Ok the Zombie/cyborg dog Rex is a sure companion for me. Glad its not just a a robot. I'm also gonna find Raul, Cass, or Veronica. Hard to pick.

Question about the perk for ed-e. It says enemies will show up on the compass but don't enemies show already when you spot them?

No prob. I'm going into the game open minded. Plus, I don't really like any of the factions. I like being a wild card. They all seem interesting, but it's fun to serve no one and see where that takes you. Add to that, that I rarely use companions. Like I mentioned, it seems like evil players are getting hosed. Though, that happens alot in games, so it doesn't surprise me.

That last part is the truth. I'm hoping this will be one game that tries to break that mold. It's a good start that there is no white or black faction that is "Good" that I MUST follow. That is one of my very few disputes with the Fallout 3.

What happens if you have a companion and meet one of the others? Does dialogue just change and the option to recruit or do their mission is greyed out?

You have to have the character in your party to do character specific quests so I imagine it won't show up as a conversation until they're in.

Yeah but with ED-E, they'll show up sooner when you're even farther away.

Doesn't sound like anything I'd find useful since I usually charge in blind anyway but it's there.

Agreed. I love how I could blow up Megaton, and slaughter tons of people, but the BoS was still all dandy to me. I just want the options. And, I still think Vegas will more than deliver. :tops:

Showstopper: I think having him increases the range in which they show upp. Essentially like boosting your perception.

Anyone else think veronicas perk seems like one of the more useful? Instead of having to find a workbench you can just use her to craft through dialogue.

Yeah. I'll like it for hardcoe, as I intend to craft alot in that playthrough.

I have a huge Felicia Day bias, so I want her on my team anyways.

Also, I loot a TON. So, I will be traveling home often anyways.

Eh, I' rather have one half of the dog face robotic and the other flesh. Maybe it's cliche. I just don't want to look at Brain when I'm talking to Rex...

Anybody else disappointed by Fawkes replacement Lily is an extreme disappointment. Making the only supermutant companion in the game a "badass granny" just seems juvenile. It's like the developers said "Who know who's big right now? Betty White. Let's put an old woman in the game. People will like that." It's just... ugh, I have to stop thinking about it because it frustrates me. For the first time since the game was announced, my interest has waned. I'll still get the game, but I'll probably avoid Lily like the plague.

And anybody also notice how the only two ethnic characters are mutants (Raul being presumably Spanish and Lily being presumably African)? Unfortunate implications abound.

At least she'll probably have a personality. Fawkes and the rest of the companions in F3 might as well have been robots for the most part.

I think it's great and not at all juvenile. I think it really underlines the idea that The Master dipped a whole bunch of people in the FEV vats and many lost their identities to the resulting changes. If they'd made her an ex-navy seal or some crap like that it would be a huge cliche.

Riiiight...just like Tabitha is offensive to the alt-lifestyle folks. I swear, some people just go looking for controversy everywhere.

I miss the days when fans of a video game loved it and went with it. Now everyone has to be Politically Correct as possible.

? Really. I don't want another Fawks(personality wise and gameplay wise.) Lily is cool. If she still has her old personality this would be quite funny.

Tabitha is female.

Not from what I read. the other Super Mutants KNOW Tabitha is a male, but Tabitha somewhere along the line went nuts and believes he's a girl.

Lily is a very unique character. Why is it juvenile? I mean, she's going to be a killing machine, and then she will juggle past memories. It's an intriguing contrast. By the way, why was it even worth pointing out the race thing? I mean, really.

I am happy with Lily. Hopefully she will tell us more about Vault 17.

Also the Devs should have made female super mutants more female like body wise. FO Tactics did.

I don't care that they are mostly white (I'm half white) and that Raul and lily are African and Mexican. I just would like one black human or another race mutant i don't care. Just disappointed because I think 200 years after the war there would be a lot more mixed people you know.

Tabitha is female.

You're missing the point. Whether or not Tabitha was male or female before being turned into a supermutant, the very idea of it got a bunch of people up in arms about the implications. The point is, "don't go looking for malice and bigotry where there is none." Sometimes things just turn out in certain ways and it doesn't mean that anyone was being prejudiced or insulting. It's a game. Trying to imply that making the only non-caucasian companions non-humans was done on purpose by a person that is a racist is just absolutely ridiculous.

How do we know there aren't? I personally can't tell someone's racial make-up by looking at them...not completely, anyway. Besides, I usually don't spend much time trying to figure out how white someone is when I meet them. Does it really matter?
