PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #4

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 8:29 am

You know....why won't they just communcate with us...it be easier and it put our minds at ease....

What more can they tell you that they haven't already said? They said it's being delayed due to many issues that need fixing and someone above just posted a quote from Hines saying that Dawnguard is not cancelled but only delayed. They probably can't give a set date for release because they don't know how much longer it will take. We all know if they did set an official release date for Dawnguard on PS3 and it gets delayed again, this forum would probably explode from angry users.

I dont expect to see Dawnguard before 1.8 patch. There must have a trophy (and the "Extras" option in the main menu, for exemple) patch so the DLC can be released. Seeing none of those were included in PS3's 1.7, as it did with PC (and 1.6 on Xbox 360), DG will probably be released late september/october.
Damn you, Bethesda Silenceworks!

Anyone who still thinks that DG isn't coming out, check pete hines twitter for august 3rd. He sorta kinda comfirmed it. No worries guys, this is a matter of time.

true, all true but, now that we have the patch atleast give us a time line, like we will have the problems fixed & the dlc released sometime between late august to early september.
but thats where we have the doudle edged sword. if bethesda releases the dlc like they did the pc's the fans will say this proves they don't care about us pc & ps3 users. & people will get even madder.
but if they say something & another problem comes up & they can't release it with in that timeline then people will still get mad.
I for one i'm mad only because Bethesda made a stupid move, agreeing to a 30 day deal & hurt your sells for Pc & ps3 witch both together draws 10X more money in Skyrim sells then Xbox 360 does. ( & yes i'm talking about all platforms worldwide ) & i for one have waited patitently & August is my waiting limit i'm not waiting for a Dlc that has no release date thats Bethesda's fault the Dlc isn't ready not anyone elses. does that mean if the Dlc isn't released by the end of august i won't get it? no i will but just at a later date because again i'm not waiting longer then august for this Dlc - Againstallodds14

sorry fellas...But this is the direct result of the microsoft payoff...Think what you will, its deliberately being held until the payoff wears off...You honestly think they had the pc, and 360 versions fully finctioning on release day, and ps3 STILL isnt working, even AFTER the so called 30day delay bought by microsoft? Gimme a break! Microsoft is a company i will never invest in, in any way, shape or form..And bethesda is now up there on my [censored]list with ACTIVISION, AND ea!

I don't think that's true because if agreeing to a temporary exclusive deal with Xbox costs them more money, they wouldn't have done it and risk singling out and possibly losing customers from the other platforms. Basically the only reason for signing a deal like this is to make more money.

Okay...hopefully this will shut some of you up....this was Tweeted from Pete Hines on August 3rd...

Dawnguard PS3 is not cancelled. If it was, we would have said that. We simply said we aren't satisfied with its performance yet.

Here is the link to prove it...

https://twitter.com/DCDeacon

again...tweeted on august third!

It is coming out...we just need to be patient. I honestly would not be surprised to see it on the PS store the next time the store updates.

Thank you for the link. Everyone needs to take a pill. It is coming. I just hope they do something to sweeten the pot for us. I mean honestly. No apology yet? Seriously?

Lol, nah don't worry about it. It's easy to overlook comments. Especially in this thread where a new one is getting made pretty much everyday.

It seems more like bad business planning. They decided to launch it for one platform, and didn't have it ready when they launched it for the other playform. So in their month time they thought they could get it ready, but they couldn't.

Then they keep us in the dark and just say, it's not ready. If they can't give us an estimation date, that means it's a long time cause they can't even tell how much work they need to put in to it to make it satisfactory.

This is just basic business 101. Microsoft nor Bethesda are the only ones out there doing this. Sony has signed plenty of deals to keep full games exclusive to their system, and not just temporarily either. They're not the first to do this, and they definitely won't be the last. So hating one company for this type of deal is very hypocritical since the other does the exact same thing.

Like I stated in a previous post, they're probably hesitating on giving an official release date or even an estimated one for that matter because if for some reason the DLC needs to be delayed again, PS3 users will most likely burn down their building.

true but the thing is some people on Pc & Ps3 have already stated that there not waiting for this dlc & they'll either buy it later or not at all.
& in a business thats not good people are & or were feeling lefted out & forgotten about. so yeah they did lose money on this idea & the scary part about this is it will happen again with the next dlc. so figure the hundred or so people worldwide that was & is felt in the dark about dawnguard & will be again about the next dlc, & that surpise release to pc no one saw coming, i for one think this has hurt the dlc's sells.

Precisely. They want to be sure. BUT... they need to give us something... anything. They haven't even said... we apologize for the inconvenience. I still think that some kind of discount or free stuff would be the quickest way to win back the hearts of PS3 fans.

I actually don't think the idea of discounted or even free stuff would be a good idea. They're not making this to where you're forced to buy it so in their eyes they haven't done anything worthy of offering discounts. The DLC is an option where whomever wants it can buy it and so on. Plus, one platform getting discounts or free stuff would cause an uproar with the other platform users. Lol

But I don't really know though and can't really comment or speculate on the idea of discounted items since I'm not a PS3 user and don't fully know how you guys are feeling.

Mr. Tweet verifys Dawngaurd DLC is not cancelled yet, they are still "working on it". Fine, so how about finishing the communication. NO release date is necessary, but a plege / confirmation that Bethesda definitely will release it at some point in the future would go a long way with us. Make a COMITTMENT to your PS3 patrons Bethesda! Enough with the sidestepping , and ambiguous BS. The longer you draw this situation out , the worse you look......

FOR THE LAST TIME.....THERE IS NO REASON TO BELIEVE THAT DAWNGUARD IS CANCELLED FOR PS3...IT HAS BEEN TWEETED BY PETE HINES. CHECK ON MY LINK ON PAGE 3. ANYONE WHO IS THINKING/SAYING IT IS CANCELLED, IS JUST TRYING TO CREAT CHAOS. WE DONT NEED ANY OF THAT IN HERE. ;)

Yes... YES! Sadly, Bethesda Silenceworks doesnt care for PS3 owners, so Tweet Hines must tweet ambiguous and vague news, while the Bethesda employees are chilling on a caribbean beach, not giving a single f about the matter.
I lost my patience with this just a week ago. Since november I've been quiet, but this is just plain stupidity.

Yeah, Stormy, appreciate you trying to focus on the positive, but I'm going to ask you to look at if from a little more distant point. Where does he say they still WILL (come helll or highwater ) release it? There's no official announcement / committment either way. All we know is they are still working on it. If they were confident they were going to release it in the future, don't you think they'd be telling us that??? Pete HInes is the "Mouth of Sauron Bethesda" If you look into his earlier tweets you'll also find a communication refuting someones assertion that Bethesda has specifically announced that the PS3 was getting DLC. He states they'd never made an official announcement. Believe what you will....

When you go to a restaurant and order a meal and it takes 2 hours for them to bring it. they give it to you for free. When you tell a bunch of gamers that there is a 30 day exclusivity deal keeping them from buying something and then 2 weeks after you are still scrambling to get it to them... you give them a discount.

Makes sense to me.

A meal is something you can only "use" once and is time limited due to health issues. DLC content you can use as much as you like for life, there is no time limit and doesnt cause any health issues by being "late".

Discount makes zero sense to me. You folks want it cheaper just because you have to wait? Yeah right.
