We got a mention on CNN! Wow, even I'm a little surprised at how far we've come. I think I'll stick with the classic, you know it's coming. Hold the line!

Do you feel that? It's as if a million Leydenne's cried out in rage at this drama and were silenced. :hehe:

This is what the FTC was created for. While I do not think it needed to go this far I am glad it did. This whole debacle will hopefully teach the big dogs of the industry that they cannot keep flat out lying to us just to build up hype. I hope EA/Bioware really feels the pressure now.

I promised to myself I would hold the line and refuse to play ME3 until they fixed the import bug... but I don't know how long I can last. Seeing my bro play it, all this talk about endings, just makes me want to play it soo bad and see this legendary ending. I might just do a run as default Shepard and keep my helmet on all the time or something. Should I give in to the temptation, or hold the line?

If you do a save before attacking Cerberus main base you can. There is no going back if you do not.

How many times have we passed off blatant lies as "oh that's just PR"? Again, it did not need to go this far but I for one am tired of being outright lied to then told "Oh sorry, we didn't have time" or "we decided to go a different route" or in this case "we wanted you to discuss it". Sadly, almost every dev team does this and we just brush it off, give them our money [censored] quietly, give them more money for DLC and [censored] about that.

All I need to see now is an adapted speech from Independence Day and my day is made.
Good morning. In less than an hour, gamers from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest internet battle in the history of gaming.
Gaming -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today.
We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.
We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps its fate that today is the 17th of March, and you will once again be fighting for our games, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from Bioware.
We're fighting for our right to game, to have our decisions matter.
And should we win the day, the 17th of March will no longer be known as the 17th of March, but as the day when gamers declared in one voice:

"We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on!

We're going to survive!

We're going to have more than red, blue or green!

Our decisions are going to matter!"

Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

I could also apply some to SOPA if you want.

That bug is almost as bad as the ending (okay, maybe not almost). It was even present in the demo, so BioWare's known about it for some time. I'm holding off on my second playthrough until they fix it (my first was default face, so no import problems).

i must say, BioWare did a grand job with Thessia. Been playing games for over 20 years now and nothing has come close to the emotions i felt after completing that particular segment of the game. The sense of anger and utter dejection was like nothing else i have ever encountered whilst playing a game. It's the only time I've ever connected with a fictional character in a game. So much so, I had to switch the game off for an hour or so to calm down.

I also think they deserve huge credit for EDI. In ME2, whilst endearing, she never really captured my attention, however, as the the story in ME3 evolved, I couldn't help thinking that it was i that had shaped her personality and by extension, made me genuinely care about her as a character.

BioWare may be many things and the ending may not be to everyone's taste, but they sure know how to write an engaging story when they put their mind to it.

I guess I don't really care about that "bug" - they import the story elements. I always tweak my character from game to game anyway. So i just shrugged, made sure the story elements imported okay, and carried on. I wanted to change hairstyle anyway.

When they put their mind to it - there was a sequence in ME3 that was an absolut e gaming highpoint for me.
Spoiler
(The three missions on Rannoch and the resolution I worked for across all three games, really. Well, mostly 2 and 3, but still. )
And yeah, EDI grew on me.

Heh. Well, I sympathise. But every single Male shep I ever made, in any of the games, came out looking pretty much the same as the others I created, except eye color. I guess I have a "type"
