simple solution would be to clear cache, not installed update and then play offline with game installed to HDD.

GO TRY IT BRO

"The Reality of the Situation.
11/08/2011 - Anonymous
I work for one of the largest publishers in world, and they treat the development of games as a machine (which I believe is representative of many testing environments). The issue with these policies is that it systematically breeds a disdain for actually assuring (or ensuring) quality.

In the last few months of testing, 95% of bugs will be marked WNF (“Will Not Fix”). The idea is that fixing a bug could cause a new bug, and if the bug is not high severity, it’s not worth the risk. So if the project is running longer than planned, most low-severity bugs (and some mid-severity bugs) get ignored. Of course, the project always runs longer than planned, because the producer’s goal is to cram every game into a one year development cycle, even if it really should have been a two or three year game.

What makes matters worse is that many of the producers running things used to be QA Testers. These are the ones who stuck with it for years. Usually they have an easy-to-get-along with personality, a good record of being on time, a decent record with bugs and a tendency to not complain. These are the guys who took the eventual QA mantra, “Ship it!” to heart.

“Ship it!,” by the way, means “[censored] it.” It’s the realization that after enough trials and tribulations, you just don’t care about the quality of the game anymore because the game NEEDS to get out the door (or so says the folks upstairs).

Testers are still judged by their bug counts (though some leads will try to say otherwise to their testers), even when the bugs won’t be fixed. So the grunts are still expected to cover QA’s collective ass by entering everything they find, presumably to convince the higher-ups that we’re actually working. The result is a sense that your job… your high-overtime job, and therefore your life… has no purpose. It’s just you and the guy next to you, yelling at screens, finding and entering bugs that won’t be fixed, in a soul-crushing room the color of bile and [censored], trying to earn $9.50/hr. In Los Angeles, where $9.50 might buy you lunch, and a month’s worth of pay might cover your rent, if your parents are very generous in what they charge you."

Sound a little sour there... u mad?

I'm used to games releasing with a few kinks, but if this is really as bad as people say it is, then I'm genuinely disappointed in whoever was supposed to be fixing bugs, this seems way to obvious for them to have not to noticed it.

I hope to God Bethesda's testing team isn't structured this way, I mean considering the quality of their games it can't be. What the previous poster is describing seems like a software development horror-story.

I had bought the 360 Core Slim 4g and bought the 250gb HDD.
Installing it on the 250gb HDD, is it going to have the same issue as if the new hard drive i bought been a 250gb 360 from the start?

Sorry if this had been answered but since hearing this issue and looking on the forums, hadnt really seen anyone in my particular situation.

Figured I would ask this (I don't have my game yet), but to the people having this issue have you by chance installed the game on the 4GB slim models?

A lot of ppl that reported this problem have 250GB slim ones.
I dont think it matters what console model is in question, they are all designed to work same with same components (with small tweaks to newer versions for less overheat risk and so on).

So I installed it to my hdd right away, and in the first tower the walls looked kinda bad. I then uninstalled the game and they seemed to look better (On a side note, load times are much faster while installed). However the textures still seemed off... so I re installed it, and the textures were terrible again...so again I uninstalled it, and they were better. In conclusion, there is clearly a texture issue. Maybe its an issue present whether the game is installed or not, and just exasperated by installing the game.

btw, I'm using a 120 gb big elite. I have it connected to my 1080p tv via an hdmi cord.

Well the 4GB slim models supposedly use flash memory, and are not an actual HDD... which apparently caused textures issues with the optional texture pack for BF3 because for some reason it was allowed to install on the 4G slim... which is why I was wondering what people were using, because I figured that may be what is happening here. But if it's happening on the 250 systems then I have no idea.

I'll probably just stick with this disk, I found Oblivion played worse when installed too...

Alright guys as we now know that Beth are working on the issue I say we cut down on the speculation on why this wierd glitch is happening (given that it has been pointed out it happens to people running the game via the disk we can safely assume that the problem is indeed not the instalation to the HDD. Have a friend who's playing it installed and is yet to encounter the texture bug). Gonna get Skyrim today (360 version here too even though I have a Ps3 as well) and I'm going to post if the issue arises with my copy too and maybe try to follow up on what could have caused it.

We're looking into it. Something to clear up is this has nothing to do with whether you install to the hard drive or not.

so just to clear this up, its NOTHING to do with if you install to HDD or not? sorry for sounding stupid but i am hearing 101 different theories on this!

OK, I wasn't going to believe it until I saw the gametrailers review, they had it bad, they even gave the game a low score because of it

9.3 low??

Don`t want to doubt anyone but if this real and as wide spread a problem as it sounds, Why can I only find two pictures of it on the internet.

1) a chair
2) sword and the hand

I just saying with problems like this there are normally 100 youtube videos up in a couple of hours.

Maybe I just can`t find them.

What do you guys think?

I hope they gonna fix it VERY SOON.......

This is a real problem. I see it first hand since yesterday. And u can′t find any Videos because the release is on 11.11.11.
No one likes to get banned from Youtube.

It′s a shame to Walk around this Beautiful World and see alot of things blurry and bad. (If u Install to HDD, but not everybody wan′t to have the game
running from CD for Hours and Days!!!! Especially You Guys with the Older XBOX 360)

And the Snow on Stairs and Walls looks HORRIBLE. It looks like if its White painted. That can′t be final.

Another Good example is, when you open the Inventory and look at Weapons or Armour,
then one time the Item looks blurry and bad and like 30 minutes later the same item looks great with all textures loaded.

When the Majority of u guys get the hands on the game today, u will be shocked!!!
Install it and see for yourself. This Disaster is a Must See.
This needs to be fixed ASAP.

I get ALL of this exactly and I have NOT installed to hard drive in fear of this problem. Cleared cache and it did nothing. Disgusted at Beth for not fixing this on release let alone in the day one patch!!

Alright guys, took the time to do some testing and take some pics. This is NOT to diss Bethesda, I'm just trying to help getting this issue fixed. I have no blurry textures when playing from the disc, on a Xbox360 slim. Here's what I got:

Right after installing the game to the HDD. Very blurry textures, very clear to me that this is just an issue where a certain layer of texture detail isn't loaded

After clearing the cache, problem persists

Then removed the installed game data and playef off the disc. At first startup, the textures remained the same, but after playing for about 10mins and visiting some other areas, and then returning to the same place, I got this:

Come on Bethesda, just acknowledge this is an issue you guys are aware of and looking into. This is SO obvious that I didn't even have to LOOK for certain textures to be off, it's right there in my face. If you need any more extra info or testing to be done, let me know.

trust me this is a real issue on the 360 im currently trying to play it from an external drive without downloading the 3mb update i will post updates what ticks me off is that bethesda doesn't come out and admit this is an Issue like EA did with battlefield before the game released and they released a texture pack day one shame on bethesda for this. This will be the last time I buy a bethesda game day one Period Point Blank

*Edit i can confirm playing from my external Toshiba Canvio Basics Hard Drive (without the update) the textures seem to look slightly better I can actually see the veins and hairs on my characters arm and hands. The game still doesn't seem to be up to par with the Demo Versions Bethesda released however but it is better using this method
