PS3 Release for Dawnguard #33

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 9:02 pm

The point is i and many others have tried all other available means of contacting and communicating with them, short of standing outside their offices with a megaphone, and so far we've been met with a wall of silence or rehashed company spawned excuses and spin. I know the saying is "No news is good news" but there are 2 ways to read that statement and in Beths case it's the worst way - none if their minimal news is ever good.

They are just generally ignoring us for some reason, which is a bad move. I am a ps3 user at heart, and i will strongly consider not buying anything from them on the next playstation console. But by them not saying it is cancelled, i think they will release something before Christmas, or even give us the content as a xmas present.

So, does anyone know if gstaff has answered anything but "softball" questions in the blog forum yet?

BTW, for the previous poster a few pages back:

Did you ever find out what was up with the game store clearing the shelves of Skyrim?

Absolutely nothing of consequence.

We might be lucky and get the 1.8 patch for xmas but as for DLC......

Just a thought - if Xbox gets the new DLC on 4th Dec does that mean they already have or are expecting the 1.8 patch in the near future? If so when do we get our svck of the lolly?

[RANT]
I know Bethesda and Sony are "working hard and not giving up" on the DLC, but the fact that the 3rd Skyrim DLC has been announced and will likely be released on the other platforms before the 1st one will be released for the PS3 is truly disheartening.

I want to be excited about the Dragonborn DLC, I really do! But this whole delay with the PS3 DLC ports utterly blows!

Part of me just wants Bethesda to just give up so I can stop checking here and stop being disappointed every time a new Skyrim DLC gets announced that won't be coming to PS3 anytime soon... :swear:

1.8 is also a prep patch so it should be released on/before Dec. 4th for 360 to coincide with Dragonborn's release.

What that also tells PS3 users is that since no DLC is coming their way then there's no need for them to have 1.8 in Bethesda's eyes. (paying for cert) So we could easily end up with a situation like 1.6 on PS3 where it simply never comes or rather gets lumped into the next patch much later.

Sorry, just had to add that little bit at the end.

I think it's safe to say no dlc will be coming to ps3 given the silence.

Let's look at the bright side..all the money Bethesda is NOT making by NOT letting us buy DLC! HA!

LOL that fella hasn't said much of anything about anything since right before Dawnguard was released on the 360. Personally i doubt we hear from him again til the buzz machine starts into over-drive about Fallout 4....then i predict he clams up when the topic of a PS3 version of FO4 rears its ugly head.

The sudden excess of silence its because they dont want to deal with the Huge crowd of Angry PS3 Users (myself included), They know they are wrong, they know that this is a terrible mistake that will cost a lot of money for Beth and thats why they say "we dont give up" they dont want to be the ones who tell the whole ps3 angry crowd we aint getting any dlc ever. Yes "we dont give up" but, look at the progress man! A WHOLE GAME CAN BE PROGRAMMED IN LESS THAN 3 MONTHS AND THIS GUYS TELL US THEY ARE HAVING TROUBLES WITH SOME EXTRA CONTENT? O M G.... You cant make people pay for something that isnt even finish, they are using us as beta testers of this game soy they can make a good performance in other platforms, otherwise how do you explain everyone is getting 1.8 patch exept us? Because we are their test subjects, using general codification between Xbox and PS3 (ps3 coding its not the same as Xbox but they have some general code they share). They are waiting until the users calm down to tell us the truth, they know the impact it will cause on users, but they are still selling copys of TESS V so in order to avoid losing money they will tell us anything for a long time.

Modern day games take longer then 3 months to create, 3 months is about how long they spend debugging and polishing a game up before its release.

This could happen. Where they just skip ps3 for this patch, and roll it into another.

If your going to knock down a wall you need a big hammer if the hammer is not big enough get a bigger one. If their still giving you wall of silence then the PS3 community is not yet swinging a big enough hammer.

That's too bad. I have to admit, the optimistic part of me was kind of hoping for a recall/re-release of Skyrim coded to work properly on the PS3 console. However, after I thought about it, the optimistic side of me was beaten into submission by my memories of past games and the lack of regard or concern Bethesda has shown the PS3 community.

The extreme silence is disconcerting though. Gstaff completely ignoring PS3 users on the blog, not even mentioning the "we're working on it" line. Pete Hines and gstaff's twitter feeds going quiet about their latest release. That is very weird. One would think they would be gushing about the new, shiny DLC they just announced, but no. Nothing.

We're banding together with a plan that hopefully will change the tide - and if it works trust me it's one biga$$ hammer

Please don't say it's a facebook petition or some other kind of social media thing. It has been proven that Bethesda really doesn't care about things like that and completely ignores them. Right now, their blog is absolutely blowing up with anger and rage, and they don't seem to care. Over 350 posts since yesterday, at least 90-95% angry PS3 users, and not one answer. Not even an acknowledgement of their existence.

I 'm disappointed by the lack of concern for us ps3 players, from the trailer dragonborn looks amazing but i wasn't happy when i saw 'for xbox 360 on december 4th', why are pc and ps3 getting no mention? whats going on Bethesda? It would of been nice if ps3 got the next dlc first, but its very unlikely that will happen :(
I'll wait and see what happens on december 4th, maybe something may happen if we are lucky.

There are glimmers of hope: In a recent Bombcast where Dishonored was being discussed, Patrick admitted to knowing full-well that it was a different developer using a different engine but that because the game said 'Bethesda' on the box he played the PS3 version for a bit just to make sure that it wasn't a broken mess. As I said, it's a glimmer but it's still progress.

The gaming media was raked over the coals in regards to Skyrim on PS3 and it woke a lot of people up to the fact that they do not have consumers in mind at all while reviewing games. But that's what happens when you operate in a lump which prefers one platform and never pays for products.

OK a very small and dim glimmer.

No that's true, but my ps3 would probably blow up if I accessed the emailed patch data through the built in internet connection.. or I know I could burn it to a data disk or DvD and try and install that way

Well, do you have an external HDD that is formated to FAT32? That's how I typically get updates in for my PS3 since I don't have to waste time waiting for long updates. Use the PC.

No though we have a silent uprising on twitter this is much bigger and nowhere even close to social media - unless you class BBC TV as social media

I was going to say something flippant about it being rude to talk with your mouth full and what he has a mouth full of but decided against it

Ba-zing. *rimshot*

It's a real shame this 3rd DLC is coming out and nothing yet for PS3. It's obvious that Bethesda is not doing everything they could do. They could reallocate some of the resources into fixing the issues with the PS3 version, but continue to put forth as little as effort possible to ensure that favored customers who pay the same price get preferential treatment.

No I don't, all my HDD's are NTFS - have to see if I can scamble one up - don't suppose Linix ubuntu would work?
