PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 12

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 1:08 pm

OK! After bethesda being so shaky with the release date of dawn guard i've come to the conclusion that i'm NOT going to purchase this DLC I'm going to go get another game. Something that ps3 users can play without being treated badly.

Well as you're someone who knows these things , I'm getting scared for TES6.
HA. They want to release another game when they can't even keep up with Skyrim? Heh, good luck to Bethesda. xD

I'm not annoyed that it doesn't have a release date for PC/PS3 yet. I'm annoyed that they've waited this long to let us know. People were expecting it to be out after the 30 day exclusivity period on Xbox, they knew that. If they knew that it wouldn't be on PC/PS3 by now, why couldn't they let us know sooner?

well if its not released on tuseday then thing will be worse then they already are...

Well I have madden 13 and borderlands 2 coming up and maybe I'll find another hidden gem like dragons dogma. Theres probably going to be some nice dlc for dark souls to match whats on the pc release. Oblivion was a great game but they never gave ps3 alot of the dlc for it, fallout 3 and fallout new vegas were basically unplayable, plus all these stupid timed dlc. Wont be buying dawngaurd or any other bethesda games again. Really just visited here to make sure people were giving bethesda the quotient of sh!t they deserve.

Hmm, you can never be so sure. I can say for sure they will lose money soon. Mainly because of neglecting customers and not informing them at all of any news, leaving them in the dark.

I feel like a large number of ps3/ pc users are about to declare war on beth.

I just want to ask, does anyone who is angry feel like this is accomplishing anything for pc/ps3 gamers, or just giving the mods a really hard time?

How long are we going to allow these "Game" companies walk all over us?

Day 1 DLC's, being lied to, ect!

That's what I hate about this generation, because a lot of you accept this as the norm!
And I would bet that a majority of PS3/PC owners will buy Dawnguard when it comes out in 60/90/120 days to a year or when ever it does come out.

VOTE WITH YOUR WALLETS! DO NOT BUY FROM COMPANIES THAT DO THIS CRAP!!

Support the companies who actually give a sh*t about their consumers! CD Projekt RED, Paradox, Valve, ect!

It seems some of you don't know much about economics or business do you? Some companies postpone/reschedule release dates to products to increase the tension and anxiety to insure more profit is made then releasing it on the original date planned. Though! It is very risky. It can go both ways. It can either benefit the company, or completely bankrupt the company. Its a dangerous risk. I hope Bethesda is not planning this. The outcome is unknown. Make people wait too long, and you can lose millions and possibly bankrupt the company. Make people wait just a tad long enough to get them hyped up and excited is the way to go. So far from what I see, Bethesda is not benefiting for such a late release date. (Oh wait, not even a release date is even set.)
Example? Grand Theft Auto Games. They do this method and make lots of money.

As much as I argue with people over stuff like this, I do agree that voting with your wallets is indeed the best course of action if you feel wronged. The day 1 DLC is why my copy of ME3 will be second hand. :)

If there is no set date by August 7th, or outright release by the 14th for the PC, I'll be pretty pissed off. At that point why bother? There are a several games coming out in the next month or two that I've wanted to play for a long time... Bethesda has had an entire month to get the other two versions up and running, also maybe even fix some bugs (not holding my breath)...

But what do we get once the 30 day period is up? "No news, and we haven't actually announced it for the other platforms?"

You've got to be kidding me. An entire month and you have nothing to say? AND you're going to throw out the technicality of not announcing it for the PC & PC3? How stupid do they think we are? It's blatantly obvious that the DLC will be released for the other platforms. The game is to popular and they will lose out on to much potential sales to pass it up... Along with brand loyalty.

Well I do agree with you with almost everything you said, but with the companies who pay attention. Valve they are very dodgey with most of their titles, e.g. Half-Life 3 Its been what 8 years (I really have no clue) since Half-Life 2 and still no news of weather we will get the game. Other companies I have no clue.

Its almost like Bethesda is starting to turn into another money hungry companies like EA or Activision.

I already preordered Guild Wars 2. Loved the beta. So if they decide to release around that time, so be it. I guess they don't want my money, because it is tainted by teH PC :yuck:

Do what crap? I see NOTHING wrong with what they are doing. Just because they don't say the obvious "We will let you know" bit, doesn't mean they are walking all over us.

I WILL vote with my wallet by buying the DLC when it is released. I am not spoiled to the point where I feel I am entitled to everything.

Basically sums up the logic behind day 1 DLCs. And it makes perfect sense. You may not agree with it, but that's why you don't buy it. Don't like something? Dont give in to it. The fact that people do give in, and a lot of people do only leads them to see that it is profitable. Game companies are a business after all.

These are my personal thoughts about the PC/PS3 Dawnguard:

1) They are based off of the 1.7 Patch. So they need time to do their thing before they can release it.

2) Advertisemants! They obviously had some sort of non-disclosure agreement in the 30 day deal, so they need some time for advertisemants to circulate.

They need to hurry up because Sims 3 Supernatural is coming out, and I will be buying that game as soon as possible and I don't know if I will have enough money to get both.

How is Guild Wars anyways? Never played the games. I might consider looking elsewhere for better service and dump Bethesda.

I'm studying business, economics, accounting, and psychology. And form what I can tell you, these people (Bethesda) do not know crap about running a company or providing decent service for its customers. It is all about making money (That's how the world goes 'round), but to make that money you need to get people to buy your product and provide services to keep your customers. Now this is common sense, and obviously, Bethesda doesn't have it. This is to the Bethesda Staff, keep this up and I can guarantee your company will fall sooner or later. You are fools Bethesda, so much potential and you piss it all away.

For someone who is supposedly studying business you don't seem to know all that much about it. Bethesda know enough about running a company, it's pretty damn successful, any fool with knowledge on the subject of gaming companies could tell you that much.

'to make that money you need to get people to buy your product and provide services to keep your customers.'

Which is what they are doing. What does that even mean? All they have done is accepted a vast quantity of money for keeping their content exclusive to an agreed upon platform for a set amount of time. That's given them easy money, money which has to replace that which was lost over the very long production time this game had, in the short term, all it's done is P-off an insignificant amount of entitled gamers on their official forums. The fact is most gamers won't care about this, just as they didn't for Fallout 3 or Fallout New Vegas - and those DLC's sold like you wouldn't believe. Most gamers on consoles don't care because they are for the most part casual gamers, and most people on PC won't care because of the Mod tools given to the PC community. Most people on these forums will buy Dawnguard at some point, that's a given. Both Fallout 3 and Fallout New Vegas DLC sold well even though Bethesda used the same marketing strategy they are using here.
