I'm really digging the MP now, hope they expand upon it. It's pretty barebones.

http://www.gameinformer.com/b/news/archive/2012/03/16/bioware-to-discuss-mass-effect-3-endings.aspx

Well this is better than what we have been getting. I can certainly see Bioware working on some DLC that may shed some light on the endings and hopefully clear some things up.
Hold the line, we will not collapse. We will change the future.

Sometimes implacable willpower and determination can change anything.

Edit
In a space of days we've heard Bioware go from lol no never going to cover this question to sweating and trying to placate us, and now this. An outright blatant attempt to cool our anger. This will not be accepted, neither will these trash writing endings. I've come to expect better of them. Not just in story terms, but quality of a product. They're not going to end it like this.

Edit2
I like how he marginalizes us, saying only hardcoe fans are the ones complaining. It just isn't so. Comics all across the internet, talk everywhere of how bad it was. This is a whole new level. Broken Steel was one thing, but this campaign is on a whole other scale. Already close to 55k in the charity drive. Bioware is beginning to crack. But the people who's money depends on game advertisemants like video game news sites and other places are trying to write us off as some small insignificant movement. Even the news sites have slowly started changing their opinion on our movement. The shock of how [censored] the ending is really beginning to take in their brains. Of how real this is. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xSoPCpDaHmMmark my words.

I think it has.

Also this is good measure too, we can create our ownhttp://social.bioware.com/forum/1/topic/355/index/9762840 to try and retake Mass Effect ending. Everyone should sign in, anything is better than nothing. Thunder Bay 23rd Mechanized Regiment (Mako Marauders) reporting in. I'm filed under Canada.

Can't help but think of it as "chaotic Stupid". Though it would be interesting to see how it affects ME3, so maybe in a future playtrough
Morinth does show up in ME3, near the end of the game.

Spoiler
She's a banshee that you have to kill.

Not that I had Morinth in my playthrough, this is just what I've been told.

No, that's a Paragon option. It only appears on if your Paragon score is high enough. Similarly red is a Renegade option. Romance options are not specially highlighted.

Success on Tuchanka!

I went against my better judgement and played ME3 to the ending. I turned it off when I got to the choices, terrible those 5-10 minutes killed the franchise and I felt the previous 5 minutes before Astro Boy appears were some of the better ones in the game. ME3 is still a good game but it only gets an 8/10 in my opinion. The awful Journal (That makes Skyrim's look amazing in comparasion, yes it's that bad in ME3), autodialoge of Shepard, Too much TPS and not enough RPG, lack of Replay value, choices don't really matter when we were promised that they would and the ending really ruins an incredible game. Mass Effect 1 is still king in my books over ME2 and ME3. I'll take flawed combat and a terrible late game inventory system over a waterdown cash cow product any day of the week. Hell I'll take ME2 over ME3 at this point, I'm that disappointed in ME3.

Casey's words are empty, just more typical PR talk. Why people give money to Bioware is beyond me, Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me. Phrase fits perfectly with Dragon Age 2 and Mass Effect 3, I certainly won't give them anymore money if we continue to get garbage from that company.

So I finished Reapers on Silver today with a very good group I happened across. We lost a couple times on Wave 9, but eventually one of the guys changed to an Adept for crowd control and then it went very well. The two infiltrators (myself and another guy) focused on the heavy targets while the others worked on crowd controlling and picking off the smaller crowds. The only times we really had trouble were in the later rounds when pretty much the only enemies to appear are Ravagers, Banshees, and Brutes.

My advice to any group trying it is this: try to use rockets wisely, but don't be afraid to use them if you get into trouble. The main reason we lost our first two was because everyone was being stingy with rockets until it was too late.

Oh, and for Infiltrators, don't forget you can revive people in cloak. The cloak will break afterwards so you'll need to hightail it to cover afterwards, but the tactic saved all our asses several times.

Here is a post from the Bioware forums that nails spot on why the ME3 failed epically:

Brent Knowles, who was the lead designer on Dragon Age: Origins, and one of the old guard Bioware developers (Baldur's Gate, Neverwinter Nights), and, when he quit Bioware, made the interesting observation that "Bioware is no longer the company I remember". He's talked a little bit about the ME3 situation on his blog, but they're mainly comments to other posts. Check it out at: www.brentknowles.com

One thing he did say, I thought I would share (if it's already been posted, I apologize), as it's a sentiment I happen to agree with:

"I read one recent blog post where the writer basically said "the ending was awesome because it was just like a movie" and I think she was missing the point.

It is a game. Not a movie.

And more specifically, its a role-playing game. The players are *part* of the game. Part of the process of building and experiencing the game, much more so than with most other forms of entertainment.

Entitlement is really a right, for the gamer, because they have participated, actively, in the game itself.

Again, I can't speak to the actual ending myself, because I have not played it but in general I'd say a Role-Playing Video Game Trilogy Ending should (try to) do the following:

1. Reward the player's choices throughout the series. The big stuff they did should be noted. They should *feel* like they had a unique impact on the world.

2. End on a positive note. This is really important for video games...life in general is full of s****y stuff happening all the time. When I invest a hundred hours into a game I need to walk away feeling like a hero.

When you waste a couple hours of a person's life with an artsy/depressing movie or short story or even a novel, it is more forgivable because the time spent is less. And presumably the consumer knew what they were going into when they started. Certain directors create certain styles of movie. Certain writers write specific types of fiction.

On the other hand somebody playing an epic role-playing video-game trilogy is going to *expect* to be the hero and save the universe. That's why they are playing the game. When expectations don't match reality, disappointment is created.

It might be an artistic/creative move to go with a different style of ending but I feel its the wrong choice, especially for a videogame *trilogy*. Make your middle game bleak if you want to, but end the series on a high note."

EDIT: Fixed the formatting of the quote, and for those looking for the original comment, it's in the following link. Scroll down a few comments to find it.

http://blog.brentknowles.com/2012/03/11/mass-effect-3-and-day-one-dlc/#disqus_thread
All mass effect does, is remind me why I love Alpha protocol, and Obsidian.

The ending shouldnt be dlc, planned or not. It should have been in the game. Even if it was free, it should be there from the get go.
Its kinda funny, fans hate how Biowre retcons everything. Leliana, Anders, Qunari, etc. Yet are now asking for the ending to be retconned.
I have no issue with endings that arent happy at all. Aslong as its logical I dont care. But ME3s ending isnt. The fact your choices dont matter, just make it worse.

So trying to beat the Reapers on Silver didn't go as planned. Got to round ten a few times, but every time a Banshee would kill one of us with their damn insta-kill attack, thus spelling doom for the rest of us.

My recommendation: save your rockets for situations like that when you're about to be cornered by something nasty. In desperate situations where you would have gone down anyway, it's worth taking the shot even if you end up downing yourself, because you've just cleared the area around you and made it much, much easier for a teammate to get to you.

Also, don't forget that killing or dealing enough damage to the banshee will cause her to drop a teammate as long as you do so before she actually does the impaling animation.

Well this is better than what we have been getting. I can certainly see Bioware working on some DLC that may shed some light on the endings and hopefully clear some things up.
Honestly, that link should be named "Casey Hudson fails to address any fan complaints". He sort of acknowledges them, sure - but he doesn't actually address any of the actual concerns the fans have.

Spoiler
I mean, he doesn't address any of the legitimate concerns about massive plot holes. He says they wanted the ending to be a "resolution to all the countless storylines and decisions you've made", ignoring the fact that the ending is literally the exact same no matter what you've done throughout the games.

Instead of addressing concerns about the end, he just tries to downplay the fan reaction as if they're a minority by saying that a bunch of other people liked it. He must be completely out of touch with his fan base.

He also patronizes those who are annoyed by the ending by making it out as if we're just annoyed we didn't get our "super happy ending where Shepard marries his LI", etc. Most of the people I've seen aren't annoyed by the fact that Shepard dies, but by the massive plot holes, identical endings and the fact that every mass relay blows up, and we don't see any explanation for the massive galaxy changing events this will have.

And instead of promising answers, justification or even changing the ending (though I'm not too sure if that is the best idea) his consolation is that they'll be making DLC. You know, so you can give them more money.

No way, Casey Hudson. No way I'm giving Bioware anymore of my money after this debacle and Dragon Age 2.

Some people are taking the game way too seriously. Reminds me of an article I read last night about Second Life. Apparently it's deteriorated into cliques. One of these cliques is the JLU -- a group that likes to dress its avatars up in spandex and play superhero, by patrolling the interwebs and trolling, griefing and abusing people it suspects of badmouthing Linden Labs and/or doing illegal or shady/unacceptable things. These people are so involved in this JLU that they send spy bots out to places in Second Life to gather dirt, orchestrate mass ambushes, etc. They even have their own secure wiki where they list all of their possible "enemies", what's happening with lulzsec and Anonymous and how they can help authorities in that regard, and where they discuss who in their ranks could be spies, and... :shakehead: They sound like a thoroughly pathetic bunch.

It's a game. You're disappointed with the endings, and that's understandable. What is not understandable is the militant reaction. It's just a little bit too sad to watch. Get a grip, and get a life.

As much as my day and much of gaming experience is ruined thanks to aforementioned spoiler, I don't think it sounds too awful.

Spoiler
Though I don't like the idea of Shepard dying. Is it mandatory? That would svck big time. All this way to die? Can't I just throw unnamed NPCs to the suicide mission? My renegade Shep would never go for self-sacrifice. Shepard is too important to die.

A sad as this is can someone send me a pm with how to do a spoiler tag i keep messing it up.

To the person who said that the game was rushed out, actually its the opposite, the game was held over, it had a possible release date then it was held over to make changes, those changes were the multiplayer, my major gripe with the multiplayer aspect is that mass effect has always been a single player game, and i was hoping that they wouldnt sell out to the other game franchises that have single and multiplayer and now concentrate more on the multiplayer than the single player. They survived 2 other versions without multiplayer and now choose to put in multiplayer for the last one, but not as a stand alone but it also affects the outcome in the single player campaign that has been without multiplayer.

And yes someone has already said yes but it only make this difference, i wont say as no spoiler tag, but thats a choice i dont get in single player, i have to play multiplayer, and i dont play multiplayer, because of the multi in multiplayer, i enjoy single player games, because im the only person whos throat i can reach. I think the only thing they want people to think about is where the franchise can go from here with multiplayer versions, or an MMO, which has been thrown around as future for the game, rumours have it that they are going to create another mass effect without shepard, but i think ME3 is a sounding board for multiplayer and its popularity.

Thanks for that :thanks:. And i never thought of that.
Spoiler
If you get a high readiness score in multiplayer you get to see all 3 ending plus shepard lives, in singleplayer you can only get 50% readiness but still make max 3800 and see all 3 ending but you die in all versions

And yes i nearly put the same thing in last thread, but i messed the spoiler tags up and had to quickly delete the text, the person who posted it should have used better judgement.
