PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #17

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 3:09 am

I know things look bleak, but if they really do need to remake Skyrim for PS3 they would've already given up

They also could be so arrogant to think that their port will work still and don't know that fact due to it.

it should be clear by now that a simple port isn't enough and that some recoding would need to be done.

I would figure that is why you would have a PS3 team in the first place, in acknowledgement of that idea

Yeh, that makes sense.

I still have faith that something will come out, but damn...Dawnguard and Hearthfire are the two I really wanted.

maybe you'll want the 3rd one more.

But maybe you'll have the same issue lmao

If they can't get dawnguard to work they better be able to get hearthfire to work, otherwise there isn't much hope for the PS3 community. If they can't get a small DLC like hearthfire to work then there really is no hope.

Might wanna delete that comment. Discussion about real world politics isn't allowed here.

if that's true that's honestly... kind of funny for some reason. It just sounds like an odd statement lol

But I can see why it wouldn't be allowed.

Yeah there would really be no excuse for not releasing or at least not having info as soon as the 30 days is up on HF.

The sad part is that Hearthfire might actually be MORE difficult to get running on the PS3 than Dawnguard if the save file-size is an issue with performance as Hearthfire will have a TON more complexity to save than Dawnguard.

Which irks me to no end as, quite honestly, I'm more interested in Hearthfire than Dawnguard. Only reason I want Dawnguard is so I finally have another Dwemer dungeon to re-run that's NOT one of the only 4 ones that respawn from the original game.

I really really REALLY want the dragon bone weapons, crossbows, and werewolf perks. My Bosmer archer werewolf is not very happy with the sub-par bow he's stuck with.

I had my fun with Skyrim but i sold it today for today for 14 bucks, seriously Bethesda you should of never released this on Ps3, you sold us a broken game, ToDD Howard, instead of hyping up 11 11 11 you should of released this game later on to fix the issues you KNEW it had on ps3, that just shows how little you care about the ps3 people, by selling us a messed up game, not cool, you guys are all about the money making exclusive DLC for one month to to xbox, how much they gave you guys, hope it was worth it, cas you guys lost a lot of money with the ps3 community. Try not to screw up Fallout 4!

$14? Yikes. That's why I hate selling my used games. Gamestop will turn around and sell that puppy for like 40 bucks.

Just for some clarity, neither Bethesda nor Xbox are the only ones that have exclusive deals. Sony has many full games completely exclusive to their system. Ps3 users are lucky in terms off being the only ones who can enjoy an awesome game series like Uncharted.

Anyway, I do hope you PS3 users will at least get Hearthfire after the 30 days is up. I don't know much about coding or why Dawnguard is causing them so much trouble but since Hearthfire is significantly smaller I don't see why it should be delayed any more than the expected 30 days,

Both systems have very good exclusives, but when a game is released across multiple platforms it should get equal treatment across all platforms.

I agree. I was just making sure the person I was quoting was aware that Xbox and Bethesda aren't the only companies who create and utilize exclusive deals.

You know I never really thought of it in these terms. I've never really ever thought of a huge corporation like Sony looking out for my interests over a smaller company like Beth. It's an interesting idea. I don't know how much I buy it, but it's still interesting. At this point this is becoming a pr problem for Song though. Beth games are such a core part of my individual gaming experience that I've considered becoming a primarily pc gamer. That would mean I probably wouldn't invest in the next Sony console. I wonder if it will get big enough for Sony to officially comment.

I've actually thought about trading in my ps3 for a Xbox.

Ps3 users are lucky in terms off being the only ones who can enjoy an awesome game series like Uncharted.

If Microsoft wants it, they can have it. I personally despise the Uncharted series. I've only played the third one, and it was without a doubt the worst experience gaming experience I've ever had. The only thing it had going for it was graphics, but its combat was completely trial and error based, there was no connectivity between the set pieces, the story drops subplots and characters willy-nilly, and it just wasn't fun. God, I hated it!

But that's off-topic.

Anywho, I hope Sony responds and confirms that they are actively helping Bethesda with this, and Pete Hines and Gstaff aren't just trying to sell us the same ol' lines they have in the past.

The more I think about it, the more Hines is reminding me of Nigel West-dikeens from Red Dead Redemption in terms of what he says Bethesda's game on the PS3 are like.

Ahaha, love the comparison! Love RDR too.

If it turns out that Sony actually isn't helping Bethesda with this process, that would be a huge slap in the face to the PS3 consumers. Not to mention what has already taken place regarding this whole debacle.

yea I'm aware of that but i paid the same amount of money xbox players did,Bethesda release this game for all consoles and i believe we should be treated equally, its pretty obvious that bethesda plays favorites. what pisses me off most is that Todd Coward knew that he was releasing a BROKEN game to ps3 fans but he didn't care he was too focused on 11 11 11

The interesting part is that they had no trouble releasing Skyrim with bugs that "will only effect certain people, while others won't experience any", but yet they're not releasing Dawnguard which has the same problem.

Chill dont switch platforms just for Dawnguard its not even worth it. Plus PS3 has way better exclusives coming out like The Last of us, and Metal Gear ground zeros if your a metal gear fan.

I'm pretty sure Ground Zeros is not an exclusive.

I bet Bethesda already tried to release a crappy version of Dawnguard. Sony refused, and stepped in to make sure they actually get it working. Sony doesn't want Bethesda to cause their PS3 owners to be upset with their choice of console, and hopefully Sony will make sure that the future DLC will be released in playable condition. Sony actually cares about their fan-base, and Bethesda is claiming to as well now that they have Sony breathing down their neck.

I still don't even know why exactly Dawnguard performs "so bad" in the PS3...I mean, I'd make sense if all of it was placed in the same landscape as Skyrim (kinda like Solstheim was in Morrowind)....but the biggest zones are all separated and independent ones.

I don't get it..

I'm new here... With that said, I created this account to simply follow up on the lates news in regards to skyrim's dlc. I been a fan of Bethesda since oblivion released to ps3. Bought the fallout games and everything. I am a ps3 gamer who just so happens to own a 360, the issue with that is I only bought a 360 just to play the dlc from fallout three when that was being released. Needless to say I feel like I been spat in my face by this company who continues to make a great gaming experience for Xbox and pc, but this very same company put out half hearted efforts into ps3 versions of their games. I won't be like most and say I'll NEVER buy a bethsda game again because I will, but just from game stop for 5$ less about a week after it releases for a used version of the game. Point is I'll continue to enjoy the great games they make but they won't profit from me buying their games from this day forward.

All in all... I Still can't wait for Them to put out the dlc for ps3 :D
