PC Patch out Now

Post » Mon Dec 12, 2011 3:58 am

- The 2-7 second pause while exploring outdoor regions is not resolved - didn't think it would be as it was not in the patch notes.

- My automatic updates for Skyrim was disabled after the last Steam patch but this patch was still downloaded. When I checked my settings, auto updating for Skyrim was back on - it might be from downloading Neverwinter Nights 2 during the weekend as it was for sale at $9.99. It may have reset all game updating settings once it was installed - I cannot confirm if the patch was forced or not because of this recent purchase.

- I've fast traveled to two areas that Dragons still exist. None of them were flying backwards. Engaging in combat had expected results.

- I'm unable to confirm if resist elements works or not.

Thanks for the information. I'm going to not play for the day and come back to check the forums to see what else has been uncovered. Looks like I've avoided being stealth patched so far yippee!

"The 1.2 patch has now been removed from the servers. Clearing the game data, and downloading the patch will now give you the 1.1 patch" <<< What the h***?

I currently have version 1.2.12.0. What I'm supposed to do now? Continue playing the game with a buggy patch?

Seriously, Bethesda...fire your tester team. I really mean it.

Yes you can.

My Skyrim.ini controls section
[Controls]
fMouseHeadingXScale=0.0175
fMouseHeadingYScale=0.0175

Why did the patch screw this up?

I don't know, but between that and the many obvious bugs Skyrim has, I really wonder how betatesters do their jobs in that company...

Do you know if the same is possible for the controller? The speeds on the 360pad for the PC version are also super wonky and I haven't seen (or really bothered to look actually) that can change/fix it. Vertical movement with the controller is fast while the horizontal is slow and adjusting the 'speed' affects both axis the same it seems, in the options menu etc. Kinda dumb.

I'm re-downloading the game from steam atm though cause the game doesn't launch after the new patch, no mods/ini tweaks or anything that I know of... BUT eitherway it shouldn't have done that anyways... right? Whatever... small download, hopefully my saves can 'work' with this new version of the game, kinda wanna keep my 70 hours.

It's just so odd that people are having such varying experiences with the patch. I assume you're all referring to the PC patch and not console patches?

Just checked.
The new patch *DELETED* 2 or 3 of my most recent saves.

Oh Lord...

Something is terribly wrong.

Game CTDs every 3 minutes again, and I can't patch the exe for LAA anymore, which is the ONLY FRIGGING THING THAT FIXES IT.

I'm so angry at Bethesda right now I can't even see straight.

There is no excuse for support this piss poor. It's bordering on fraud.

Now I'm really confused.

Er? Cannot compute! So the patch was pulled and updating gives us the 1.1.21.0 version? Yet people are reporting that resistances are gone?

Bethesda? Anyone there? Hellooooooo? Echo... Echo... Echo

And all my saves for my Khajiit, minus the quicksaves and the autosaves, are gone. Yay. <_<

Confirmed - You can apply compatibility mode again. The last patch that fixed Steam's DRM disallowed it on TESV.EXE.

Most games just recreate a preference file if it is not found. It's not a stupid suggestion at all and often very handy for people who tweaked their preference file too much and need to get to default setup fast.

This is madness.

I'm sure it's hard to patch.
I thought making it worse was harder.

Must be unabriged chaos back there at Beth's offices now.

That's what UESP says.

Steam decided despite pausing and turning off auto update that it should continue downloading so I just threw in the towel.
The only weird thing until now is that it changed my video settings.

So I just downloaded the patch and now I can't launch Skyrim.

Steam opens up and launches the launcher just fine, I can push play and Skyrim seems to launch fine but after the Bethesda logo I can see the Skyrim symbol and the smoke but the menu doesn't pop up.

It doesn't appear to be frozen .... I can alt tab just fine and its not "not responding". There is just no menu. I can't even just push Enter >> Enter to load recent saves.

Anyone else got this?

I'm on Windows XP 32bit with a Radeon HD4800 series video card.

Patch hasn't negatively impacted my game at all regarding the issues other people are having. Everything seems to be working just like before the patch.

Not trying to rub it in, just sharing!

Try adding these to Skyrim.ini Controls section
fGamepadHeadingXScale=1.0
fGamepadHeadingYScale=1.0

It's stupid to have to rely on .ini tweaks. The X and Y settings should be changeable from in game.

Uhm, it didn't appear that Steam DL'ed anything, but it may have, but now I can't even launch the game...

Well it downloaded for me but i have the same problem now. I can start it bit then i just get to see the logo and that is it, nothing else happens. :flame:

Good grief who was the bonehead over at Bethesda who put that that terrible mouse smoothing or whatever it's called in? The sensititivy is pretty much broken for me.
