Awesome guys!

I stumbled upon this one day about a month ago messing around with the Wabbajack. I asked a few of my friends to try it, and it worked for them too. I later found it was posted on the UESP so it seemed like i wasn't the only one messing around with the Wabbajack LOL

Anyways using this Wabbajack will level your followers properly and give them the HP and skill increases they should get, thus making them viable followers...it seems housecarls are the best from like Level 50.....and if you play the game up to the 80's level...Jzargo is best then.

I just wabbajacked Benor...he is now level 30...in a few levels...i'll have to trade him out for Mjoll on this playthorough as she will be viable till around level 45(since Mjoll levels up to level 40), after that...i'll have to wabbajack a Housecarl

Amazing find, dude. My formerly useless Lydia just soloed an ancient dragon

hehe! indeed!

Isn't it nice that followers that are Wabbajacked every few levels...you know...actually are useful like they were supposed to be to begin with!

I can't see this being something very dificult to fix, and i hope Bethesda actaulyl fixes this....until then...i guess we Wabbajack our followers into a rabbit, chicken, or mudcrab every few levels to make their leveling increases actually kick in.

to be honest...if you Wabbajack lydia every few levels, She becomes the tank she was supposed to be...she will flat out TANK almost anyone....in fact she tanked BOTH Dremoras at the Mehunes' Daedric quest byherself! the 1st one she hit twice and then ran him through, the second one she killed him outright after a short battle...and she still had around 3/4 of her health left...

on my warrior character(whpo is level 60) i also watched her punked a Falmer Shadowmaster all by herself and a high level Volikar Master Vampire...she flat out pasted the those guys....in all honesty, right now as it stands...Wabbajacking your followers is the only way to make them viable once you begin to level up....and Wabbajacking housecarls like lydia is totally worth it...they become tanks...and they also don't die so easily from getting hit with your AOE spells if your a mage since they will have pretty high health.

Yeah, but I was REALLY hoping they'd fix the "Dampened Spirits" bug for the Thieves Guild... :swear: Otherwise, it's still pretty darn amazing. (I love the UNLIMITED WEREWOLF TIME bug, don't EVER patch that, Bethesda. ) I MEAN IT. >:(

Ash piles are a serious issue that can cause your game to lag and crash not to mention save game bloat. It's one of ny most irritating bugs and I am glad it was addressed.

[censored] that, not even being able to finish a quest line is pretty broken!

Be it as it may, they fixed quite a few and ash piles were a big issue if you had a whole bunch piling up it will eventually make your save unstable and crash, think both are equally as important to fix. They will get more fixes in next patch.

Anyone know or heard any word of the guild perks? Like the one you get from the Bards College? I know there are more but haven't tested which are bugged. I only noticed that when I joined the Bards college I was supposed to recieve a permanent perk that helps speed up the rate at which your Speech levels. I didn't get it. I tried and reloaded and tried doing things in different orders but to no avail.

Th guild perks aren't game breaking like not being able to finish or progress quests, but kind of disheartening considering they are rewards for doing/finishing certain guild quest lines (like the Thieves Guild Perk) and are the reason you work so hard on them. Also if they are currently being fixed (or when they are) will they be automatically applied to characters who have reached or surpassed the point of recieving them, or will we need to start over again? Starting characters over again is very frustrating and actually draws you away from wanting to play the game any longer.

That being said (and asked) the 1.4 update does look really good, and does contain a lot of fixes, and we do appreciate the hard work Bethesda has been putting in.

Wait: Could u explain to me exactly what u mean "Wabbajacking" your follower? When do I need to hit them so that they level up? After every fight? Or just once?

It's funny that on my second playthrough I didn't experience any quest bugs (besides Pantea Flute and some books). In my first playthrough I couldn't start Dampened Spirits in the thieves guild, but I didn't have any problems with my 2nd character. Unfortunately I messed up the15 daedric artefacts achievement (I didnt know I have to kill Silus for Mehrunes Razer). Although it's a little bit unlucky that I couldnt finish everything with just one character, I'm happy that Bethesda soon will fix the Criminal achievement bug so that I can get the last achievement I miss so far (besides the daedric artefacts, that I will finish in the next weeks again with my 2nd character).

Then there's one more.

I have done 5/5 quests for people of Markarth. I brought Jarl _+_____ his bloody shield. To complete the Thane quest. I cannot buy the house or become Thane of Markarth. The dialogue option is not there, even though I was told by the Jarl that I could now buy a house from R_____ who is standing right there.

I have not chosen Stormcloaks at this time.

As pointed out by DrunkLastKnight, it can cause your game to crash and thus its a serious issue. It's the ash piles and weapons and arrows not cleaning up that is an issue for me.

The quest are serious issue too, but I am mainly having problems with things outside of quest bugs.

Awesome discovery! I haven't even been to Solitude yet -- looks like that trip just moved WAY UP on my priority list. (Sheogorath, here I come!)

BTW, when it resets the follower's level, does it also reset their carry limit -- i.e., the bug that respawns standard equipment and *adds* vs. replaces it in their inventory?

One thing I noticed is that they're not fixing the bug with "A Cornered Rat". Definitely appreciate them fixing so much, so hopefully in the next update... That will hopefully come soon.

here seems to be stretches of the road where the alchemy ingredients are not respawning, I have noticed this when I venture back into an area I have already been but its been several weeks or a month since I have been there. This has not been fixed.

I "upgraded" quite a few more followers since you posted this and its working wonders. Thank you again. Just to add to this: it is not limited to an animal, just requires transformation. They upgrade after being transmogrified into a Daedra, too.

They just switch back to their standard equipment when they transform, All the upgraded gear you gave them will still be in their inventory.I have Wabbajacked followers over 100 times and have yet for them to lose anything. all you gotta do is take one then give it back and they will reequip it. Standard equipment doesn't respawn. Actually their carry limit increases each level, because the follower gets more staminia due to staminia increases from levling, i haven't really tried to give my followers more then 200 pounds(including their equiped equipment) so im not sure.

After everytime YOUR CHARACTER levels up, then you need to Wabbajack your Follower to put your follower on the same level as you with the stat increases. You don't need to Wabbajack your follower after every battle, just after every time you increase a level.

for more detailed instructions read my posts above. If you have any other questions, let me know! :)

Oh I didn't know that...it makes sense though....i always relead a save if my Followers turns into a Dremora lord because they can kill you in like 2-3 hits haha :)

Im glad this is working for everyone, It has made my game so much more enjoyable....right now I have Lydia Decked out in Steel Plate Armor Upgraded with Heavy Armor and fortify Block enchantments and she is wearing the Gaulder Amulet that gives her + 30 to Health, Stamina, and Magicka on top of being leveled with Wabbjack...Carrying an Ebony sheild(found in Labyrinthian) and Eleven Sword and Bow..im only level 25 on that mage character....can you say TANK! haha

The Wabbajack is a daedric artifact given to you by Sheogorath when you complete the "Mind of Madness" quest. You can activate this quest by talking to a man called Dervenin in Solitude, near the Bards College.

Then you use this "weapon" against your follower. That's it.

In the same quest you learn how to use it.
