I think we need to face the facts, Dawnguard is an Xbox exclusive, and it is going to stay that way. Otherwise, what reason do they have not to announce it for the PC/PS3? They can announce it, but not give a release date. I would be surprised if it gets released on PS3/PC. Lets face it, Bethesda is a business so they chose money over their fans, especially their long time fans from the PC, but that is business, and apparently Microsoft gave them enough money to cover the loss in potential sales from the PC/PS3 versions.

I'm sure it will be released sooner or later , but it won't be as welcoming as it could be from the fans.

I think we need to face the facts

A fact is something you can prove. As of right now, no one can prove this. It is unproductive to make such pessimistic and unreasonable assumptions.

I don't even know what to say to this, but your post is pretty ridiculous. It's coming, that much is a given.

MS paid for exclusive content because they sell more in the USA,sony didn't because they sell more in Europe and Asia, they invest where they sell more(...)

What I predict:

Dawnguard will be released ( very late or actually 'soon' )
If late , there will be more rage.
If soon , people will be happy until they see no bugs are fixed from the Xbox ( bleh ).
Then they will rage that there are no fixes.
Mods fix the bugs and people play amazingly pure Dawnguard on PC.

PS3 people are Fuc*ed once again.

Fourteen threads and three pages... and this thread still goes in circles.
I'm hoping to get some kind of official announcement tomorrow... ya know, after the weekend is over. But that's just me hoping.

Yeah, this crappy topic has dominated the Skyrim forums for the past few days. I'm not looking forward to this same doomsday overreacting when the next DLC comes out. Hopefully people will pay attention and learn from DG, so they don't flip out in the future. But I'm not getting my hopes up.

So, are we just taking it on blind faith that Xbox outsold the PC on Morrowind sales? Does anyone who keeps saying this have a source or are they just saying it because other people are? VGcharts says that they sold 2.86m copies worldwide on the Xbox but shows no figures for the PC. Pete Hines says that console players are 90% of Bethesda's customers but fails to defend that stance when questioned on it. Just wondering if there's a source for the info being thrown around.

(sources)
I'm apparently not allowed to post links...but a quick search on VG charts will show my source for the Xbox numbers and a google search will find Pete's discussion with someone on twitter about the 90% thing.

It's not as if this topic existing has prevented other threads from being created or replied to. Honestly, you don't have to read this thread if it bothers you that much.

Not sure, but i bet Morrowind has sold more copies on PC since 2005 when the 360 came out than on the original X box, Morrowind still sells now on Steam

I don't know. Maybe initially the Xbox version outsold the PC one. I can't imagine by much though. But the game has had so many GOTY editions for sale everywhere, and it's on Steam now, so the PC sales should be way above the Xbox ones at this point.

lol. I remember that horrifying day, looking at my X-Box Morrowind, and then finally realizing that it was a 'Platinum Edition', not a 'GOTY edition'. Needless to say, I went to Gamestop or whatever the local game store was called at the time that day. xD

People, be patient. This isn't doomsday. Seriously, there are way more important things in life to get worked up about. The "drama" in here is a bit much. Business is business; no one is personally insulting you with this exclusivity deal.

For a long while PC version was showing over 5 million concurrent players playing Skyrim on any given day, and it is doubtful that every player was playing with Steam online, and that every player who owns the game was playing every day. Now take into considering that up to the lastest VG numbers the Xbox 360 version sold 6 million copies world wide, and that 5 million players playing on an given day was back in January.

I wouldn't doubt that the PC version sold just as much if not more as the Xbox360 version.

Lol - the highest figures I have seen on steam playing skyrim were 1.? million - I could look it up again but what's the point - pc players still cannot accept the fact they are not bethesda's highest selling platform

They might have exceeded ps3 but I even seriously doubt that

Hey.
I'm a PC player
and I don't care one bit which platform was or wasn't the highest seller.
I just think it's crap that they're treating one platform to endless gifts (so to speak) and leaving the others in the dark (almost) completely.
Regardless, I've lost any form of rage or attitude I had over this. I just can't wait for this announcement, and I hope it's a good one, for my fellow PC players and PS3 players. =)

Boxed sales alone were 2.3 million for PC, but Digital sales have already hit over 50% of total sales for PC games industry. So yeah, no doubt it is at least equal to Xbox360 by now in sales.

This guy's right. At peak times, steam has between 4 and 5 million active players. Never, ever do all of these play one single game. Skyrim never had 5 million players active at the same time on steam. Even right now we've only got 35k.

the meaning of "soon" from the dictionary.

I think he meant what are you trying to prove. There is no universal definition for exactly how long 'soon' is other than 'a short period of time', people have their own perspectives, it's for the most part subjective.
