OK, folks. Please do not post about Spoilers about the end of this game. I do not have a Spoilers section for ME to move them to.

If you have to discuss the ending, put it in spoiler tags or I will give you plenty of time to play the game during your suspension from here.

People are saying the game has tons of auto-dialogue and the number of neutral options and "Investigates" has been enormously reduced. I really don't see much of a difference between the full game and the demo where Bioware said they cut back on dialogue to compensate for size.

This is a really big concern, as my typical main character isn't a racist, but hates the Council and is 90% paragon. Also, companions on the ship have become "Kasumized", where they have only a few short conversations with minimal input from the player.

I take back my previous statement, I'll pass on this game for now.

But I am almost certain the reviewers will ignore these issues: "ign: omg chobot is in it! 10/10!!!11"

Almost time to whoop some reaper butt.

I'm doing the midnight release and am very excited to get my hands on this game after playing the hell out of that demo.

May pull an all-nighter since I have no work tomorrow.

T-3 Hrs until my midnight launch party starts. And the funny part about getting ME3 is: I haven't even gotten 25% of the way through

Seeing as how nobody I can see has posted it, Bioware has been posting as "Emily Wong", live-blogging from Earth. Originally it was about Earth's comm buoy difficulties (she can only communicate beyond Earth with a funky device called QEC, and only using text), but bigger events started happening and she's now talking about it.

No spoilers in the font (this is BioWare, I doubt they're spoiling). Try not to subscribe, I have heard rumors if you subscribe, spam bots will hunt you down and spoil the game for you.

Wow, seriously? People actually use spambots to spoil games for people? The lengths people will go to just to troll on the internet, that's just pathetic.

Im pretty sure that your importable characters are embedded within your gamertag. I have access to import characters into ME2 myself that I haven't had the saves for since back in '09.

What shold I do about Mass Effect 1? I just started yesterday (had to download it on Xbox Live, took awhile on this connection, and I just finished 2 on Saturday) so I'm only about 3 or 4 hours in. I would like to beat it before starting 3, but then again everyone is going to be starting 3 tomorrow and I don't want to get left behind.

If I get, say 6 or 7 hours into the first game can I still import my save, or do you have to beat it to import it and have it affect 3? Will it be enough to just import my Mass Effect 2 save?

Decisions, decisions...Bah.

You can only import completed saves. Don't worry about getting left behind - you can sit back here with me ( I havn't even gotten to the part where you get Miranda in your party yet in ME2).

The best thing to do is just import the ME2 save. To have it fully customized to your choices you would have had to play through ME1 import that save to ME2, then play through ME2 and import that ME2 save into ME3.

I would just finish ME1, import it to ME2, finish it, then import that to ME3. I completed both games in roughly 66 hours (trying to do everything and leave nothing incomplete including side missions). So you could probably knock them both out in a week and hop on ME3 this weekend. I wouldn't be in any rush to jump into ME3 if you want to make sure the game is tailored to your choices.

I probably won't play until this weekend even though my saves are complete. I don't have the time to play during the week. So if you do decide to finish ME1 and 2 with one save and start this weekend you wont be the only one starting late

Ha. Well do you think I'm missing much not playing 1? I mean I know everything you learn in 2, so it's not like there'd be any major revelations. The only real concern I have (other than it being fun of course) is how it'll affect my game in 3. I mean maybe I can start 3 with just my ME2 import and then go back and beat 1 afterward and import that for my second playthrough. Gah, I don't know. But kids in my class will be starting 3 tomorrow so I'd like to be able to talk about it and not come across any spoilers..

I believe you have to beat it to import a save. Without spoiling the specifics, I will say that the most important decision that you make in the game is at the very end.

If you simply can't wait until you beat ME1, you could always download Mass Effect: Genesis, which is a tool that lets you simulate a save file from ME1. However, it's nowhere near as good as simply completing the first game since a couple major missions and all of the side quests are left out.

Then go with this:

Do you have all DLC for ME1?

Yes - play through the rest of ME1 and continue thru 2, then 3.

No - Just import your already finished ME2 save.

So I'm guessing for the digital versions it goes by your timezone for the midnight release?
