I month ago they said that Dawnguard would definitely come out for the PS3. It was just being delayed. Now they are not so sure? We might not get it at all? I am baffled that the problem has been mention for only a week or two, when Dawnguard was mentioned all the way back in April I think? Maybe before? That was when I first heard of it. Five months and not of word of a single issue. What was going on with the PS3 version between then and now? Nothing. It didn't exist. Only the 360 version existed. There is no real PC or PS3 version. Just an 360 with PC or PS3 slapped on the case. They were able to slide with the PC. Not so much with the PS3. Bethesda isn't learning a thing. Maybe they don't care to learn. This is the point I am getting from the lack of communication. I could be wrong and I really REALLY HOPE I am. Well, that was my little rage.
I agree with a lot of what you say, but DG goes much further back than April 2012. I think some of the vampire animations were shown at gamejam etc.. DG must have been framed into the engine going back at least to april 2011. Adding mounted combat, crossbows and the vampire lord forms was no small feat. These DG issues were also known about
before skyrim was even released.
To be fair August 31st was two weeks ago, and he said "solve the issue enough" which indicates progress but not completion.

Beyond the pinned thread from the 31st, there's no substantive updates to share. That post still speaks to where we're at today. If I have new information to share, whether it relates to DLC or title updates, I'll let you guys know.
No substantive updates == no progress.
I have to ask, doesn't this break Trading Standard Laws in the US? Aren't they possibly criminally liable?
Yes. If there is the possibility of anyone picking this up they have pretty well broken consumer laws in most developed countries. They have sold a product not fit for its intended purpose. I know for a fact that a product must be safe and fit for its intended purpose. Any legal jargon companies put around that is still going to be subject to that. And that the studio director, Todd Howard, already admitted they sold it knowing it was not fit could make them criminally liable.
