There have been many complaints like this. Theres more threads about complains than any other threads. There should be only one thread for any complains u have with the game.

Aren't they making the Witcher 2 for consoles anyway?
It won't be the same. They said it will be adopted to consoles. Not exact copy and paste

"blah blah blah casuals"

Anytime someone uses that stupid moronic stereotype/insult, you know that they have nothing useful to say.

But Casual gamers do fit into a category whether you like it or not. it's very hard to deny Skyrim hasn't been made more friendly to those sorts of gamers, just like Civilisation 5. I think Civ 5 got the balance right much better than Skyrim in making itself more friendlier to casual gamers or people who haven't played that type of game before.

I am 19 and I hate Halo.

Get the [censored] over that not everyone has the same opinion as you

the rampant eliteism that has spread like a cancer thrgouhout the pc community in the past years almost makes me want to go to consoles.
LoL your opinion about gaming is nothing . 19 y.o that is why you don't know [censored] about gaming. I am 29.

Actually it could be intended two ways 1. Making everyone who plays Halo is a 12 year old the way you took it or 2. The game was made for the 12 year olds that do play Halo such wouldn't include you in that demographic now would it?

Either way Witcher 2 vs Wicther 1 depth isn't even comparable because Witcher 2 while pretty and much "hardcoe" then Skyrim is still lacking various things that the old one did but alas it is not a complete flop it did have a decent story unlike Skyrim.
Man, First Witcher was one of the best games I ever played!

The game was intended for a more mature audience not 12 year old Halo fans.

Yeah, I know how gamers need six and violence to prove their maturity.....

I thought that was a pretty nifty feature, reminding me of how this works in reality. When you go outside of your moderately lightened house and look up at the sky you go semi-blind for a few secons until your eyes can adjust. Same if suddenly looking down from the sun to the ground.

No, even when I'm outside all day, I'll look at the sky and still be blinded. Go have a look outside your window; see if it takes a few seconds for the glare to die down.

you are aware that this is an Action adventure rpg so finding voice actors for every character is near impossible right? games like GTA cant be compared to this being that there are only a few characters that need there own voice there for they don't need to hire a lot of people. Bethesda making Skyrim they hired more voice actors then any Grand theft auto game ever needed

Having one for every actor would be impossible, but having more than what they currently have would be so simple you just have to wonder why they haven't taken that route. And the truth is that GTA has a much larger VA cast than Skyrim. Compare if you will:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0802999/fullcredits#cast

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1814884/fullcredits#cast

EVERY person in GTAIV, from pedestrians to voices on the radio, etc, has their own unique voice. I'm certain if Bethesda put a call out for volunteers, hundreds of people would lend their voices to the game. Even if they just got one or two pieces of dialogue to say I'm certain they'd still be riveted. Perhaps Bethesda could then focus on giving more of the main characters their own unique voice, so every second person isn't Jim Cummings.

Personally, I think Skyrim is VERY Unique and has just set a new standard for RPG style gaming! yes, it IS missing some of the more favored styles from RPGs, but, No game will ever be perfect, but, Skyrim is damn close, especially on PC, you can add mods and make it the way you want it! 9or really freaking close) Go back to your COD if skyrim is too much for you :P

In regards to the original post - yes there are problems, always will be with a huge open game like this. However yes I agree with some of your comments.

1) Not dark enough caves, etc... first thing I noticed was never needing a torch/light inside caves (how it shipped this was amazes me)! Anyway I'm now using a mod which fixes this.

2) Repeated voice acting lines - I believe this is actually becomming a major issue in modern games. With so much dialogue in a games now (esp Skyrim) there is only so much the voice actors can do (budget & time limitations).

I believe the only solution for this is to have computer generated voice dialogue. Surely in this day & age we can have the PC (or console) generate believable voices from text - then each character gets their own parameters (inflection, tone, pitch, etc) and we finally get away from repeated line/repeated actors, as well as reducing costs by not needing any (big name) actors to record dialogue.

Still I love the game & have sunk over 150hrs so far. (I suffer from many techical issues playing the game - but I always keep comming back for more).

First off Skyrim is ok, is it the greatest thing ever no, have there been better games yes, have there been worse absolutly, but by no means is Skyrim the epic

Now i could go on talking about how over powered or under powered some aspects of the game are but i wont.

For me the big killer in this game which i was hoping they would fix from oblivion is immersion. Now I played this game for 120 hours so I can make the previous statement. Here are few of things that i find to be immersion breaking, i will try to order them from least to most important for me.

- Cave lighting - why is ever cave lit like the sun. it is a cave. i want to walk into one and see only torches lighting it so i can sa to myself "hey there must be something going on in here" or see pitch blackness and say "eh i will come back later" only to find out from an npc in a city far far away that there may be a peice of epic loot down there. also i dont ever remember saying "ah crap i need to go get a torch before i go there". enough with the glowing luminous mushrooms!

-guild master quests - when it takes 4 quests to become a guild master, it makes me want to burn that guild down to the ground. how in the world did a place last that long when im stronger than the current guild master walkign in fresh off the street?

- Dialogue Dialogue and Dialogue. - why when i become the leader of a guild do i have npc disrespecting me by asking me to fetch soul gems that they are alreading selling, npc disrespecting me when i walk by spouting the same line they said to me when i first walked into the guild. and no, nobody stole my sweet roll asshat.

- after saving the world everyone acts like nothing happened.... they see me fighting dragons and are only amazed after the bones laying on the ground never mind that i just absorbed its soul. but in there defense watching a npc bare knuckle fight a dragon or watching a horse take one down is pry far more impressive to them.

i dont know maybe i am expecting way to much out this game type. i think that if they cut the map in half and concentrated on quality over quantity this would have been a much better game.

I agree with you 100%.Skyrim definitely suffers from lacking immersion, which in turn makes it a bland game. You have some really good critiques about the game and you did it in a civilized/educated manner, which is rare on the forums. Unfortunately, we have some posters that even if you post an opinion or thought in a civilized manner, they immediately take it as an attack on the game and begin posting "smart" comments.

Am I alone? Does anyone else sigh out loud when they read the subject line and think, "here we go again?"

No, but if I did, I wouldn't bother reading the post.

any game i play for more than twenty hours is a great game, i have literally gotten my money's worth out of the experince, usually to get 20+hours i have to enjoy a game. Now if i read the op he/she/it played for 120 hours...thats six times what i would expect in a game.

Does it have its flaws? Yes. Every game does, thats how it goes. The flaws don't really out weigh the pluses, i mean have you seen that wide open world? That is why people buy tes games, the lore and the world

Pretty much sums up my views save setting a new standard for RPGs, and that is because the term "RPG" is subjective, so it's not really possible for a standard to be set when everyone's views are different.

I tend to be quite vocal about what I didn't like, but really... there's gotta be a reason why Steam's "time played" counter is in the triple digits, you know. :P
