Pony Effect Thread #62

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 9:25 pm

i love the shooting in me2 better than me1, i just wish they hadn't stripped away all the powers avalible in me1, makes my engineer feel sort of useless. Also renagade!shep looks like a monster without the advanced med bay, i wish people would comment on it. LIke you think your love interest from the first one would be like "holy smozow! what happened to your face? why are your eyes glowing like a demon?" but instead their all cool with it lol

Please continue the discussion of the Mass Effect 3 ending http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1359280-mass-effect-3-ending-discussion-thread-spoilers/.

So that the rest of us can discuss the series in general in the main thread without fears of ending spoilers.

The reaction to the endings is completely justified, ...snip... Mass Effect 3 has so many high points yet the last 10 minutes ruin the franchise for me. N
Ok... just to be really clear, because you've gone a bit melodrama about it - the reaction to the endings is... a reaction. Period. The endings are what they are. People like, hate, are meh about them as is their personal subjective preference/opinion. If they want to go nuclear on the internet about it, that is their perogative. Even though I personally think it's a bit extreme. And if the last 10 minutes ruined the franchise for you, that's a shame. It's an excellent three game arc. I've read many terrific books and had problems with an ending, or a plot point that made me downgrade the book a bit, but it does not take away from 100s of pages of good story telling.

I like to keep a pretty balanced perspective on things. It helps when you see all the peaks and valleys of internet drama.

Hold the line! We will not let their rhetoric stand in our way this day. Can't believe people are just bending over and taking this kind of treatment.
Gamgee, you know I am fond of you... but dude... go sit, relax, have a nice beverage or something. It's a game, it had a - in my opinion - poorly realized ending that did mitigate my overall enjoyment, but it did not erase the fun I had with the game overall. Yeah, it would be nice if there was a clearer ending. But the developer did not treat anyone horribly - they told the story they wanted, even if we disagree with some of their decisions.

I'm with you brotha! I refuse to buy ME3 unless two conditions are met; at or below $20 or free ending fix. And there goes any hope of me buying any dlc for the first two games (I have both games but no dlc)
Let me be really clear. The ending is not broken. It's discombobulating. It's "meh".
And if you didn't get the Lair of the Shadow Broker DLC, you missed out on some fun.

I can't drink anything but water, and I can't eat the majority of food anymore. Considering I'm sick of water at the moment I think I'll just continue being the http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Determinator. Hold the line. People have to know that there's some people who wont give up. Now if it's a moderator order, then I guess that's a whole other story.

Edit
An interview tells how they had to cut out a lot of stuff to add in stupid kinect support. Oh guess what suffered because of that? The ending. No I say we demand better.

Edit2
This ending is so bad, I don't think I can stomach to try and finish a video game any time soon. The whole thing has just left a sour taste in my mouth about video games in general. Or games where the story is the focus.

I am sorry that happened, but unfortunately, in threads like this, if you are playing a new game that people are also playing and are ahead of you, you should mostly try to avoid it until you are at a point where spoilers might not happen. People try to be courteous, but just forget the spoiler tags now and again.
This, pretty much. I read the linked article, got very annoyed and typed up a fast response and posted before forgetting to add spoiler tags. I was posting on another forum at the same time where spoilers where allowed, and it just didn't occur to me.

Very sorry to anyone who read my post before I added spoiler tags - like Pistolero. I've had it happen to myself before and it isn't pleasant. Fortunately, a lot of the ending isn't spoiled and I spoke about a minority of the details, so the ending will still be a surprise. On that note, Snape kills Dumbledore.

Something I have been wondering, with how Javik looks in ME3 compared to the tentacle headed statues in ME1, how did the prothean design change so much?
Javik says that Ilos was built by those who came before the Protheans, thus the difference.

Or in other words, they retconned it.

what difficulty are the matches on? If you can't finish 11 rounds on bronze, there is definitely something wrong with your party.

They might depict one of the prothean slave races, or some sort of mythical creature.

Silver, was going for the Operation Goliath challenge. I was finding myself the last man standing on wave 5-6...with 2-3 active Banshees on the field.

Spoiler
Finally got face to face with Wrex and ended his miserable life. His immature actions only prove that the Krogan were not ready for the Genophage cure. The Krogan are a huge liability and they are most certainly not needed to win the war.

Apparently our cause got a mention on Fox news. They got their facts wrong by stating it would be fixed, there has been no word on this. But our cause is making progress, if we keep up this pressure Bioware will cave. It's reaching a larger and larger audience. We can do this. :batman: There will be justice today. Also this awesome batmanhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-u07UEDT5I song.

Lol, I like the disdain you Americans have for your own news stations. When I hear something on BBC or Sky the idea of it being wrong at the time seems ridiculous.

Hahahahaha, even some Canadians even find their news stations hilarious. Oh you poor idealistic romantic you. While all of them are suspect, I think Fox News is a specific case against the norm. I'm sure there could be dozens of people here.

We just heard they screwed up their information no less than a few minutes ago.
