PATCH IS OUT !

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 8:54 am

Hit the nail on the head. I'm playing it now and can't notice any difference in graphics/textures but then like the poster above graphics are not high on my want list. I never had any quest bug problems so can't comment on those. To me it's just like playing the game as I did in the first few days before my save file got too big.

over 100 hours played and 13mb file and it runs smooth as a freshly started game. Here's hoping it lasts.

Also ps3 gets it first thing on a monday morning and 360 users still have to wait. There was me thinking ps3 user were meant to be scum of the earth.

Thanks Bethesda!!!
The PS3 always gets patches first. It's not Bethesda's doing. Once the patch is released for approval they have nothing to do with it.

I'm not sure if that's a good thing or bad thing...

...but I really should be getting to bed, now. I can't, though... must await results.
I didn't have time to test because I had to leave for work but I loaded Whiterun and it felt more responsive than before.

On my game, the patch fixes the frame rate but now on some dungeons no textures load... I look at a completely black screen with just the door icon. I can't even view the map or items menu.

Fixes one thing to break another.. great

Also, I'll be upset if the textures are lower-res. I was already having problems with textures not loading properly.

No patch in the United States yet maybe it will be live on wendsday.Think I will resume my gameplay now considering that the patch hit europe and alot of people are reporting improvements.I think I will start playing my 6,000kb file save and hope the patch comes out in the next few days. Then it will look like nothing ever even happened as bethesda probably is thinking.HE HE HE...nahh i'm just kidding. This is coming from a level 20 played 24 hours in the game and has a 6,000kb save file with very little lag ever.Man I hope the patch is coming to the U.S. please for the love of my balls be live this week. :woot:

Playability is important but if you dont have a product that perfoms graphically on par with the other console version does, they should ask less on the retail price of the ps3 version!
And the problems shouldn't be solved by lowering the already blurry visuals. Thats my opinion
Wow seriously moonlight kid you are still complaining dude.We have people on here who are reporting improvements.Go whine somewhere else this thread is for people who actually play the damn game.

From what i SAW before, and SEE now, there's nothing wrong with the ps3 version (nothing SO wrong). It's better than the xbox 360, that i saw too, and obviously is far worse than the pc version. But the pc version i saw runned on a 2000E case. Also obviously the pc version is the best because it can be modded.

Been playing for a couple of hours with my 16mb save and although it is improved it is not fixed. It still has occasions where it descends into a flick book. Very, very disappointed. This will sadly be the last bethesda title I purchase at full price.

the thing is i dont have 360 and i only got a crappy laptop. i dont think i will buy 360 just to play this game even though i want to play this game so badly. the review after the patch is positive (so far) and it really makes me want to buy the game.

i might gonna wait for a while tho, waiting for others to review some more. *finger crossed*

I doubt they lowered the texture files on a 92 meg update. Most likely they jigged how close before the lo-res kicks in.

Interesting, could it be that the patch is a stop gap that moves the frame drop goalposts so it takes longer before they take effect?
Only time and more players reporting back will tell.

So I'm about an hour into the game, escaping through dungeons and caverns, and have noticed the controls are a bit sluggish, it's not quite 'lag' but doesn't feel smooth either, despite me putting the sensitivity up. Is this normal and does it improve once I get outside I wonder?

Should I leave the game on to get the patch when it comes out? Or should I enter and exit the game?

Well if it's fixed then thank you Beth. It shouldn't have been released this way but it's a relief knowing I didn't waste £37.

My game is playing smoothly so far, post-patch (although it wasn't too bad before, except after a few hours of play).

Ironically, however, I'm now having a texture problem that I never saw before the patch. I have heard the Xbox had a texture issue but haven't seen any video/screenshots of it, so I don't know if what I'm getting is the same as the Xbox issue, but I have played 30 mins so far and first a shield texture failed to load properly (it was very blurry/low-res) and then a dragon, which suddenly popped into high res when it died. Oh well, it's an ugly problem but at least it's only aesthetics.

I loaded it up after the patch and my save file has gone from 7514 KB to 6699 KB. Dunno if this is anything important but it's the first time my save has shrunk.

Edit: odd I just did a quest and it dropped again to 6712 KB O.o It seems to be shrinking or I gotta put the bong down...

This is happening to me too, the bong is not your problem lol.

On another related note to everyone, I just started playing my game again, only been playing for about half an hour so I will get back to you guys later and let you know what's happening (or rather what's not happening -- I hope)

Edit: Oh as for textures it looks fine on my game, just the same as before although it actually looks a bit better but that could just be because I haven't played it for a while lol.

Good information, keep it coming. I am going to hold off on patching till I can read the notes and see what areas of actual gameplay they fixed (companion leveling etc) . If this is only for the lag issue I'll just keep running the game as is on my SSD cause it's working perfectly. 110 hours 13MB save.

Really glad it's working for others. Enjoy a great game!
