Guys i wrote today with great sadness.....for the first time in 113 hrs of gameplay my game lagged yesterday in a way that ive seen only on PS3 videos ...i wish i could have shown you ..i was completing the quest "pieces of the past" and i was retrieving the pommel from http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Dead_Crone_Rock playing in master (eventually i had to lower it to expert because of the http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Forsworn_Briarheart ridicously hard they were hiting me twice and i was done ...well after probably one hr and 15 minutes of frustration on master (im that stubborn) i decided to switch lower back to expert willing to just get out of there given my alreadu on-going frustration so as soon as i lower the diff...for some reason and im not sure why my game started lagging but like if i was playing an online game on dial-up connection bad ..really bad ...i stopped and reload and the same thing happened again and again ...at this point i swear i had to stop playing and get to my bathroom and have a cold shower ...i swear i did....get back turn back on my xbox and "thankfully.......everything went well from that point"...now of course i understand this is a signal that things are starting to go downhill with my game and the fears of crash and game breaing bugs are hunting me to the point that im not sure if ill play today lol......So yeah i was one of the ones that never had any "mayor" problem and i just had my first lagging experience ...at leats it was not constant .....im playing on an arcade 2009 xbox with 60 gigs hdd and patch 1.3.....
A lot of people have had this problem at this location, myself included.
By any chance, did you notice a frostbite spider in a tent when you came up out of the first part of the dungeon to the big clearing with the 2 briarhearts and all the other foresworn?
Some have said that they got the lag in that area until they killed the spider. That wasn't the case for me- it just seemed like the game was having trouble just working through loading up the area and all the enemies, and it seemed to decrease gradually as I started whittling down the number of enemies. I only found the spider after I had taken down everyone else.
But yeah, I don't think it's a long- term stability issue, just an issue specific to that location. I'm pushing 300 hours and keeping my saves down and clearing cache every so often and my game's still holding up pretty well.
