PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #11

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:06 pm

Coby, please stop it. We answered you, we asked you to stop trying to make it sound like we are "entitled". I'm trying to be polite here but you keep ignoring everyone who actually answers you just to focus on responding to quotes that let you keep calling us entitled.

If Coby won't stop, I ask everyone else here, please stop replying to him. He can't continue if we ignore him.

We paid for a version of Skyrim that was promised support. They promised us the DLC. People aren't demanding something they didn't pay for. They are demanding to be treated the same as everybody else. It's NOT just about getting the DLC. How do you still not get this? But, sure, we hear you, you think that we don't deserve the DLC because we didn't pay for it. Everybody else disagrees and thinks you are trolling. This is a thread about Dawnguard on PS3. If you are just going to call us entitled, then once is fine.

Are Bethesda even reading this thread? Or is that too much for them to do too?

I'm not trying to be confrontational but that's not correct. You nor I were promised anything. Buying Skyrim doesn't entitle anyone to anything more than the game they bought. That's why DLC is seperately released and priced. Is basically like buying another game and purchasing the base game doesn't mean you're being promised extra content.

With that being said, I'm not saying PS3 shouldnn't get Dawnguard. I actually would like to see all the content on every platform. I don't know what exactly is causing the delay so I can only comment and speculate on the matter like everyone else..

And I don't think Bethesda themselves actually read the forums, except for Gstaff. And as far as I know that's just a person to deliver information from Bethesda to the forum. I could be completely wrong. For all I know Gstaff is Todd Howard.

That is fine with me. I was just wondering. A forum is for giving opinions yes?

Only reason I kept responding was because people clearly took issue with it, so I explained what I meant and people were blatantly wrong about patches (in then case) not being considered add-on content, when they add content.

Oh, and to put the nail in the coffin of the "add-on content" = "patches" trolling. Bethesda themselves call Dawnguard The FIRST add-on for Skyrim, clearly showing that they don't count patches to be "add-on content". Therefore, PS3 has not gotten add-on content despite being promised it on the back of the box.

I can't remember them ever saying without a doubt that it would come to PS3... I remember them saying that there was a 30 day exclusive to Xbox, I do not however remember them stating that PS3 would then get it. I think people let the media tell them the PS3 would get it then, because it's logical to assume that after the 30 day exclusive was up PS3 would then get it. But I could be wrong.

I merely ask why people thought they were entitled to it, not to start some console war, considering I love both consoles, was just curious...

Yes... and for that matter, I cannot remember them saying the PC would get it, or the Cray Supercomputer, or the Babbage Difference Engine, or indeed my bloody toaster. Content being specific to any specific platform was not even hinted at - the only thing that comes close is Todd Howard saying they probably wouldn't be able to bring 'mods' to the consoles.

I'm too old to be doing this kind of thing anyways. Now, back to the matter at hand: Who here shares my belief that Serana is one of the hottest video game chicks of all time?

You said you want to end this, yet you continue?

Do you understand want "add-on content" means?

ANY content added after release is add-on content. ANY. Beth's first major add-on content was Dawnguard, they might consider Dawnguard to be the first add-on content... but every piece of new content added via patches is also add-on content. I can tell you are only a console gamer. :shakehead:

EDIT: I guess when cd projekt added hours of new content to The Witcher 2 via patches... it wasn't add on content because it was added with a "patch".

This. But, again, we're only giving Coby power by responding to him. Let's ignore the silliness and actually talk about the real issues.

So, if we consider that over 1/3 of the Skyrim sales were on the PS3 (38% currently), how big of a deal do you think this is for Bethesda? Do you think they're worried about the money or could they be considering cutting their losses with us?

This thread is about the PS3 delay of Dawnguard, so we don't know. She's not on the PS3 yet.

I would love for them to add some new marriage options. I don't think it will ever happen though, at least not in a DLC if Serana is to be one.

To be fair... he has moderated his position from preening himself on owning multiple game platforms, to preening himself on simply having paid for Dawnguard... there's progress I suppose.
