PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #17

Post » Sat Nov 17, 2012 9:46 pm

Everyone needs to be civil about this subject. While it's perfectly fine to have a negative opinion about the lack of a solid release date, there is a way to express yourself in a civil and mature way. We do not want to see immature hostile posts or personal insults against other forum members.

It has been http://www.bethblog.com/2012/08/02/dawnguard-ps3-update/ that the PS3 version will be delayed a bit as they are still working to ensure acceptable performance on the platform.
Also we now have the news that the https://twitter.com/elderscrolls/status/239177833199583235 so hopefully Dawnguard for the PS3 is closer. (**Now released**)

Earlier in the month, we provided an update on Dawnguard's status for PS3.

It's been a few weeks, and we wanted to make sure everyone knows where we're at with Dawnguard. Skyrim is a massive and dynamic game that requires a lot of resources, and things get much more complex when you're talking about sizable content like Dawnguard. We have tried a number of things, but none of them solve the issue enough to make Dawnguard good for everyone. The PS3 is a powerful system, and we're working hard to deliver the content you guys want. Dawnguard is obviously not the only DLC we’ve been working on either, so the issues of adding content get even more complicated. This is not a problem we’re positive we can solve, but we are working together with Sony to try to bring you this content.

We wish we had a more definitive answer right now. We understand the frustration when the same content is not available on all platforms. When we have an update, we will certainly let you know. We deeply appreciate all the time and support you have given us, and we’ll keep doing our best to return that.

Damn you beat me to it. I had it all setup and ready to go. (post 1)

So does Sony or PS3 have any information that confirms them working with Bethesda? Just checking in on so far what seems to be an empty claim.

Can we have an real update? serously just saying you have an "porblem" is jsut gonna annoy people more than if you reveal what is wrong. Hell maybe someone knows how to fix it but they won't be-able help you unless you say what wrong

with that in mind just imagnen how much it is must cost Bethesda ever day that they don't release Dawngaurd :( seriously if this was the proper game and not the DLC i bet the high up would be having an [censored]storm of how much there losing...

that another think i don't get acttually get if Bethesada is an money grabbing [censored] of an company why doesn't it look after it's fan ps3 properly, surely it would mean more money for them....

I bet Bethesda already tried to release a crappy version of Dawnguard. Sony refused, and stepped in to make sure they actually get it working. Sony doesn't want Bethesda to cause their PS3 owners to be upset with their choice of console, and hopefully Sony will make sure that the future DLC will be released in playable condition. Sony actually cares about their fan-base, and Bethesda is claiming to as well now that they have Sony breathing down their neck.

Hopefully Bethesda treats all their fans and customers with the same respect when making Fo4 or even next TES games. I mean if Bethesda learns their lesson with this whole fiasco, then something good came out of it. Of course this could have all been avoided in the first place, but what's done is done, and I'm pretty confident DG is going to arrive to the PS3; but I guess at this point all we can do is wait.

Basically, betheda is making skyrim ALL over again for ps3, while adding dawnguard to it. Therefore, they will/ or already have given up. It will sadly be canceled. And screw bethesda.

I know things look bleak, but if they really do need to remake Skyrim for PS3 they would've already given up

I am not sure what you are trying to say

"This" just means the person agrees with you, and doesn't feel they really need to add anything to what you said, so they quote it just to repeat what has already been posted.

Thanks for clearing that up, but even if they do get it out for PS3 I might not be able to play because my ps3 has gone through 2 rerolls which lower processor performance

You know I never really thought of it in these terms. I've never really ever thought of a huge corporation like Sony looking out for my interests over a smaller company like Beth. It's an interesting idea. I don't know how much I buy it, but it's still interesting. At this point this is becoming a pr problem for Song though. Beth games are such a core part of my individual gaming experience that I've considered becoming a primarily pc gamer. That would mean I probably wouldn't invest in the next Sony console. I wonder if it will get big enough for Sony to officially comment.

They might reply, but they wont have any info. If they did have info, they wont be allowed to tell you. What can they say anyway? "Yes, we are working very hard on dawnguard, and will get it out as soon as possible". They wont say anything, theyll ignore you. I messaged sony, and bethesda a week ago, i even called sony, and i didnt even get a reply.

I doubt thats what happenend, they would have told us if they are waiting for sonys approval like they did with the patches. They are still working on it, but not for long.

well bethesda has replied to others, but not to everyone. So it is possible.

Although with sony, just hearing that they are in fact working on it would be enough for these people because they've grown to distrust bethesda. So if Sony confirms simply what Beth has said (which wouldn't be possible to violate any form of NDA since it was already publicly stated) then people would accept it.
