PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 12

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:29 am

Have you not played Demon Souls man!?!? both Dark Souls and Demon Soul's made me rage more then when FONV froze up on me.

Which is the problem with most games and most gamers these days, they all want it to be as easy as possible, no challenge.

Bethesda has said Xbox has exclusivity for 30 days, insinuating that it will be coming to other platforms, the CK was accidentally updated with Dawnguard content, and patch 1.6 adds Dawnguard to the list of quests in the game. We know it's coming to the PC. It's just when.

Its not listed under quests, but under general stats. Likewise, I'm using patch 1.6 and don't have it. So I assumed it was added in the beta 1.7?

It's done. They're sitting on it and won't say why. The way it's developed, the PC and Xbox versions are identical with the exception of the xbox using .ddx files and the PC using .dds files and the .nifs being slightly different. It's possible for us to convert .ddx to .dds but it takes forever. Bethesda obviously has the tools to convert in batches as they created the file format. You can already take the xbox DLC file and put it in your PC game, it'll just crash as soon as it has to access the content in those .ddx files.
If that is the case, then the PC version should be out by now, and if they have it done then they should have been working on the PS3 version.

20 bucks is already pretty cheap considering the excellent quality and quantity of the content in this DLC. I just wish Bethesda wasn't actively stopping us from giving them money.
Honestly some times its amazing the things company's will do to stop you from giving them money.

Sorry but I hate it.
I've never seen anything better than TES.

If MS payed for a 60 days exclusive deal. And Dawnguard was advertised with a 30 day exclusive period. THAT is false advertising. And I'm pretty sure that both companies aren't that thick headed.

I'm not into all the "the pc made you" crap. Because I first got into Elder Scrolls on the xbox. I bought skyrim for the xbox, and bought it again for the PC when I acquired enough savings for a good gaming PC. So I'm unbiased with my opinions.

I didn't buy dawnguard for the xbox, because I thought it was going to be a 30 day wait. And 30 days isn't too long. But Pete Hines has said that it hasn't even been announced for other platforms yet, so my first thought was that it wasn't going to be released on other platforms. Even though I think they will release it to other platforms, it definitely sounds like they might not.

Whether I'm wrong or right, obviously Bethseda is already not taking the 30 day thing seriously. Either they made a mistake in what they are saying or they changed their minds midway. Pete Hines obviously thinks he misspoke earlier on. Maybe he was thinking of 30 days exclusive for nomal DLCs except he forgot that the first one is a 60 day wait, or maybe he changed his tone after MS payed for another 30 days. Either way, 30 days was mis-information in some way.

Pete Hines' comments really destroyed my excitement. A couple of days ago I thought I'd buy it for 100% certainity. Now I couldn't care less.

I think we can conclude that Bethesda are XBox fan boys and don't like PS3. Done. **Edited**
It wouldn't be the first gaming industry to have this biased opinion either. Just putting that out there.

With a global economy the way it is, it make no business sense whatsoever to take any customer for granted. This is beginning to apply to any kind of industry, anywhere on Earth. Why a company that has so much going for it would throw away enormous amounts of consumer following over this release for PC and PS3 is mind numbing. Bethesda has to learn that treating people with honesty and simple respect will gain them so much more than a kind of silence that engenders a perception of smug arrogance. It is sad to see such a talented group of developers represented by corporate language in this manner. I only hope that they will learn from this.

I don't think they misspoke about the exclusivity period. It's over. But just because they are not contractually bound does not mean they are going to release it any time soon. They could still hold on to it for other reasons. I'm assuming they are fixing bugs or still porting it to the PS3. I think we will know more if it isn't out Tuesday for at least the PC.

I'm studying business, economics, accounting, and psychology. And form what I can tell you, these people (Bethesda) do not know crap about running a company or providing decent service for its customers. It is all about making money (That's how the world goes 'round), but to make that money you need to get people to buy your product and provide services to keep your customers. Now this is common sense, and obviously, Bethesda doesn't have it. This is to the Bethesda Staff, keep this up and I can guarantee your company will fall sooner or later. You are fools Bethesda, so much potential and you piss it all away.

I'm not annoyed that it doesn't have a release date for PC/PS3 yet. I'm annoyed that they've waited this long to let us know. People were expecting it to be out after the 30 day exclusivity period on Xbox, they knew that. If they knew that it wouldn't be on PC/PS3 by now, why couldn't they let us know sooner?
