I heard the "fix" for in the patch is that Beth has made the disc textures look washed out like the hdd textures are due to the way the game caches and loads. People will just think the washed out textures are normal, install the game to their hdd, see no change, and pat Beth on the back and say good job!!

...until the PS3/360 comparisons come out and people start wondering why the lead platform has such relatively blurry textures...

We can't confirm it without being banned. Which I think is screwed up. There is no "leaked" material at this point. They're pretty much censoring what gets posted on their forum in order to control publicity for obvious reasons.

Don't listen to me, I believe in conspiracies.

And the patch get's released on the 11th, I believe....

That's why the patch does the same thing to the ps3, silly! Beth is going for equality across the board! And when people say it doesn't look like trailers etc, they pop out that line about the game being rendered on xbox code on a pc. It just made it look a tiny bit better, due to faster loading of pc. And again, everyone pats them on the back, and says good job.

Got a regular copy (not pirated - it's sold already in Belgium)and the issue is there.

Why doesn't one of the mods let Beth know? (I am sure that they do) but could we have an official sticky saying if there is a problem or not please? And if it will be fixed?

Just stop posting this is an issue only existing on pirated leaked copies. I've got a regular copy, bought it yesterday in the shop in Belgium and the issue is definitely there. I have confidence in Bethesda that this is just a minor issue and it'll be patched quite fast but posting this is an issue only existing on pirated games is just wrong.

Where do patches save to on the 360?

Patches for 360 are basically saved in a cache folder of sorts on the HDD. You can delete it along with other cached data, and then you just redownload it.

Installing a game makes it run better. This is simply a fact.

Not necessarily. Halo 3 played worse when installed to the HDD; google it.

Anyway, I'm not too worried. For one thing, I have a Slim 360, and it's disc drive is much better than the older models (HDD seems to be better too).

I don't know if anyone remembers this, but a little game called Oblivion had terrible textures on any system, and I still enjoyed the hell out of it for 5 years on Xbox. I converted to PC gaming this year and will never turn back (but that's due to a hundred reasons, only one of which is graphics). But at the same time I was enjoying throwing all sorts of high resolution textures into Oblivion, I was also having a great time playing Morrowind and Daggerfall. The textures issue will be fixed, and until then, everyone will still have limitless amazing gameplay to enjoy. Graphics are just a little extra frosting.

Paranoid, and Beth couldn't cover this up of it were true; just delete the cache on the 360, and you revert back to the pre-patched version.

what exactly would a mod say? They have no connection to developers other then PMs they moderate the forums as payment they get a free copy of Skyrim nothing more nothing less.

Now Beth like todd or pete commenting is different they usually don't read the forums once in a blue moon they do.

The game isn't due for release until Friday 11th November so you shouldn't have been able to buy your copy in a shop, yesterday. Although it may not be pirated you have a leaked copy!

Apparently Bethesda are releasing a patch on day 1 that should fix some issues but no word as to whether it will fix this specific one or not.
