Mass Effect Thread #56

  • What is this?

The Cerberus Daily News was, once upon a time, a news feed posted each day on the Cerberus Network within http://masseffect.bioware.com/. Every day had a brand new update, discussing current events in the Mass Effect universe outside of what was experienced within the game itself.
These updates were recorded here so they could be followed http://www.cerberusdailynews.com/?feed=rss2. After a solid year of updates, BioWare discontinued the official daily updates and the CerberusDailyNews.com community now contributes daily unofficial updates for your entertainment.
CerberusDailyNews.com is not owned or operated by BioWare. We are just big fans of their work and wish to make it more accessible.

Ah, but the ones I've been posting are official updates. Or so I believe.

Someone is trolling, and trolling hard, on youtube. They posted the entire ending video/audio and named it "Mass Effect 3 -- Official Launch Trailer". Not cool...
This is way I only use YouTube for battlefeild 3 online kill cams

Ah, the CDN. I had no idea it was a regular site. I thought it was just through the game.

Spoiler
I'm glad you already know 100% beyond a reasonable doubt that they plan on releasing alternate ending DLC's. I highly doubt they will I honestly don't get the idea of how they hyped, and or hinted, to a positive ending. You know what I felt at the end of each game? Uncertainty and fear, knowing my demise was only merely delayed. Besides there's still a chance for galactic civilization to rebuild again, only this time without the threat of reapers.

Spoiler
At what point did I say that I'm a 100% sure that they are? I'm more on the bandwagon that EA should throw out Bioware after this fiasco. Wasn't Dragon Age 2 enough to alarm someone that there be idiots writing for Bioware? To play devil's advocate, I see as a good buisness move to cover it's own XXX that they release additional DLC that leads to a better ending. I brought up the hype comment due to the many interviews where it was either explicitly mentioned or subtly mentioned that doing all the things in the game will lead you to the "Golden Ending". Last time I checked, all three of those were dark brown...and looked like they came off of toilet paper.

Unless you believe that they are BSing us all and what they really mean is that: hey It doesn't matter if you do all the side-quest missions or not to stockpile up war efforts and play a gazillion hours of MP to boost your readiness.....at the end of the day you have these 3 endings where the only difference between the bad and worse variants of each of them is whether or not London eats a giant Reaper laser sandwich.

I'm not chastising you and the fanbase who thinks like you who like those endings. I just think its BS that they are out of the box, going to shove them down our throats more than those creepy [censored] of Liara and Tali. Because honestly, what's the XXXX point if I waste (X) ammount of hours doing (Y) amount of quests only to get 3 stevenkingariffic endings. You really think I'll play for (Z) more playthroughs, or for that matter anyone else who despises these endings. No. It will sit with my hard copy of ME2 on my table as I play more Skyrim....or get adventurous and play this "Catherine" game that I'm borrowing from a friend.

Read above, it's a fan site. It updated the in game updates in an archive. Then after the CDN shut down it was fan updates. Now the more recent updates have all been official. As the CDN in game ME2 has started up again for one last week of updates.

Thats my copy preloaded on Origin. Now I have to wait. Any idea when it will be released in Europe? Am hoping for midnight on the Thursday 8th going into the 9th (ala Steam) but know that when they said the demo would be out on a certain date it was 9am PST....? :( Anyone got any experience with it?
I heard that if you start the the game it will tell you exactly when it unlocks.

Edit
Interesting, the forums are slow by a few seconds.

Edit3
I won't get my game till the 7th most likely. Has to ship. :cryvaultboy: But at least it's the final countdown until the day it ships.

Dear god why did they force you to have to sit through 45+ minutes of KOA just for a gun for ME3....not cool EA, seriously.

Aaah interesting - I'll try this when I get home. Thanks!!

Um, why? Is it so much of a hardship to just start the game, walk away and let the 45 minutes run? Or just, you know, don't get the extra content. No one's holding a gun to your head....

So, the game has already been released in some parts of the world, and due to BW's people saying they nor EA do not mind if you trick the release date check, some americans and europeans are already playing it. So, the spoiler season is officially open :hehe:

Still few hours of downloading to go for me.

Spoiler
Wait wait wait.
Didn't they say that you can run through the MQ and still win against the reapers, but you will get a really crappy ending.
And the ending where the reapers win? They said if you build the galaxy at war to full, you get the best endings.
The three mentioned seem like pretty crap last ditch effort things. Maybe, just maybe......
This might be worth spoiler tagging. :stare:

I like this thread, it's far more trustworthy than Youtube videos and BioWare Social, so I'd like if y'all covered 'em spoilers at least until everyone has the game.

IGN's live stream is going up in about an hour and will last 2 hours. I have no idea if they will show spoilers or not, I'll probably watch since I got nothing better to do at the moment. If your going to get ME3 and don't want to deal with Spoilers, I wouldn't watch it. I'd wait for the review that goes up and heck I'd probably just read the number if I don't want to get spoiled too much.
