PCPS3 Release date, Part 4.

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:23 am

I'd also like to opt the reason for their silence because launchday for 360 might not have been considered part of the 30 day countdown, making today day 30?
Therefore they are still obligated to keep their mouth shut?

Just throwing out ideas here.

I also half expect myself not being able to play the game for a week, because it turns out the DLC is mod incompatible.
Considering the effect a good number of patches have had in that area....

I think it did, Bethesda have sold out to the Xbox, and have abandoned the people who made them profitable. If it wasn't for PC users The Elder Scrolls would not exist.

False I just checked.

I hate these exclusive deals in general if a game goes multiplatform the DLC should release at the same time. Bloody microsoft with their dam business practices they pretty much gave bethesda free money! They really think people would buy a 360, a new copy of skyrim and the DLC just to play dawnguard!? Gosh! >_>

Nope PC was ranked highest, and PS3 finished slightly ahead of Xbox. It is impossible for Xbox or PS3 to have number 1 sales as PC has modding and now adays most people have a good PC but not everybody has a console.

I highly doubt that, considering in the first two days of sales, the Xbox360 sales made up 59% of the total retail sales.

So instead of 30 days of exclusivity, the Xbox gets how many days of exclusivity, 40? 50?

Heh, never thought of it like that... The tweet said in the comming weeks (plural). So well get at least the 1.7 update within, say 14 days or so. To answer your question I'd say xbox users get around 40 days of Dawngaurd to themselves.

At this time, we do not have announced release plans for Dawnguard on other platforms. As soon as there's any new information to share, we'll let everyone know.

This collection of threads is amazing.

And I'm NOT talking about the "delay" or the "radio silence" on Bethesda's part.

As much as we appreciate feedback from you guys, I worry with that comment you've made things a lot worse.

This is one of the many things I hate about the games industry. We sit here and we shout at Bethesda, how much say do you think anyone at Bethesda had over the exclusivity deal? The people who make the game aren't making these decisions someone higher up the food-chain at Zenimax is. Someone who we will never know and who will never read any of our complaints. So the people responsible for these anti-consumer practices are completely isolated and unaccountable and the people who make the game take the brunt of the blowback because they are the people with faces we can yell at.

All very very annoying.

That is exactly the information we had before you commented, none. You posted and said nothing. A better response would be to tell us why you have no planed release date at this time. People respond well to honesty.

Not so much impatient, we were just let down. A 30-day exclusive Xbox run would expire today, which is what Beths said. It's only logical to get excited and hope for it in the next few days.
I'm a Ps3 owner & i've followed the dawnguard stuff from the begining, Am i mad Beth pulled this ( in my opinion ) stupid move, this 30 day Xbox 360 stuff, Yes
I always knew from a business sense if the Patch 1.6 came out before July 26th we'd most likely get it in 30 days.
But if we didn't it'd most likely be early to mid August before we get it. i never said you are or anyone else was impatient, the kids that say (" WE NEED TO GET IT ON JULY 26TH & MAKE IT FREE" ) they are being impatient. i want to play Dawnguard like everyone else but as the saying goes patiences is a virtue.

Quel surprise. 30 days later and still no word. It's Beth's complete and utter alienation of their fan-base on any other platform than the 360 that has ensured that I have never, and will never buy a piece of DLC from them.
Shivering Isles - Pre-owned GOTY.
Fallout 3 - Borrowed GOTY.
Fallout NV - Didn't even touch DLC.

And now this crap!? Seriously, just how much bare-faced bribery are MS fronting? Surely it would be better business practice to release it as universally multi-platform and reap the money from day one, than give roughly 2/3 of your market a month to stew, become disenfranchised, and eventually lose all interest.
At first I was completely stoked for DG, it hit all my buttons perfectly. But the caving to MS's fat check and continued silence has just left a bad taste in my mouth. Couple that up with the amount of time the content has had to lose all steam and hype and I really just don't care anymore. I want to see it released on principle, but will I actually give Bethesda money for screwing us about? Hell [censored]in' no.

Also Patch 1.6 was just mounted combat nothing crucial in there for Dawnguard to work.

Sorry, you're wrong here. 1.6 introduced new Scripts Functions (for the sun position) that are only used in DG. This update is necessary for the DLC to work.

Colour me shocked, I knew we would get some bs generic "Nothing to share at this time" message.

Thanks for turning me against this series, I really enjoyed elder scrolls and from a business point of view I guess you guys are making good money, but as a consumer I can't be bothered with it anymore, I actually own a 360 but bought Skyrim on my PS3, what a mistake that was.

There's other games I'd rather waste my time and money on lol.

honestly I dont think the people running things care at all, Xbox made up the majority of the sales with 59% last time I checked

Going on the grammatical error in your post I would guess that you were first going to post something else and then edited it to the near cut and paste response Bethesda keeps giving.

Well Bethesda just lost a lot of respect from me. You've been sitting on it for 30 days and don't have any release plans whatsoever, that's unacceptable. Oh well, Guild Wars 2 comes out next month so i'm most likely done with this game for quite s long time. If you cared about your customers at all you would have had it available for release as soon as possible after the 30 days, in the long run it won't hurt anyone but yourselves.

Pretty much, PC user here and I have a slew of games I can enjoy, TSW, GW2(in a month), Deus Ex: HR, Some hitman titles, the assasin's creed series, the witcher series, saints row 3, batman arkham games, the bioshock games and much more, its just sad to see this happening to a studio I used to run to get games from
