Well, in an ideal world, Skyrim would sell a lot more copies than "Crap 2012", and would make a lot more money at the same price point. Computer software, to some extent, is really a game of volume, not high price. It's about selling millions of copies (you hope, as developer) of a product whose per-unit cost is almost zero, at a high enough price that when multiplied by those millions of units sold, adds up to some real money and makes the endeavor worthwhile. Unfortunately, Crap XXXX seem to often sell more copies than anything else. *sigh*
Anyhow, as for me - I'm cheap, so I usually don't buy games at release - I'll wait 6 months, a year, sometimes 2 years, buy the GOTY/Ultimate edition with all the DLC for like $20. But, I've decided that Elder Scrolls games have been such a great value for me, that I wanted to buy the game at the "premium" price of $60 ( I mean, I *never* buy games at $60, so for me, this really is premium pricing) at release, not because I just couldn't wait, but because I wanted to "tip" Bethesda for making great games that I've enjoyed at bargain prices in the past. I'll *probably* also buy some/all of the DLC, so in the end the game probably *will* cost me $90 or $100 all told.
So, Bethesda, if anyone from the Co. reads this - Thank you, and you're welcome.
