Is Skyrims price fair ?

Wait until the summer and grab it for 1/2 price. TES games are spaced out so far apart it's bad economics to to pay the initial svcker price for one. If you opt for the PC version there will be a pile of quality mods and user made bug-fixes ready to be applied by summer.

This game, like many other games, is absolutely worth far more than $60 to many, many people. As others have pointed out, its pretty much the cheapest form of entertainment on a dollars per hour basis; its more cost effective than TV, its far more cost effective than movies or theater, and it is tiny in comparison to going to a concert or an amusemant park or really just about anywhere. If the only way to get skyrim was to pay several hundred dollars for it, lots of people would still do it, because it really is worth that much (to many people--not everyone). Bethesda clearly either believes that the increased number of sales from selling at $60 balances the loss in marginal profit or they think the negative PR from pricing their game far above the "norm" would do more harm than good. Either way, its good for us. I certainly won't complain that they're selling below what I value their product at, that's just more value for me :)

To be short: No

But that is a general problem since I think all games are to expensive these times. I don't know if the reason for this is the excessive copying of games or the excessive amount of money that is spent on copy protection and DRM stuff.

I still believe there would be less copying and more buying if there would be games would be worth the money. That means innovation in game development as well as making effective use of actual technology. I still wonder why Skyrim uses outdated tech when your about two generations away in terms of software development. It must be laziness that creeps into developers who have already achieved something big.
