Meet the New Vegas Companions

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:19 am

Said this in my last post, but no one saw it yet.

Surprised there are absolutely no evil companions. I'm seeing a companion from most groups, but not CL..

Also, no dogmeat surprises me. Rex must be taking his place.

I will remain skeptical, as this list seems incomplete, because everyone is a good or at least slightly gray character.

I noticed what you did Kiebler, and evil or not the Caesar's Legion may be, but I will be doing evil things when I join them so this basically means I can't have a decent human companion. Maybe Arcade if I'm lucky and he lets me murder.

So it seems like Cass will be much more fitting for my first character, being that he will have been raised by Caravan merchant from the Hub. Interesting. I wonder if you can get her Caravan company up and running again.

That's the great thing about New Vegas. Even "Evil" people will have redeeming qualities. It will be up to you do decide if they are "Good" or "Evil." 100% evil would not make a good companion. What's to stop them from killing you, violating your corpse then eating you? :chaos: Also their story will be something Evil not Grey.

I am sick of Black and White Fallout *cough* FO3 *cough*

Boone - Former NCR
Veronica - BOS
Raul - slave
Eddy - Former Enclave (speculation) - Former BOS (speculation) - Shop security in Primm
Rex - Former police dog - Former Caesars Legion - Kings
Cass - Water Merchant (FO1?) - Cassidy Caravans
Arcade - Former Enclave - FotA
Lily - Former Masters Army - Jacobsville

True.
But characters won't be good/bad anymore, they're gray.
So hopefully none are "goody goody two-shoes" but more like "Well, you're an allright fella but you're asking me to blow up a casino filled with innocent people just so that this one truly evil guy inside doesn't escape again..."

@Styles and Mr. Fish: I know that they will be gray, but it is a little odd that they all seem gray leaning towards a nicer end.

Great news! I'm already making plans! :P
1st Playthrough: Raul and Rex, as they will both roll their eyes as my character goes on about how he is a crusader of justice!
2nd Playthrough: Ed-E and Lily will be invaluable assets for my stealthy character
After that who knows!

Cass - Water Merchant (FO1?) - Cassidy Caravans

I doubt it, it seems like she has an independent Caravan company that specializes in water. Also, I think the Crimson Caravan had to have been sabotaging her company, being the hardcoe company that they are.

Come on it was a good game lol.
Idk about Kieb but as far as me I want to be able to do evil things or for that matter, whatever I want without my companion being angry. Or maybe one companion who laughs maniacally with me as we hold hands and skip through towns and murder folks.

Well I think that they are meant to be likeable.
Like, you really really like the companion, then all of the suddenly they drop a bombshell that makes you go "WHO THE [censored] ARE YOU!!?!".
But yeah it would have been nice with a really really really evil son of a gun. *cough* Hanged Man *cough* :shifty:

The missing ninth companion is Azrael Babyroaster, a cybernetically-enhanced human-deathclaw hybrid powered by childhood innocence.

I agree. I'm psyched for this game.

@Mav. I usually stray between nuetral and evil. Which is why this bugs me a bit. I want to play all sides against each other though, so it's not a big deal.
Gotta say though, if this is complete, any CL fans just got screwed.

Give it a week or so and you will have people asking you about Azrael Babyroaster in interviews. Someone somewhere will not notice (not really). lol

Which is the (not really) part: The missing ninth companion part or the Azrael Babyroaster part? Or both? I know you just love to drop these veiled clues to see if we're paying attention.

Not really, we have no NCR or House companion either.
So NCR and House fans got screwed as well. :P

Well, Boone is still an NCR sympathizer... He just didn't like that they didn't take any action on his wife, so he quit. I wouldn't be surprised if there are companions for each main faction that they aren't telling us about... I myself would enjoy having an NCR ranger shoot up CL with me.

Yeah, but Boone was NCR..

Hmm, discussion question: Anyone think we can turn our companions somehow? Make them betray what they were, and follow you through anything, and regardless of who you support.

Boone is on the NCR bandwagon. He wouldn't get pissed at you blowing their heads off otherwise.

I'm always between the neutral and evil sides of the road never do I get close to the good, I do indeed hope that I get a semi-evil character or at least a Caesar's Legion member. I'll have an NCR playthrough none the less. It'll probably be my first one to get a perspective on the enemy.

Looks like a good list, as much as I love Fallout 3(still playing), I found the companions to be more of a hinderance than a help, I hope these are better behaved, even if I play a psychotic maniac I want them out of ny way until I give the orders.
