PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #17

GTA IV, GT5 and MGS4 on the PS3, I've never had any problems that I've noticed. No crashes, lags etc. Most likely because they were programmed by folk that knew what they were doing for the intended system.

Why don't Beth just employ people that know the systems and program accordingly, instead of trying to port it?

Precisely for the comparison I made before. MGS4 is akin to Uncharted. Beautiful, smooth graphics. It's also linear, scripted/minimal AI. GTAIV is equally akin to Infamous. More open, you can go where you want. But you can't go inside buildings, except for a select few that are part of the story! The NPCs are random "bots" wandering on the street, apart from the story-based characters whose behavior is scripted.

Neither compare with Skyrim. As to "porting" - eventually the term overloads itself out of any true meaning. It would be relatively easy for me to port this message to Shakespearean English since the architecture is quite similar. (xbox, PC) It would be another task to translate it into Mandarin - and have it present itself to its intended audience in the same way as the original.

Note that I do believe it's justifiable to be angry in the sense that I believe we were told that Skyrim would present itself in reasonable equity across platforms.

although buildings are their own cells right? So they aren't all loaded at one time, so that just means it took more space but not necessarily more difficulty to run.

Whenever you enter a building, it has to load.
