyrim's town planning doesn't allow any other style than the nordic :P

Did a quick search.
I don't thing the people who play Elves would want to build anything except http://images2.wikia.nocookie.net/__cb57526/elderscrolls/images/b/b1/Innersanctum_03.png
( Not in size , in style. )

Different house-building stules are probably suited to different climates. I expect if you built a shallow-roofed Elven-style home in Skyrim, the next heavy snowfall would cave it in.

I believe people are really expecting a lot out of this DLC when they aren't going to get it. Look at the trailer properly and look at the official information given.

Thought of the Reach , Haafingar , The Rift , Falkreath , Whiterun ?
Last I heard there's no snow.

Good point.

Well, I guess with a $5 DLC, you couldn't have everything you wanted.

Last time I checked, Solitude was originally designed for seat of the Imperials when they were in the province, and its architecture is Imperial. So how does Solitude suite your Breton?

How does Elvish architechture differ, anyway? The Thalmor Embassy and that elviish prison both looked fairly Nordish.

Well it's better than NORDIC isn't it ?
Don't forget High Rock is a part of the Empire.
And don't forget that Solitude's architecture is more 'civilized' than the most Nordic towns.

They are Nordic , the Elves didn't build them.

In my opinion, NO. And dont forget that Skyrim is a part of the empire as well, and both provinces have their own unique architecture, so whats your point? And Imperial doesnt = more civilized. It equals more fancy. Not the same thing.

All I'm getting from this thread is that you have an irrational hatred for a fictional race of people because of your make-believe choices as a fictional person. And because of those fictional beliefs, you are pitching a real-life fit about a $5 add-on to a game.

Also, I'm getting that you write in verse.
