Stuart, just uninstall Morrowind and delete everything that is left in the folder. Next time, unrar the installer into a separate directory.

No, Stuart. It won't. Steam has a list of all the games you've paid for on their server.

I have the French splash screens as well, but oddly, I never noticed it until yesterday. My opening video ran perfectly fine, though.

Failed to create shader Shaders\TexCoord_4_offset_A.vso (twice)

Failed to create shader Shaders\WC_TexCoordGen.vso

Failed to create shader Shaders\FauxEMBM_Displace_2.pso

Unable to load pixelshader file: FauxEMBM_Displace_2.pso

With all of these it ask's if i still want to keep running the executable. I say yes to all of them, then i hear the music for the main menu, but i need to go through task manager to open morrowind, and i get that theres been a problem and that it has to close, were finding a solution blah blah blah.

Its working now  thanks for this, its taken long enough to get it working but OMG was it worth it.

Though i totally forgot about the better bodies MOD. Man that made me laugh.

EDIT: Although the Crosshair isn't the one i chose. I chose the oblivion style crosshair, and it landed my with the gold star shaped one.

I know the compilation is complete, but it is not - for me

It just misses these 3 wonders:

- Ayse Skin Pack - as a replacement for the current dark UI (horrible imho). It contains two different texture packs (blue and darkwood), including crosshair + a backup of the original. There are some japanese characters in the journal and "when you press esc menu" textures but I deleted them (from the darkwood - the one I'm using). No read-me so I guess he/she has no problem in re-using, etc. I can upload it if you wanna try it.

- HD Intro Cinematic by Chesko - Can't see why it isn't there?!

- Darknut's HD splash screen - as an example, I just don't want vanilla ones... EDIT: just noticed NZdawghaus and Alaisiagae in the modlist, still I prefer Darknut's

- EDIT: For banners I prefer Faylynn's Signs and Banners and Korana's Shops and Great House Banners

So, what do you think?

In the MGSO Options program, you can specify custom mods for many of the areas you mention. As with any compilation mod, Kingpix had to make decisions based on personal preference, which mods appear to be the most widely pospular, whether or not the original author would permit their mod(s) to be included and finally the size of the completed mod. Unfortunately, within those limitations, no mod can please every one in every way.

Luckily, even though the mods you mention aren't included, the MGSO does not prevent you from using them in your game.

My installation seems to go all right throughout most of the auto-installing. However, once I reach the MGE part where it generates the distant terrain, it says there are 23 warnings at the bottom at the very end of the installation. The install guide says it is finished and all of that stuff. Whenever I try to access Morrowind, I will reach the splash screen and then the game will crash after a second and return me to my desktop. Eventually, the game just goes black when I start it up and crashes after a few seconds to the desktop. This problem seems to be related to MGE as when I disable MGE in-game, Morrowind works, but without all of the fancy effects that MGE brings. How do I go about fixing it where MGE can work properly and the game can successfully go on past the title screen without crashing?

In regards to my problem, I weny into MGE abd have also tried to disable the internal MWSE and distant land, both of which did nothing. Pixel shading is already off. I have reinstalled Morrowind and Morrowind Overhaul-Sounds and Graphics several times but to no avail.

Yup, it works perfectly vanilla-wise. It also works if I disable MGE in-game.

My machine runs on Windows 7 64 bit operation system. The version of Morrowind I am running is the Steam Game of the Year Edition, which should automatically have the latest patches as far as I know.

I am assuming this is what you need:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam

Yes, that's what I mean. MGE cannot alter game files when the game is installed inside the Program Files directory in Windows 7. Windows doesn't give programs permission to write to other programs within system directories.

Please read through this thread or do a search for Installing Steam outside of Program Files. You won't have to reinstall your games, but you won't be able to use MGE or MWSE as long as they don't have the appropriate permission. Before you ask, yes, everyone who uses MGE on Windows 7 has to do this, whether they install through Steam or not.

(caveat: some people have discovered a way to change the permissions of the Program Files directory. I don't know how to do this, but I do know that if you make a mistake, you may have to reinstall your operating system.)

Or disable uac, then reboot the computer and reinstall mgso.
Once you did that, you can re-enable uac and play.
