The Demo has to be under a pidly tiny 2GB, I wouldn't expect much to be in there truth be told.

Demo codes were able to be obtained through some crappy facebook game.

It isn't a big deal anyways though. The more interesting part looks to be the multiplayer demo and that doesn't come to the 17th unless you bought BF3. The only aggrevating part is that one of my friends played BF3 and he doesn't plan to check out the multiplayer demo at all. Ughhh.... why?

So... I just watched the trailer featuring, for a change, femshep. Yay - I do like Jennifer Hale's voice acting. It made me a little excited for the game.

I never bought the DLC that supposedly bridges the end of ME2 to ME3 - a cheesy tactic, I might add. If I pre-ordered ME3 (which was pre-ordered for me as an xmas gift), then they should give me the DLC.) *ahem* Anyway - should I get that last DLC ? I have a couple of complete game saves from ME1-ME2, I did all the DLC except Arrival.

Arrival is a nice DLC. Shame the way it's implemented doesn't work very well. When you get it the mission is available almost right from the start of the game, but it fits best at the end of the game.

If you had bought the DLC earlier and had it active from the beginning, decided to ignore it until you finished the main story, and then you finally go do it, it's weird. Suddenly after months of ignoring it, when you arrive it's oh god oh god we have only a few days left till bad stuff happens.

Hahaha, that didn't happen to me. I installed it and played an existing end game. But I imagine on my next playthrough it iwll be weird. Also I don't know if I can recommend it. It was kind of meh. Not bad, but not really good. If you like Mass Effect then there you go.

I just went through the Demo's first part. So far I have been very selective of the information I choose to take in. I was really skeptical about even doing the demo. But lack of willpower overcame me and I downloaded it from XBL. The first part was nothing really, but I refused to advance into the next part. The game wouldn't let me change my weapon anyway. So all is well and no spoilers.

Downloading the demo now, hopefully it doesn't reveal much. I've been avoiding any news on the game the last several months for that exact reason. I can't help but shake this funny feeling though. Currently it's my most anticipated game of the year but in the back of my mind I keep thinking about how ME2 was a step down from ME and Dragon Age 2 was a step down from ME2 and DAO....a big one. I get the feeling I won't be satisfied with the end of this fine series. After all when I first beat the original ME I had high hopes for the series but Bio ware has let me down of late and don't appear to be the company I once loved.

Have played the first part of the demo. Can't seem to get my Shep looking quite right despite copying the code from ME2 exactly. :glare: She just looks constantly pissed off...

Ah! I was wondering about that code. I will do another run. Still, it seems that there are issues with not being able to holster your weapon in combat areas. I wonder if this was tied to me not being able to swap weapons...

If I understand it right, Bioware cut the holstering animation due to the limited console RAM. It appears to be the same way for the PC. Can you not mod ME on the PC like you can TES? If not, should I get ME for the PC, if I have it for the XBOX?

Say that again? Does a holstering animation really use up that much RAM?

That's what I thought. It seems that it is similar to Beth combining armor to get more loaded on the screen. Not just that but...
Spoiler
The trial was cut from the start.
That was one of the things I was looking forward to going into ME3...."Sorry, we took that out. I know... svcks to be you."

That's the thing I considered it a spoiler because I haven't been following the game. It's possible that the mission is well known so take my warning with a grain of salt.

Also for those unable to play the demo I've added a http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WCXHzbEDK5E&feature=related link in this post and the OP.

:swear:

You know what makes me angry? They added Clint Mansell to give the game the pathos that it so clearly otherwise lacks. His music is going to cover up all of the gaping holes and inadequacies.

Damn you Clint Mansell, you sellout, you.

The footage was totally unremarkable until the 12-minute mark where he inserts his tearjerker.

Well, just played the demo. It seems okay, plays a lot like ME2 for the most part. Biggest thing for me to fix so far would be the FOV. It seems like that have it scaled back to like 50. Hopefully they will have this adjustable before release.

What I liked was that the skills are MUCH more customizable than ME2. There are 3 different levels of power evolution, so will be able to customize your character a bit more to your playstyle.

DLing the demo, after class I'll play it, if I enjoy it I'll probably get ME2 off the marketplace, then I'll run through the first two to get my story the way I like it.

Question though, I've never gotten any ME DLC, are they necessary ? From a story/gameplay perspective mainly.

I just played through the demo as well, and I'm really enjoying it. I'm glad grenades are back, even if they're the more traditional kind instead of those disc grenades from ME1. It seems Bioware kept their word with the talents and skills as well since there's a lot more of both. It's a bit early to tell, but it doesn't look like we'll be able to max out Shepard before the end of playthrough 2 this time, thankfully. I like the tweaks they've made to health as well. They seem to be combining ME1 and ME2 this time around with a sort of "heart containers" system like in Resistance. It's a nice compromise between traditional health and the T-1000 regenerating health that's in every game ever nowadays.

I do wish they had brought back looting and standard XP (from enemy kills rather than scripted points in quests and some containers) though.

If the rest of the game is like what was shown in the demo, it's likely to be a good game. It's rekindled my interest in it, something which I lost after certain decisions like adding multiplayer. I actually hope I'll be eating my words about the multiplayer as well.

EDIT: Also, does anybody else really, REALLY want to be able to

I played through the demo, too. I'm cautiously optimistic about the game now. I've learned not to get too eager about any game, though, as few of them can live up to the hype.

It would appear that Bioware scrapped the hacking/bypass minigame, which is something I am so, so thankful for. The minigames are the main thing that deters me from playing through ME2 again. That fact alone might make ME3 the most enjoyable in the series, for me.

Frankly, it does blow my mind that Space Batman didn't have one, I mean, come on!

PS: On a side note, am I the only one with a serious Bromance for Garrus?
