PS3 Release for Dawnguard - Thread #27

Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 12:43 pm

Were the 360 and PC mounted combat and stuff part of dawnguard or were they a separate patch all together?

Understood, same here. I'm a PC player for a while now, just a supporter of the PS3 as well

Different teams work on different content though I thought, so the track that hearthfire is having is irrelevant to dawnguard if that's the case. It was also said that adding hearthfire would only worsen the dawnguard issue. Waiting it out is a bad idea as if they released all the games at separate times people would buy them individually for a more expensive pricing. If it's all at once then people will just grab the GotY edition with all the DLC in the game already.
They were required for Dawnguard to play, but they were indeed a separate patch

And the GoTY for Skyrim probably won't come for a while

On a side note, replace one of the r's in your username with an o and you get an anagram of atrocious! When I glanced at it I thought you were copying the red lantern guy.

Even if that's not his name it's something along those lines lol

It was an altered form of my old Spellsword character's name: Arcton
Replace the X in your name with a C and you're a FO3 companion

Charon, isn't that also the ferryman on the river styx? Or is that Chiron?

Well Charon is either a minotaur or the grim reaper I dunno lol

i just got a thought, what if they are going to release the dawnguard & heartfire on the same day as the next dlc. that could be there way of saying sorry for the wait.

Methinks it's not just going to be that - but that they'll offer the PS3 a package deal (say, $40-$50 for all three) just for an apology to PS3 users.

But then again, if they did that - they'd get the entire PC/Xbox community in a tizzy. So, yours' is probably the safer bet. DG+HF as a nice cheap bundle package. The next DLC as its own.

Either way - as a PS3 owner it's going to be like getting a WHOLE NEW GAME with nabbing 3 expansions at the same time! (If it happens... which I"M REALLY HOPING IT DOES!)

I think the special deal will be dawngaurd + hearthfire = 25 bucks xD

And hearthfire will probably be released at a later date lol
Assuming that it's released

Is there a reason you guys think it’s going to be coming out around the same time as the new dlc, or is that just a dream?

I feel as most of you do,I am angry and disappointed...but making these games is alot harder than you probably know, one little thing can glitch the game out.For example I recall from the Oblivion or Skyrim making of documentery that if they shot a fireball in a certain spot it would totally glitch out another area, the whole game world is connected, everything effects everything else, any idea how much work it takes to go over every little thing in a game as large and complex as this ? I would rather they took thier time and polished it(as much as they do anyway)....On top of it the PS3 is harder to program for.

I know it will be released soon...

I'm sorry but the time won't do anything. If it's released it will crash after 10 steps just like their other delayed DLC's. It will probably become a flipbook like the other delayed DLC's. You will probably see the arrow move inch by inch and take all of 5 minutes to hit the target.

Their previous DLC delayed releases on the PS3 have not made me believe that giving them time will make the DLC run smooth. It just makes me think it'll eventually get a flip book released.

Well it seems to have been missed off from the OP but the 1.8.145 interface files are ready for PS3 DLC (check commit log of my UI SDK and particularly Translate_ENGLISH.txt).

Just posted in skyrim general discussion
