PCPS3 Release Date Thread part 15

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 6:09 am

I think he meant what are you trying to prove. There is no universal definition for exactly how long 'soon' is other than 'a short period of time', people have their own perspectives, it's for the most part subjective.

yeh...now is to late for that,i forgot my reasoning

Yeah, this crappy topic has dominated the Skyrim forums for the past few days. I'm not looking forward to this same doomsday overreacting when the next DLC comes out. Hopefully people will pay attention and learn from DG, so they don't flip out in the future. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

This shouldn't be anything new. Bethesda has been doing these delays for a long time and there were barely any complaints of it then. But patience, is something rare to find these days.

People, be patient. This isn't doomsday. Seriously, there are way more important things in life to get worked up about. The "drama" in here is a bit much. Business is business; no one is personally insulting you with this exclusivity deal.

Most definitely agreed.

Boxed sales alone were 2.3 million for PC, but Digital sales have already hit over 50% of total sales for PC games industry. So yeah, no doubt it is at least equal to Xbox360 by now in sales.

All the Elder Scroll games will sell more on the PC eventually anyway, due to the longevity that modders provide, Morrowind is stil being bought and played today after 10 years, it will be the same for Oblivion and Skyrim,

August 10th I am assuming is probably when we will hear about a release date. DG is a worldwide 360 release, theoretically 30 days isn't up yet (world wide), however Pete Hines could have told us this obviously. Anyhow, August 10th I am only guessing/assuming at the latest will mark a release date for Dawnguard sometime in September. All speculation

But the moderators previous post is correct, I have a very busy active life and post here with a iPhone and yet I still am upset about the DG release. I can't even find the time to play Borderlands or other games I bought in the summer sale, though DG releasing on PC id find the time lol. Regardless we all gotta just drop it and move on, it will release eventually this year hopefully.

Though this has been said several times, one of Gstaff's last few posts (maybe the last one) suggested that the official "exclusive period" is over. I would quote it... but I don't really feel like going to get it right now. xD

I just figure they're saving their announcements for Quakecon. If nothing is said there, I'll start to grow impatient.

My biggest issue with the whole exclusivity thing is how many people actually went out and bought an XBOX 360 just for the fact that dawnguard released early? It seems that there was much more revenue to be made by releasing it all at once to everybody. More income faster, less headache, and no need for 14 threads about when or if it is coming.

The logic behind the XBOX deal is flawed.

I haven't heard of anyone who did that.

Not really...the "tense" that he used was in direct response to a question asked by someone, he quoted them and then answered them. The 30 days could very well be in effect

I would not say this because I think many of you are about to suffer a heart attack...but....the next DLC is exclusive for 30 days for X360
This one was also "30" days and id be fine knowing the time it will come out even if it is 30 days after but its been over 30 days

Gstaff talked about Dawnguard. Gstaff posted a thread about Dawnguard. Thus, he broke the exclusivity deal. Do you really think it's a coincidence that he posted that thread on the 26th (When the actual 30 days was supposed to run out)?

There's nothing we can do about it,plus i already know the entire story of the DLC because of this "exclusive thing",so I relax in my comfortable chair and eat cheese like a mad khajiit :twirl:

I didn't say they owe me something because I'm on PC.
I say they should respect everyone and do more extras for the PC as the PC were their founders.
Now that I'm thinking of it the PS 3 should get extras too.

Are you mad, your asking bethesda for more extras when you can, oh I dunno, MOD?

That's true , with the help of the mods I can make a new game ( Skyrim 2 , Lol )
I can fix the bugs by myself , many other things that worth the DLC and even better.

But I'm trying to say that Bethesda shouldn't act like they don't remember about how the PC community made them what they are today.

The PC community is no longer the only supporter, most importantly Bethesda and Microsoft have been working togather a long time. So you basically gave Microsoft the money need to do the 30 day exclusive, you kind paid for your own screw over. I know that's a terrible way to look it, but tight lipped favortism is the way gaming world works these days.

"Tight lipped" would be keeping the lid on any "exclusivity" deals. Not announcing them to the entire universe, thus creating the assumption that other platform releases are 30-ish days off

But the PC community will still be creating content for this game YEARS after console users shelf it and sell it at a yard sale. It's not about "which community is bigger?"..... it's about "which community is the most lasting in the long run?" Even a banker can be "penny wise and pound stupid" at times

It appears that Xbox is getting more than 30 days of exclusivity.
and it just hard to believe tht Bethesda is not benefiting from this somehow, I mean why would they agree to a deal tht prohibits them from releasing an testing DG,(basically agreeing not to be paid by PC/PS3) and then release DG for PC/PS3 in a another month or 2 they stand to loose to much money, I just think tht maybe MS is still paying them to stall. of course I could b wrong only time will tell
