Bethesda aren't giving Xbox the DLC first for no reason. They do because Microsoft paid for that. And you PC players have mods and all that that Xbox gamers will never have, but you're still complaining. Wow dude.

There can be no mods for consoles, consoles are only usefull for playing games but nothing else. You cant construct a game in a console
Nobody said you could. You can however apply mods. How do you think the DLC works? The only reason consoles don't have access to something similar to the steam workshop is because microsoft and sony don't want them to. Microsoft especially doesn't like their users getting free content. They want to charge for things like that.

Edit: Just to clarify, when I say you can apply mods, I mean the technology is there. I don't mean to say you the player are able to apply mods at the moment.

Moderator Comment: I am really not liking the tone two pages into this thread. The same handful of people are posting repetitive comments. If you keep saying the same stuff over and over in a thread, take a deep breath, take a step back and ask yourself why you keep doing that? Are you that freaked out over waiting on info that it makes you repeat yourself? Are you that bored that you just want to try and generate drama where there is none? Gstaff has posted in the prior thread that they expect to have some details for everyone soon. They will provide info when they have something specific to tell you all - as they have done countless times before. As most of you know.

As a member, not a moderator, let me comment:
I do love these Bethesda games, I am looking forward to the DLC on PC, since I am a PC gamer - but I don't lose perspective over these things - making as if it's all some big conspiracy or personal insult that I don't get the DLC yesterday. It's all so Veruca Salt. "I want it Nooooooow!" While I wait, I explore games from Steams summer sale, I found The Secret World - which is freaking awesome... and you know, my days go along just fine. I'll be happy when the DLC is released for my platform. But I don't need to work myself up over it. Summer's too short, plenty of other fun things to do.

I'm sorry respectful moderator , but this little sentence is the whole problem.
As people know this 'soon' thing means nothing but a long time wait ( I think so too )

Well said. These threads revolve around hyperbole. This situation we are in is trivial and petty, it's bemusing why some people are genuinely angry about it. We've been waiting three days, that's nothing at all. Dust in the wind, water under the bridge.

You people should have been on the Codemasters forums for Operation Dragon Flashpoint. Lord knows what your reaction would be. A bodybag probably.

That is a problem... how, exactly? It is a problem for your patience? Is it a problem because one wants to define what "soon" is? Is it a problem because for you personally it is not "now"? See what I mean about perspective? The point of my post is... information will get here when it gets here. Waiting on a DLC release is truly not a "problem". It's a very minor annoyance in the grand scheme of things.

The elitist attitude of pc players is beyond belief

They think they created Bethesda - if it was not for the original Xbox and morrowind success(Bethesda sold more on Xbox than on pc) - then there would not have been an oblivion or skyrim

Microsoft paid for exclusivity and this has nothing to do with favoritism - it has everything to do with money

If not for the Xbox success - there would not be a skyrim in the first place

Jeeeeez!

Bethesda made a business decision and so did Microsoft - they both made a business decision involving probably large amounts of money - how many people are really pissed and not gonna buy dawnguard - maybe 10,000(very seriously doubt the number is even close to that - much less - fans of skyrim will still buy)
Even at 10000 x 20 - that is only 200000
More than likely - Microsoft paid in seven figure range for exclusivity

Either way - good business decision

We all love elder scrolls series no matter when we get it

Grow up pc players - you should thank the Xbox console for you even being able to have a skyrim to play

The problem is , that when they say soon , it means that we can't know when.
And with Bethesda and past experiences , it could mean a LOT of time.

Why they can't at least say " We don't know yet , we're currently doing X and Y and when we will finish this we will say. "

Microsoft also publishes windows platform. So why are they favoring xbox over PC?
There's a pretty simple answer to that. Microsoft gets a cut off of every game and DLC sold on the Xbox, because it's a closed platform which they own. Nobody has to pay licensing fees to Microsoft for publishing anything on the PC, so there are no real advantages to them for promoting the PC platform. Pretty much everyone already owns a Windows OS anyway.

Still, I'm not sure what their strategy is with paying for the DLC exclusives. I don't think they believe it will make PS3/PC Skyrim players buy an Xbox copy. Maybe the idea is that if people keep seeing DLC being released on Xbox first they may buy future games on Xbox, because of the exclusives it gets. These days the consoles are fairly cheap so there are plenty of people who own both a PS3 and an Xbox. When a game comes out they will have to choose whether to buy the game for the Xbox or the PS3. And generally there isn't a big difference between the two versions of the game, so the hint of future exclusive could make people choose the Xbox version over the PS3 version.

That's my guess, at any rate.

Personally, I'm not too fussed at the moment. I knew it wouldn't be released on the other two exactly 30 days after the Xbox version, and the number of bugs suggested that they might try and sort some of the mess out beforehand. I'm also sans PS3 at the moment thanks to a yellow light so as long as it lands at some point before October (when I should hopefully be able to pick up a new one) I'm happy to wait.

With the 'Soon' , comeon no body trusts the 'Soon' anymore , give a real answer or keep quiet ( which will make it even worse )

As a PC user, I already get access to cool goodies XBox players will never have. I make a point of telling all my friends, in the hopes that they'll get into the modding community (at least on the download side). Either way, I can wait a bit.

At least Bethesda hasn't pulled a Duke Nukem Forever, yet...

If any PC users in here haven't played Moonpath to Elsweyr, that could bide some time...

Like the moderator said, 'soon' is a matter of perspective. I don't think a month is that long. In fact, in the grand scheme of things it objectively isn't. This is just gamer impatience and self entitlement.

You still have not given specific examples with your past experiences with "soon".

Beth claimed they would release Skyrim on 11/11/11.
Guess what happened? They did it.

It appears that Xbox is getting more than 30 days of exclusivity.

Microsoft has been trying to grow its exclusive offers for years. Sony and Nintendo both own tons of exclusive titles. Microsoft doesn't own nearly as much, Halo, Gears of War, Fable and a few, smaller titles. For the most part, Microsoft doesn't have nearly as many exclusive games as Sony or Nintendo. What Microsoft has been doing instead for the past 2-3 years is timed exclusives. You can see this with Call of Duty too. COD map packs will release a month or a few months on Xbox before any other platform.

Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo are all just trying to find ways to add value to the consoles that they sell. As much as people want to hate the one that is currently depriving them, the other two will be doing the exact same thing next week with other exclusive games and offers.

I see , so that means that the PC already is the most valuable :D

PC will always be the most valuable platform as it gives the user the greatest amount of freedom. It is also the most expensive hardware, but the cheapest software.

Really?
Yes lol. To an above post about exclusive titles, the PC has a lot of exclusive titles as well. Games that could not be released on consoles as they are too complicated for consoles to handle.
