PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 12

PC is the best way to go for Morrowind and Skyrim

Depends what they have at the computer fair. I'm not wanting to splash out too much for the simple fact that its either going to be reconditioned or 'off the back of a lorry' sorta thing. I'll see how it runs stuff, but to be honest I've been jonesing for Civ 4 for months now. Plus I've broken enough computers that I'm a little wary of pushing what I buy too hard :D

For someone who is supposedly studying business you don't seem to know all that much about it. Bethesda know enough about running a company, it's pretty damn successful, any fool with knowledge on the subject of gaming companies could tell you that much.

'to make that money you need to get people to buy your product and provide services to keep your customers.'

Which is what they are doing. What does that even mean? All they have done is accepted a vast quantity of money for keeping their content exclusive to an agreed upon platform for a set amount of time. That's given them easy money, money which has to replace that which was lost over the very long production time this game had, in the short term, all it's done is P-off an insignificant amount of entitled gamers on their official forums. The fact is most gamers won't compare about this, just as they didn't for Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas, and those DLC's sold like you wouldn't believe. Most gamers on consoles don't care because they are for the most part casual gamers, and most people on PC won't care because of the Mod tools given to the PC community. Most people on these forums will buy Dawnguard at some point, that's a given.
Heh. That was pretty good. I do agree on that as well. Business can run many ways. Liked your explanation.
And yes, I do know business. I've been studying it for a long time now.

How is Guild Wars anyways? Never played the games. I might consider looking elsewhere for better service and dump Bethesda.
Not sure if I can explain it and do it justice. All I will say is GW1 and GW2 has little in common. I am surprised they even bothered trying to connect it at all. You really felt like you are exploring with all the dynamic events.

Hmm... I'll look at youtube videos and see if I like it then. :) I always remembered seeing it behind the glassed cases in walmart, always wondering what it was. Might as well give it a go now.

To continue the lore and story. If game mechanics were the foundation of game continuations, then Mass Effect 1 and 2 wouldn't be related. Assassins Creed 1 and 2, etc.

GW1 ended with the awakening of the ancient dragons, the beings that gave magic to the world, and GW2 takes place 250 years later as the terror of these elder dragons is reaching its peak.

And if you like the dynamic event type thing, you should look into The Secret World. Its questing is rather interesting, specially their "investigation" missions.

I do have a steam account as it goes, but like I said it all depends on what kind of machine I get, how powerful it is etc. And in all honesty I'll probably just use my controller, far too used to it now! And I'll have to tear myself away from my marathon, epically huge map, future war modded 18 civilizations civ games... *dribble* ;)

I know the lore thing. Afterall I have GW + all the expansions, and was in the GW2 beta. And I understand what you mean by Mass Effect and those other games. I say what I say, because a lot of people are assuming the GW1 is a reflection of GW2. It isn't.

And yea I have been contemplating Secret World. I read a lot about it. On the fence.

Tip for morrowind players: When you see an npc that has sixy armor, just taunt them until they fight you. then take their armor :)

I had a full set of ebony armour in my old playthrough on Morrowind, before the second hand xbox bit the dust. :( RIP Azriel.

Folks, this thread isn't about GW or Morrowind. Keep the off-topic posts to a minimum, thanks.

Well I can wait, I'd appreciate an answer if it IS coming out, if not I'll sell my PS3 get and xbox and start over, otherwise I'll just by Max Payne 3 until it is released.

These are my personal thoughts about the PC/PS3 Dawnguard:

1) They are based off of the 1.7 Patch. So they need time to do their thing before they can release it.

2) Advertisemants! They obviously had some sort of non-disclosure agreement in the 30 day deal, so they need some time for advertisemants to circulate.
The problem is that they could have been setting things up during those 30 days instead of sitting on their butts doing nothing

And in the end Bethesda wins, teaching them that treating your customers poorly = money, completely ruining a once great gaming developer.

Only one way to send Bethesda a strong message from the PC/PS3 community.

Don't buy Dawnguard, simple as that.

The way they behave, it's pretty clear the pockets is where it hurts.
I'm TIRED of this sickly deals with Microsoft and their console, THE COMMUNITY doesn't gain [censored]!

You might as well give the DLC to only Americans first and leave the rest of the world out for 1+ month, that -is- how sick this is.
Or give the DLC to only dogs first and let the cats wait.

- We [censored] pay for the game! We play the [censored] game! Why should one group of people who bought the game get special deals the others don't get?
[censored] BIG MONEY CORPORATION! QQ
WHERE IS THE FAIRNESS?

I believe all man shall stand for fairness! Despite whatever it may be!

I can understand that the reason they've delayed releasing it is to iron out bugs etc. But what I think stinks is the fact that they therefore must have released it unfinished to the Xbox 360. Surely it would have been better to delay it then, for everyone, rather than after. In my opinion, if it's in a good enough state for 360 players to get it, then its in a good enough state for us to have it as well. They should just release it in its (at least) semi-playable state like they did for 360, and continue patching after. Also, at the end of the day pc players get console commands, I don't know about other people's experiences with it but I've been able to sort a couple of the more major bugs I've come across using them.

We are now second citizen people, the money we spent on Skyrim is not worth as money that the Xbox 360 players spent on their game.
I only see greed and unfairness!

Who is the winners here? Not the community.
Who then? Bethesda of course, they profit somehow on these type of deals.

What do we do? We spend hours and hours frustrated because we are treated like second citizen people!

I say treat every gamer equally!

--

No wonder we have real life problems in the world with greed, corruption, special people get special deals and poor stay poor.

This is just a very small example, in the gaming industry. Money talks and the honest people will be split apart, no one is equally and shall NOT be treated equally - that is what Bethesda show us they believe! And every other company that follow their way!

Right? RIGHT!?

Played it on Xbox and it was alright, but it's not the same without mods.

Haha @Robbaz

I'm sure it'll be out soon, I'm no where near as butthurt as I was earlier. I'll be patient, and buy it as soon as its available to me. Skyrim has had over 265hrs of gameplay so I can wait a bit, it won't kill me.

A Walrus on the other hand, might tickle my nipbles.
