It appears that Steam is now sending out the Patch. However, as of 11:30AM MST UESP reported that Steam is not issuing the patch anymore. I can not confirm this as I am at work and my Steam Machine is at home. Anyway, on with the thread:

We want to keep all Patch posts in one thread to make it easier for the Bethesda and the Devs to monitor the results. All other Patch threads will be closed and directed to this thread. Please do not post just to rant, that will not help them with any new issues or old issues that are not fixed yet. It only fills the thread up with things the Devs can't use. Please post your issues with the patch if you have, your successes with the patch if you have them, and if you fixed it, what you did to fix it.

For example, those with tweaked INI and PREF files may want to delete or rename them, then launch the game. You can make a back up of the files just in case and then add your tweaks back into the new INI and PREF that is created.

Here are the release notes for the patch (Sticky at top of this forum section)

http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1294878-12-update/

IMPORTANT NOTE:

If you are running any mods and you are having issues post patch, uncheck all your mods in the Launcher and see if the issue goes away. If it does, then add the mods back one by one until you find the one or ones that needs to be updated. For testing you may need to start a new game as mods can sometimes mess with saves. Again, this is for testing if your current save won't load and you suspect a mod issue.

Steam updated Skyrim on my box shortly after 3pm EST. So UESP may have been wrong about the patch being pulled.

So we have no word if a patch will be out soon right? I should just start playing and wait it out?

Well, thank the galaxy for the 4GB Launcher, otherwise I wouldn't be able to play. Even less so in fact, the game won't even stay loaded anymore.

As soon as I load up any game I get an instant crash, with or without mods. I might get lucky and get about 2 minutes of play before a crash. Thankfully when I use the 4GB launcher I can play fine without any crashes.

Seriously pathetic Bethesda. You ability to develop and maintain games has gone to hell. How the mighty have fallen...

Played for about half an hour after installing the patch, so far the game runs ok. Though somehow the mouse support in menus has gotten WORSE.

Journal menu now does strange things, will exit when trying to click on a miscellaneous quest.

The mouse will select the item ABOVE the one selected in the merchant and smithing menus, I just sold a bunch of items above the one I had selected to sell.

Menu STILL tells me "E" is drop/sell/use/whatever when in reality the button doesn't do anything.

So far the patch hasn't really done much besides screw up the menu even more than it was.

Haven't loaded up the game since before 1.2 was downloaded, so I assume my save file is safe from corruption, correct?

Other than that, nice job hosing the patch Bethesda...

1) Mouse break. Y-axis >= 2 * X-axis. Mouse behavior in 1.1 was great in compare with 1.2. My hand pain after 20 minutes with 1.2.
2) Start play with Nord race like in 1.1. There is no more Active Effect with 50% resistance to ice.

Given that it is currently 8:36pm in Washington DC right now, is it fair to say we aren't going to hear from Bethesda Staff until tomorrow at the earliest?

1.2patch, no real changes in any regards for me. Haven't noticed the magic resistance issue my combat tactics revolve around running in hitting things hard until they die so...

...anyway, prior to 1.2 I couldn't play for more than 30minutes before the missing textures issue popped up followed by the inevitable drop to to desktop with no error message. Post 1.2patch, still drops to desktop after 30 minutes or so with no error message. 4gig aware mod though seems to resolve the issue.

Interesting on how this thread compilation has reached a combined 1000 posts. Think you might have seriously screwed up, Bethesda?

Anyways. I did a test for this patch. On master difficulty, with 330 health and level 31, I allowed a Frost Dragon to breath on me. My character is a Nord. I was left with 30 health. I then reloaded and did it again but drank a potion of 20% frost resistance. My health then went down to 34.

Im not even sure that potion effect was working. 4 HP is not 20 percent.

Get your crap in order. This is rediculous.

Once more, Official version fails to launch and just cycles me back to the launcher after clicking 'play'. Last time I had to delete/reinstall to correct it. At least I have the copy of the original retail on another drive that plays.

I think trying to do a spell to a Antronach using the same spell type that they are is a little bit more accurate test. Even if you arn't a caster there are scrolls and every character starts with flames.

Mouse has no vertical movement. Looking side-to-side is fine, but I can't look up or down at all. This is not a sensitivity issue. With the sensitivity maxed out, I still cannot look up or down. Mouse movement in menus is fine.

No mods, no textures, no changes to ini files.

Verified game integrity, downloaded 1 file, did not fix the issue.

Currently reinstalling the game through Steam.

The Patch has most definitely not been pulled, though I heard people in RU have had their games rolled back to 1.1. The Script Dragon mod author says this happened to him.

Just to say if it's not already been said, uninstalling and reinstalling does nothing. Apparently whoever said Valve pulled the borked patch off their servers was wrong. I just started a new game after reinstalling and it's still 1.2.

Eh, Rarity beat me to it.

Aye.
Have steam running in background like it should be but launch game with 4GB launcher instead.
You should get the steam community blabla popup bottom right of screen to confirm arriving on main menu.

Ive already done that and many other people have. I just pointed out that potion resists dont work. Thats an added bonus to this entire fiasco.

Its not just specific instances. Resists are bugged "across the board".

I need the LAA patch or textures go purple and my game crashes after 20 minutes.

The LAA patch doesn't work unless Steam is online.

I can't play Skyrim with Steam online because I'll get the effed up 1.2 patch.

This is ridiculous, I've never seen it this bad before. :shakehead:

People said to delete your ini files then check the cache again. I'm not sure if you have to delete your documents AND C drive or just one of them.
