Well obviously people like it despite having played MMORPG's with Taxis. And obviously quite a few people enjoy the waiting as it gives them immersion- personally of the world actually being a world and not instances. Others might like it for other reasons. Perhaps we belong to a generation where we dont need to be spoon-fed 24/7 with content, and can enjoy the world in the game as a world and not some arcadegame.

While I personally like the idea of waiting for taxi, have a quite break, go outside and kick the dog etc...

I think the want-it-now crowd is gonna win, especially if they can explain in the lore.

Interestingly though the poll says that only 1 in 4 of us want instant travel. So maybe its not really all that popular, just has some noisy supporters. However we have to factor in the audience - people who are on the forum for a game which is not yet out, as this might not be representative of all players.

Lots of people have voted and the majority is pretty strong though.
