Pony Effect Thread #63

Post » Mon May 14, 2012 12:06 pm

So does anyone have any suggestions as to how I'm going to get through the derelict reaper on insanity. I almost lost on normal to the flood of husks, as I am playing a soldier. Suggestions would be much appreciated.
you need squadmates with good crowd control abilities. its insta-kill when husks get knocked off their feet.

mordin's cryo blast is good along with jack's shockwave, if you build them right, they have a really short cooldown.

Also, EA's stock dropped today about 30 cents. I assume tomorrow is going to bring another drop in the price.
Awesome, this is a great morale boost for all of us hoping for a good ending. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6IL8F6IeJGA#t=3m37s

I don't think there is a console. You could see if the save editor is working. That might work, but don't hold your breath.

I should specify, I'm playing through ME1, since I'm new to the series. I've found some codes to use for changing gender, but does it open up the creation menu?

Wha ever happened to the "Dark Energy Theory" that Tali was working on in ME2?

I both like and dislike not having the option of changing your face once you've already selected it. I like it because I can't think of any good reasons to actually allow it to happen. I dislike it because, as I'm sure that everyone who has ever created a face that they wanted to be "Just Right" knows, you always, always find something that you would like to tweak.

Oh, and by the way, Mr. Lord Tidus, can you not use a different font? That one kind of hurts my eyes.

Oh there's no save editor for mass effect 1 sorry. Your going to have to live with a neck thick enough to snap a noose. I know I had the same problem. Be proud. :cryvaultboy:

Edit
Believe it or not that dark energy stuff was going to be our ending. It got dropped for the current one. I read their plans for that ending, it had slightly less choice, but at LEAST it made perfect sense for the lore. Though people would have been pissed at the lack of closure. Better, but not saying much. Now if it had some closure attached to it, then perhaps this movement would never have started or would really be a tiny minority on their forums.

Psh, you couldn't get a noose around this guys neck unless you used half the damn thing for slack. It only bugs me in cut scenes, the character I've shaped so far is pretty spot on as to how I wanted it after restarting multiple times for cheek bone issues. I suppose I'll have to stomp Geth looking like Hank from King of the Hill.

Excellent, you can tweak it the next game in the series anyhow. Though I grew kind of fond of that superior neck muscles. It made me stand out compared to so many other Shepards.

And once you import to ME2 you'll have to do it all over again!

...wait. :(

Perhaps it'll grow on me. In any case I'm pretty damn addicted so far, and maybe by the time I play through ME1 and 2 this 'ending' I'm hearing so much about will be fixed.

There's real hope now. Me, and the entirety of the others in the movement will http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UXLVFnl3WcE! I can feel so much more proud of posting that, we have a real chance.

Edit
This http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qD-VDnlnfOw&ob=av3e reminds me of the whole situation with trying to get the ending dlc made. Srs bizz.

Humans = retake moment. Unknown aliens = the me3 ending and the horrors it entails. Advent = people who liked the ending. Hahah I jest.

What is the N7 multiplayer ranking? I have a level 20 Vanguard and a level 9 Soldier. My N7 rank is 29. What's the max?

Question 1) Rank is similar to the prestiege system form call of duty in regards to "experience played". This does however give a better idea as to how competent the player is.

Question 2) Unknown at the time. If you look on the Xbox 360 leaderboards, the top person is ranked over 1,300. I myself am over 270.

I've been itching to re-start Mass Effect 1. Now that I know what are the right choices I can be more careful in making them. A lot more people will die over the course of the games, though.

Re Javik

Spoiler
Is there any dialouge re Javik and the Collectors?
Spoiler
Little. The Collectors make appearance in his cutscenes and it turns out the Collectors were the same thing as Husks and Cannibals are to modern species - PoWs and the like just converted to work as infantry. Javik does remark how the Reapers turned the Protheans' own children against them, not that they felt any remorse killing them
My FemShep's full name is Keiko Lee Paragon Shepard. Weird.
Two-part first names kick ass. That's a fact.
Does anyone know how
Spoiler
many war assets are needed for the best ending? 5000, right? Because I just got that amount, and I just need to get my readiness up to 100%. Got the Geth and Quarians to coexist  Also, I keep my blood dragon helmet on all the time so I can imagine it's my shepard's face instead of the default shep
Spoiler
I had 4800 assets and 93% readiness and got the "best" ending

The savegame editor seems to work well: I used it to import a new face for my character halfway through and I don't think it's had any ill effects--the occasional bug I encountered seems to have been widely reported elsewhere, for example.

Edit: this is for ME3 rather than answering the ME1-related question, I should add!

Well, it's more about wasting people I don't like and making good choices elsewhere to still get the best war assets.
Spoiler
like shooting Wrex in Virmire, so I don't need to kill Mordin in Tuchanka.

Okay I just downloaded a file that has all the audio clips of Harbinger and I noticed that there are some where he starts listing off other races and "apparently" why they weren't chosen. When were these used in the game?

I think I actually restart ME3 instead of the whole series. I could go Vanguard this time, Soldier was an incredible piece of snooze.

I do have a MaleShep in early stages of ME2 but I had to give him up because I was too disturbed by his resemblance to this crappy officer I used to know. I mean, seriously, the two are identical. Once I realized this something died inside me.

When you pick appropriate teammate. For Garrus he whines about how primitive they are and so on.

I know in past reapings some people become collaborators and were indoctrinated and thus not kill but they were mindless thralls anyways, which i still find strange because the point was to eliminate the set organics at that period, it sort of points out that the reapers had choice.

Collectors and other thralls are needed since the Reapers themselves are unable to work at ground level. I can only assume that the thralls are wiped out by the next cycle since we never see thralls from past civilizations except the Collectors.

Maybe they needed the Protheans for a little while to build the next Reaper... maybe Harbinger is the Prothean Reaper?

I just completed ME1 last night, ME2 to-day and to-morrow ME3 :D. Still playing a renegande, Cerberus poster-boy Sheperd but more realistically; he isn't just mean for the sake of being mean, he likes Garrus and Tali but will screw them over if he has too.

Spoiler
They tried to build a Prothean Reaper but they failed and Collectors were demoted to.. well.. Collectors.

EDIT: For the record, http://images.wikia.com/masseffect/images/d/d1/Ilos_statues_2.png are the Inusannon, the original inhabitants of Ilos and the race whacked by the Reapers before the Protheans.
