PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #11

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:34 am

Everyone needs to be civil about this subject. While it's perfectly fine to have a negative opinion about the lack of a solid release date, there is a way to express yourself in a civil and mature way. We do not want to see immature hostile posts :nono:

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.
Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Not sure entirely but I think the mods wanted the thread creating left up to them. Might've changed now though since there's not an outrageous amount of threads constantly popping up on this.

Anyway, Stormwatcher. I was sad to see that your spirits might be broken over this. You've been one of my favorite posters with your optimism regarding this subject and if there was anyway I could get Dawnguard to you, I would.

That is very sweet. I appreciate the compliment. Thank you. I still have faith....i just wanted all the other people to see that i am not giving up...and i still havent given up quite yet. I am just getting impatient. Patience is a virtue....but only for so long.

Well that will take us well beyond the Inca-Calendar prescribed end of the world... bugger.

Just joking... I'll mark the time-frame in on my Pirelli calendar... far more reliable.

same here lol i expect to see hearthfire sooner than dawnguard lol.
but in all seriousness all this wait has got me thinking the dlc will turn out in 3 ways
  • we wait a while and in a few months we get a dlc that is working like skyrim in terms of bugs and glitches
  • we get dawnguard, hearthfire and the 3'rd dlc right before they release the 4'th dlc on xbox and it will be like fallout 3 GOTY/ New vegas ultimate edition in terms of bugs and glitches
  • we never get the dlc they might port it to the ps4 in the future
my money is on #2

yes, yes it is lol

I find it funny that someone said something along the lines of "this has to do with dawngaurd delay on PS3" on a hearthfire topic and they closed it and moved it here xD

I think it'll be a bug fest especially since you guys on PS3 don't have mods and console commands to work around them when they occur.

Nah... I find myself craving 'charred skeever' and 'mammoth snout'... not to say that I can reliably claim those two things aren't an ingredient in KFC.

Thank you. You have just given us more hope and optimism than the entire Bethesda PR team. Considering we haven't heard From them since early Aug. Thats all I've been asking for is some communication. Just to let us know that they are still listening. Hmmmm seems kinda like the Greybeards. Lol

With PAX prime being what this week we're likely not going to hear anything untill it's over, I highly doubt they'll say anything on DG for PS3 at PAX prime.

They also said that there was just a few people working on Hearthfire. Since the beginning of August we have not heard anything about DG on the PS3, but I'd assume they still want the PS3 community's money, so we'll EVENTUALLY see it, I just don't know when.

While I do understand (Being a PS3 Player myself) Would you really want them to give a release date, and release it on that day? I mean remember when they rushed to meet the 11/11/11 deadline.....

Personally an update(as to is DG cancelled for PS3 or not. If PS3 is getting it, will it standalone or will it be a part of a bundle way down the line. Etc.) would be fine by me. Like i've said, i can wait until the cows come home if there was just some kind of real, non-smarmy-tweet form of communication at all from Bethesda. I think i'm in the minority at this point though and most others would require some kind of definite time frame.

You know what would be cool....coming up with an ability to Freeze Time....instead of just slow it down. That would be a cool power on Skyrim.

Wouldnt that freeze you too?
